DEF LEPPARD: New Album Pushed Back To May
- Feb. 2, 2008
|
|
|
DEF LEPPARD's official web site has been updated with the following message:
"Well, it's one of the constants in the history of DEF LEPPARD, and we regret to inform you that it has popped up again: the release of the band's new album, 'Songs from the Sparkle Lounge', has been pushed back (even though the date we mentioned two weeks ago was only a tentative date to start with). The album is now scheduled to come out on May 5 in the UK and May 6 in North America (international dates have not been confirmed yet, but it will probably be May 6 as well). I guess we don't need to tell you that these dates are also tentative and subject to change.
"We can also give you the working titles of all the tracks scheduled to appear on the album. From the way things look now, 11 songs from the Sparkle Lounge will be making their way to your CD player:
01. Nine Lives 02. C'mon C'mon 03. Go 04. Love 05. Cruise Control 06. Bad Actress 07. Hallucinate 08. Tomorrow 09. Come Undone 10. Only the Good Die Young 11. Give It Away
"Please note that some of these titles may still change (they're working titles, after all) and that they are not listed in any particular order."
"Songs from the Sparkle Lounge" will be the band's first LP since last year's "Yeah!", which was a collection of covers of songs by artists who had influenced the band. Their most recent studio album of original material was 2002's "X".
The first single off the album is a song called "Nine Lives", which features a guest appearance by country star Tim McGraw.
DEF LEPPARD will team up with STYX and REO SPEEDWAGON for a North American tour in March/April. The trek will consist of around 20 dates.

The world's better off without it. Keep the delays coming.
Is DL news even worthy of Blabbermouth at this point? Their news is better left to the pop blogs.

Like Theo. LeSieg and zeets pointed out......song titles sound familiar. I know you guys admitted to lifting the song title "Rock of Ages', but....
Come on guys, after all the time between albums, these are the best song titles you could come up with????
Might as well change "Cruise Control" to "She's Lost Control" and "Bad Actress" to "Stacked Actors".

FYI to ZEETS: KISS has a song called TOMORROW AND TONIGHT.
I caught the Def Lep bandwagon when PYROMANIA was hot and on MTV. SLANG is a good album and underrated. With YEAH, I believe it took them back to the PYRO/HYSTERIA sound. Hopefully it's been converted to this new album.
As for ADRENALIZE, I call it "HYSTERIA PART 2", EURHORIA had it moments, and X was fair.
I believe fans need to realize that when an artist is in the moment and captures it, that's brilliant. You can't go back to the same river twice. Either evolve or live in 1983.

Also Asia had a song called "Go" it was from the album Asta and actually made the top 40 in the US i think. The video had a hot chick changing. And putting a robot helmet on. Like hot chicks tend to do.

what about the album title? songs from the sparkle lounge so named because that's the name of the room where they rehearsed.
well the rolling stones put out a disc called voodoo lounge in 1994. so name d because voodoo lounge was the name of the room where they rehearsed.

i look forward to the new album. it looks interesting. and i don't care if coincidentally so many of the songs happen to have the same titles as some older ones. they'll be picked on at this site no matter what they do. i wouldn't expect anything less than tons of negativity and close-mindedness at blabbermouth. afterall, it's a metal website.
Hysteria is one of the greatest albums. It's silly to be picking on an album for having pop sensibility or for its popularity. Those songs were incredible. And I enjoy Slang, Euphoria, and Yeah as well, and would rather listen to that than a lot of heavy metal.
Yup, hysteria is glam, commercial, and i love it
See ya
