ATREYU Does A 'Slow Burn' - Aug. 14, 2008
The Pulse of Radio reports: ATREYU has recently issued the latest single from its current album, "Lead Sails Paper Anchor", called "Slow Burn". Singer Alex Varkatzas told The Pulse of Radio that the track could be the most diverse offering yet from the California-based punk band. "Oh, it's a rad song, like, it's got a totally different feel than anything we've ever kind of written before, and it's got a real, like, to me almost like a U2-type, like, rousing drum beat chorus," he said. "It's just kind of like another outside of the bubble song for ATREYU on 'Lead Sails Paper Anchor', which, I think the whole record is kind of outside of our bubble. Another weird song that we wrote and we play. We don't even play it that well."

"Slow Burn" follows "Falling Down" and "Becoming the Bull" as singles from "Lead Sails Paper Anchor".

The group issued an expanded version of the album this past April, featuring newly recorded cover songs, 10 videos and profiles of each band member.

ATREYU is currently appearing on LINKIN PARK's Projekt Revolution tour, which stops on Friday (August 15) in Cincinnati. ATREYU will co-headline the European edition of the Taste of Chaos tour beginning in mid-October.

call em sellouts if you want, but ive got all their albums and each one of their albums has changed their sound. my favorite happens to be their first album, but the new one for what it is, is pretty good. its better than most modern rock played on radio today.

That so called metal heads could spit out a liturgy that didnt contain the words 'sell out'. A band that sells records and swells in popularity to the point where their videos hit MTV all of a sudden drop in value for some reason in the eyes of the hardcore. The hardcore incidently are a bunch of brainless idiots mindlessly following a image created in the late 70's through the 80's... Metal has evolved and it is so much more, so much more diverse than it ever was... in my opinion to fuckin diverse, you need a spreadsheet to sort out all the metal sub-genres nowadays.. but its become diverse regardless and band success does not say 'sell out' and what are they actually selling out to... money? No one creates a band solely to play music, somewhere there is always the bottom line.. and thats the pay check.
