ZWAN Ink Deal With REPRISE RECORDS

Chicago-based ZWAN, featuring former SMASHING PUMPKINS mainman Billy Corgan, ex-PUMPKINS drummer Jimmy Chamberlin, former CHAVEZ guitarist Matt Sweeney, ex-SLINT guitarist David Pajo, and A PERFECT CIRCLE bassist Paz Lechantin, have inked a deal with Reprise Records. The group's already-completed debut album is expected to surface early next year. In the meantime, ZWAN will be making the radio station Christmas festival rounds in December with gigs in Boston (Dec. 11), New York (Dec. 12), Washington, D.C. (Dec. 13), Philadelphia (Dec. 15), and Detroit (Dec. 17). ZWAN are also scheduled to play Las Vegas on Dec. 5.

The record has been leaked and I got to hear some of it. Its ok. Sort of like Smashing Pumpkins "B" sides being released as a full record. Sort of generic. I'll give them credit for having the guy from Slint in the band. Slint was pretty fucking cool back in the day.

Seriously, who will actually go out and buy this CD?? Only a total homosexual wearing a pink hat and blue socks will be excited about this album.
i can see these guys and all the others gay in one place at the mci center in december. joy!

I took a listen to it too. ....I didn't like it. It sounds bland. ..Although I saw them a while back in Chicago @ the Doublr Door and liked the live aspect better. You can download some of the new stuff on pirate websites.

I hope Zwan doesn't offer as many slow songs as The Smashing Pumpkins. I bought Mellon Collie, and most of it was fucking boring. I don't care how deep the lyrics are, many of the songs were slow and boring. There were only a few good songs on the whole double album.
