I don't see how this "song" honours Dimebag in any way. But hey, it is appreciated. And it's the thought that counts.

...imagine the possibilities! My condolences to the Abbott family during this most trying of times.
Saw Buckethead a few years back opening for Primus, and I'm still not sure of what I was seeing! The guy can shred though, that's for sure. I have his CD 'Monsters and Robots", truly an eclectic mix of funk, metal and electronica. Props to Buckethead for his tribute to Dime.
Merry Metal Christmas, everyone!

UUUGGGGHHHHH... horrible production.. I know this is suppossed to be a dime tribute, but it seems to me like its just an excuse to get buckethead some nameplay... If he hadnt said it was for dime, no one would have listened... typical buckethead, latching on to someone else for some publicity. First Axl and now Dime...
I havent heard buckethead come out and tell any drinking stories he had with Dime... No kind words saying how upset he is about this loss.. Nothing, then all of the sudden a cheap song and a clever way to promote it..
Fuck Buckethead....

I have followed Buckethead for years...through all his bands Corn Bugs/Paraxis/thanatopsis/GNR (paid him well), solo,w/Primus..etc... and he is a very impressive guitar player he put out more stuff than Horrible Zakk...when the world needs a real hero Buckethead will step up to the plate...i really do not see the tribute side of this song other then the odd time signitures thrown in every other measue..the production is prolly CAKEWALK too....i liked the tune his "Coo coo clocks from hell" is heavey as shit like this and "Population Override" is more mellow and solo-EEE. and "Colma" is shear brillance...everyone hates him because of GNR i'll tell you you and I would have taken that gig it was big money..and you know Buckethead likes his weed

he made a song on his computer and gave it away for free, big deal. Some of his stuff may be a bit over the top and wacky but he has made some of the best guitar oriented music i've ever heard. Maybe not all on one cd, but you could put together a two or three disc comp of his best songs and have a great godamn "best of".

Really first time I saw him was with Guns at MSG. From that point on I have been amazed by his work. Again at the Col Claypool show at Roseland he was awesome. I am not a musician and will never claim to be an expert on music but I know what makes me feel good and this guy rocks. I listen to this tribute and see the pictures of him with Dime and I know that he is for real. RIP DIME and thanks Bucket....

Total nice guy. AMAZING guitar player. Frightningly good on bass. Horrifyingly good at basket ball. More power to him. Few people can touch him on his instrument.
He was cool with Dime and wrote and song, thinking about him? Cool. I'm sure it was sincere. Some of you assholes are too jaded.

To knock Buckethead for releasing this tribute - instead of sharing a drinking story like about 8000 backward fucks nobody has heard of (I lost count at about 3000 here on Blabber) - is simply STUPID! Buckethead is a bit of a head case, I agree, but the guy is an INCREDIBLE axeman and has worked with some great (and likewise eclectic) musicians, such as Les Claypool, Bootsy Collins, Bernie Worrell, Mike Keneally (Zappa protege), Jonas Hellborg, etc. etc. In my book, composing a song is more of a tribute than saying "Woo hoo wasn't he cool! We partied once!" WTF!!

Rocknteacher.....has it's benefits....you know Buckethead smokes up quit a lot....so for him to through together this little diddy...I would have to give him the credit of...it seems he is the first to release a song especially dedicated to DIME? I know there will be concerts and benefits and a college fund set up in his name but do you think they will invite Buckethead to play this song?? Prolly NOT!!!! and as far as all the DIME stuff everyone is jupping on the wagon..it is getting daunting for me ....

and wiggles. and moves rather robotically. he's atreat for the eye and ear. in short, he's a totally unique artist in a field crammed with copycats, wannabes, and imitators.
Few guitarists can shred like Buckethead, and even fewer are fearless enough to present themselves visually in such a daring and truly bizarre manner.
I checked out the GnR mp3s at the above link, and the band sounds like, well, a very good GnR tribute. Buckethead's tribute to Dime was classic B-head-off kilter, furiously double picked metal riffs, wiith bits of stunning melody tossed in there to fuck it up even more. I figure he was just thinking of his buddy while composing it, rather than trying to emulate Dime's style. Face it, any ass clown could've just crammed together a couple of Dime-like riffs...
So hats off (okay, buckets off) to Buckethead!

Nice that hes done a tribute...Now that Mike Patton has fell out with Trey Spruance he could get Buckethead to replace him in Mr. Bungle and get another fucking record out lol. Hes a good player by all means, but hes not as good as some are making out..hes no Michael Angelo, Yngwie, etc. And somebody above called GNR a shitass rockband...What, you don't like ROCK? Fuck off. I love all music, and as far as 80's hair metal goes, GNR were way ahead of the pack, although i'd say L.A. Guns were also very good - They got put in the hair metal category for there first album but they were alot more experimental than rest, the talent was there and still is if you listen to Waking The Dead, production was fucking excellent, the songs were great and deserved alot more promotion

Anyone who doesn't like Buckethead only likes metal because of the hair...anyway, you dumb bastards...Dime was a guitar player and the best way to pay tribute to a guitar player is to, in the words of Frank Zappa, SHUT UP AND PLAY YOUR GUITAR...music is better than words...this is a free song anyone bitching about it should not breed.
