OZZY OSBOURNE: 'Wreckage Of My Past' Documentary Trailer Available - May 17, 2009
A trailer for "Wreckage Of My Past", the forthcoming film documenting the life of music icon Ozzy Osbourne as he approaches his 60th birthday, can be viewed below. Newly sober, Ozzy has finally reached a point of clarity as he looks back on a lifetime of unresolved issues, unparalleled success, misdiagnosed diseases, severed ties, and a recurring dependency on drugs and alcohol. Due in theaters early 2010, this is a film about reconciling the past and looking toward the future.

"Wreckage Of My Past", which is being directed by Mike Piscitelli, and written and produced by Jordan Tappis, will be the first release from Jacko Productions, a company started by Ozzy's son Jack.

Jack Osbourne is executive-producing "Wreckage Of My Past" along with his mother, Sharon Osbourne, Ozzy's longtime manager.

Jack and Sharon are financing the film themselves.

"Wreckage Of My Past", filming for which began in January 2008, features interviews with all the principal members of BLACK SABBATH, the various incarnations of Ozzy's solo band, family and friends. But the trick, Jack says, is getting them to be truthful. "The hard thing is getting people to be honest and not have it be a fluff piece, because that's not what we're trying to do," he told RollingStone.com. "I'm trying to paint a realistic picture of who my father is. I think 'The Osbournes', to a degree, tarnished the public's perception of my dad as a bit of a senile, funny, bumbling guy. Yeah, my dad can be that guy, but it's not him. I think that almost discredited who he is as an artist. My dad's not an idiot — he's nothing short of a genius, in my opinion. He does have huge flaws, and we're trying to really paint an honest picture of that."

According to Variety, Jack Osbourne has filmed several of his father's concerts, is compiling early archive footage, and working on an interview with Ozzy's first wife. He'll put the footage together with Piscitelli and Tappis before talking to distributors.

"I want people to see John Osbourne as the guy I grew up with, the tormented, complex musician whose personal demons manifest themselves in so many crazy, unique ways," Osbourne said. "He's agreed to it but is putting up his guard, massively afraid of putting his true self out there on display for people to see."

So, will there be any Bob Daisley or Lee Kerslake interviews? I bet this film will have made them "disappear" just like their parts on the first two albums.

Another Ozzy documentary??

I wonder if this one will have people like Lars Ulrich and Joe Elliot talk about how great Ozzy was and how useless the other members of Sabbath were like on the Don't Blame Me video....

A not so talented guy, surrounded by truly talented people that made him look good...while taking all the credit because he was the guy out front. That sums up Ozzy's entire musical career... bet the doc won't point that out, though.

These guys must be interviewed for this film. Even if they say bad things about Ozzy. If Jack wants to make a real story, Lee and Bob should be there.

You are right...the old man IS totally overated. Tony and Geezer did it all the first time (1970 - 1975). The last 2 Sabbath albums with Ozzy are below average at best. Then, DIO took care of the sinking ship that was Sabbath at the time.

Agreed. 1. Iommi/Butler 2. Daisley/Rhoads 3. Lee/Daisley 4. Wylde/Daisley/Castillo. These guys are the meat & potatoes of the song writing credits in Ozzy's career.

Where ever the whole credit goes for the greatness that Ozzy has been a part of in rock n roll, he has indeed been a a huge influence for many years. I will see the documentary and will keep in mind who is behind the film as I decide at that time whether it was a fluff piece or a more honest attempt to show more of Ozzy's life. I respect Sharon as a businessman and as an undyingly loyal wife, but I know she is a brutal bitch, too. The bootleg of the Iron Maiden concert where she was fucking with the electricity during their set proved a lot about her. But Ozzy has definitely helped to define some of the best metal through history - and a long history it has been for him. Cheers to Ozzy!

The man is one quarter responsible for inventing heavy metal in my humble opinion. He's got a free pass to screw up and still get all the respect he deserves.

He's a good person from what I can tell and we owe this man a lot.

He is the best and he surrounds himself with the best. He has a unique persona. If you don't like him why do you read about him. Don't feed the trolls. If Sharon was a man you would think she was a great businessman and person. I admire both of them and Ozzy's music is one of a kind.

The Osbournes was a disaster. I don't defend Ozzy, he doesn't need it. He is simply the best - period!

Listening to Black Rain should dispell any doubt as to his current abilities. I can't wait for the movie. Ozzy rocks.

TO THE THOSE OF YOU WHO THINK OZZY IS SUCH A HORRIBLE MUSICIAN, AND THAT BLACK SABBATH WAS ONLY TONNI AND GEEZER, WHY IS IT THAT WHEN THEY FIRED OZZY THEIR MUSIC NEVER AMOUNTED TO ANYTHING AFTER THAT. WHEN YOU THINK OF SABBATH NO ONE THINKS OF DIO ARE YOU KIDDING ME??? THE OZZY YEARS OF SABBATH IS WHAT INFLUENCED HARD ROCK TODAY.
THAT IS LIKE SAYING ZEPPLIN WOULD HAVE BEEN JUST AS GOO WITHOUT ROBERT PLANT!!! LEARN YOUR MUSIC HISTORY BEFORE YOU SPOUT OFF AT THE MOUTH!!!!!!!!!!!!!
