Roadrunner Records Supports Record Store Day!

What the hell is record store day you ask? Well, on Saturday, April 19th Independent Record stores across the world will be hosting live performances, band signings, and giving away records all day long. This isn't your normal instore, no way. This is an annual event that brings you, the music fan, closer to your favorite artists and to the music loving stores. The Dresden Dolls, The Parlor Mob, & De Novo Dahl will all be on hand at their local indies to meet you. Don't miss your chance to hang with the bands:

The Dresden Dolls:
The Dresden Dolls will be at Newbury Comics, Harvard Sq, from 2pm-5pm. Amanda will be working on a painting that will be raffled off to a lucky winner at the end of the day and Brian will be playing Mr. DJ. Both will be ready and willing to hang/chat with fans during the event. Lots of other surprises will be revealed that day, so if you can make it, this is an event not to be missed.

The Parlor Mob:
The Parlor Mob will be playing a pre-release in-store at Jack's Music Shoppe in their hometown of Red Bank, NJ at 2pm. On Tuesday evening De Novo Dahl celebrated the release of Move Every Muscle, Make Every Sound with a hometown (Nashville, TN) in-store performance at Grimey's New & Preloved Music, an AIMS coalition store, at 6pm. They played a full set to over 100 fans & friends. There was dancing, streamers, DND rice krispy treats and fun was had by all!

De Novo Dahl, an eclectic psych-pop crew that favors stunning Nudie suits as stage uniforms; names The Flaming Lips and Mercury Rev among its major influences; and has nothing against having, say, beach-themed shows in the dead of winter (of course, fans wearing bikinis and trunks get in for free). De Novo Dahl - whose moniker is a blending of Latin for "the new" and the last name of creative and visual author Roald Dahl (Charlie and the Chocolate Factory) - is poised to take its creativity to strange new heights. Self-produced and mixed by David Fridmann and Tony Dugan (Flaming Lips, Super Furry Animals, Belle & Sebastian), the outfit's sound has deservedly hit its sometimes glammy, sometimes retro stride. Mixing electronic layers with more spare vintage garage-rock sounds, DND arrives at a modern, completely engaging axis of experimentation and catchy songcraft.

Next week, Feb. 18, 19 & 20, De Novo Dahl is taking up residence at Pianos on the Lower East Side (that's NYC for anyone not from the area).
At 6:30PM on Tuesday (that's Feb 19) the band wants to hang with YOU at Soundfix Records in Williamsburg, BK before their show. Stop by and listen to their "so-new-its-not-even-out-yet" album Move Every Muscle, Make Every Sound (in stores March 25th) and take in a booty-shakin' acoustic set by members of the band. To sweeten the deal, we'll even have FREE pizza and cheap-ass drinks on hand.

All are welcome to join in the fun - there are no age restrictions in the land of De Novo Dahl! Afterwards, join the band and head back over the river (or under, depending on your choice of transport) to catch the full DnD experience!
