Get the latest news via RSS Latest News NEW SITE CHANGES! - 10.6.2008
You may have noticed that over the past few months quiet changes have been made to the site. First we gave you new artist pages. Check out your favorite and you'll find widgets, videos, music, and much more. Plus they look great.

A few weeks back we also updated our Artists page. You'll see highlighted artists up top in blue. These change as artists are updated with news, video, and music. This is a great page to make your first port-of-call after the news section!

Today we've relaunched three other pages. Music and Video are all new. You can now embed all of our music and video posted to the site in your blog, web site, or MySpace/Facebook profiles. At the right of these pages you'll see charts driven by what YOU do on our site. You can also leave comments at all songs and videos, rate them, and favorite them in our new profile system (more on that in a sec).

The Releases page has gotten a huge makeover. Every album now has its own home page where you can see the available tracks, rate it, leave a review, or comment on others' reviews. Snazzy huh?

Finally, we just launched our new profile pages. If you're a subscriber to our email newsletters, you can log in, add your own picture, keep track of the latest updates on our site (and partner sites), follow your favorite videos and music, and tell us what bands you want to hear about.

Of course, many of these new features require that you be a member of the site to use them, so please join today!

We are, of course, in a beta phase and need your help to make the site work the best for YOU. If you see any problems or want to suggest changes to the new features, please send an email to webmaster@roadrunnerrecords.com with "NEW SITE REPORT" in the subject line. If you receive an error, please be as detailed as possible, including what page you were on, what browser you are using, and copy any error message you receive into the body of the email.

Please feel free to leave comments here below!

Cheers!

Jeremy Rosen

DVD UNDERGROUND - 5.18.2006
Last year marked the inaugural Sounds of the Underground Tour, which saw 17 of the best and most brutal metal acts around traverse the U.S. and Canada. On July 2nd, 2005, the tour hit the parking lot of the Starland Ballroom in Sayreville, NJ, and with it came almost 5,000 fans.

Metal bands like DevilDriver, A Life Once Lost and Strapping Young Lad hammered out their sets alongside hardcore acts like Madball and Throwdown in the sweltering 95+ degree midday heat. As the sun began to set, stalwarts like Chimaira, Poison The Well and From Autumn To Ashes played well into the darkness. All of their passion and power is captured in the Sounds of the Underground Live: Volume 1 DVD.

So check out this ECARD featuring 3-minute teaser of all the live footage and backstage chaos you'll find on the DVD, coming to stores June 20th.

MASTER! MASTER! - 3.22.2006
As reported in our partner site Blabbermouth, eight of metal's hottest bands have contributed music to a special re-recording of Metallica's Master of Puppets to mark the 20th anniversary of the landmark album's release, and 25th anniversary of Kerrang! Magazine.

The CD will be given away free with Kerrang! issue 1102, which goes on sale April 5. Magazines with the special CD will be available in the usual spots outside of the U.K. - at your favorite record store or book store if they normally import Kerrang!

Cleverly entitled Remastered, the CD features exclusive recordings by Trivium, Machine Head, Chimaira, Bullet For My Valentine, Fightstar, Mastodon, Funeral For A Friend, Mendeed, and had its sleeve-notes written by none other than Lars Ulrich.

"It's awesome to think that some of you guys weren't even born when we recorded Master of Puppets!" laughed Lars. "When we started thinking about Kerrang! honoring Master of Puppets with this tribute album, and saw the artwork and the line-up of bands we realized it was a big deal. We're honored that it's a record that's perceived as a milestone and a record that's been so inspiring to so many people, both fans and young bands like Trivium and Bullet For My Valentine. We're as excited to hear this as you guys are!"

Remastered track listing:

MACHINE HEAD - "Battery"
TRIVIUM - "Master Of Puppets"
MENDEED - "The Thing That Should Not Be"
BULLET FOR MY VALENTINE - "Welcome Home (Sanitarium)"
CHIMAIRA - "Disposable Heroes"
FIGHTSTAR - "Leper Messiah"
MASTODON - "Orion"
FUNERAL FOR A FRIEND - "Damage, Inc."

Visit www.trivium.org to check out Remastered's cover artwork.
