THE ACACIA STRAIN Set Release Date For New Album - Apr. 7, 2006
Springfield, Massachusetts-based purveyors of all things heavy THE ACACIA STRAIN will release "The Dead Walk" on June 13 through Prosthetic Records. The CD was recorded with Adam Dutkiewicz (KILLSWITCH ENGAGE) in December 2005 and features extensive artwork handled by Paul Romano (MASTODON). The album will feature the tracks "4 x 4", "Angry Mob Justice" and "Whoa! Shut It Down", which were played live recently on the string of dates alongside DARKEST HOUR and HIMSA in February and March. In the meantime, fans can check out two demo versions of songs from "The Dead Walk" on the band's MySpace page.

"There are so many people today who are afraid to take their own stance," says vocalist Vincent Bennett. "So many people just float through life with no meaning. They have no opinions of their own, nothing is theirs. Yet at the same time, there are so many people who are so self-righteous, it's sickening. 'The Dead Walk' focuses on that.”

Next up, THE ACACIA STRAIN will be playing at the eighth annual New England Metal and Hardcore Festival alongside several Prosthetic labelmates. Following that, the band will head back out on the road in May with THE RED CHORD and THE TONY DANZA TAP DANCE EXTRAVAGANZA, and follow that up with a tour alongside SOILENT GREEN in June.

Upcoming THE ACACIA STRAIN shows:

Apr. 08 Hamden, MA - Hamden Elks Lodge
Apr. 23 Chicopee, MA - Cabot St. Pub
Apr. 29 Worcester, MA - Palladium (New England Metal and Hardcore Festival)
May 11 Louisville, KY - Headliner's Music Hall

I've kept my eyes on these guys over the past couple of years, when they released their first album "...And Life is Very Long" on Devil's Head Records (underground label based in the New England area, check out www.devilsheadquarters.com), to the uber-heavy, sludgy and somewhat-polyrhythmic "3750". I would be excited for the chance to see these guys live, but I live on the West Coast (Arizona, specifically). This a band to watch out for, and they have alot of potential to make a name for themselves.

fuck Vaders new ep, they are doing the same shit they did 10 years ago. I would be willing to bet that you have not even listened to Acacia Strain, but your more than willing to talk shit about them. "Girls pants" what ever.

does the Acacia Strain mean? Sounds like either a 'virus' or someone blowing an O ring trying to push one out on 22 Acacia Avenue. No offense, but not my cup of tea either.

I do like their music, but I have to admit that was a funny comment.

A metal head with a sense of humor -- Imagine that shit!
