Design Your Universe is a good album, with nicely varied and complex arrangements and while they continue to write great songs, man, that album is waaaaaay too long. I loose interest after about half an hour with almost an hour to go. "Resign to Surrender" is a true epic(a) track.

COMMENT | Looking forward to this tour . . .

I really like the new album. Has all the elements you expect from Epica, buts strikes me as having a more straight up metal vibe than their previous albums. Definitely a crunchier and more prominent guitar sound this time out.

Usually, except for the signature tracks or "singles", their CDs take a while to sink in for me. This one I really liked on the 1st listen. And, nice to hear Tony Kakko from Sonata on "White Waters."

COMMENT | Great Epica recording

Yes, I find this to be another great Epica album. Just what you would expect. Perhaps heavier (Mark's vocals are all over this thing) with more guitar, but it's Epica at it's finest.
Kudos to the choir in this thing. It's their best with Epica yet!
