HEADBANGERS BALL: THE REVENGE CD IN STORES TODAY! - 4.11.2006
Well, it's finally here: MTV2 Headbangers Ball: The Revenge is in stores today!

And so it's time for us to (a) encourage you to go buy the sucker, and (b) wrap up our on-going poll with the participating artists (who have been providing their thoughts about this most hallowed of metallic institutions) with quite possibly the most important question of all:

"Who would win in an arm wrestling competition - Rikki Rachtman or Jamey Jasta?"

Their answers follow below, and here's where you can read the answers to our FIRST, SECOND, THIRD and FOURTH Q&A's.

"I wouldn't arm wrestle him but I would mud wrestle him! Ooooh"
- Jamey Jasta, wrestle-ee and HATEBREED vocalist

"If I were hanging out with the guys, there wouldn't be any arm wrestling going on just a lot of drinking and crack cocaine lite, because we have to look after our girlish figures."
- Zakk Wylde of BLACK LABEL SOCIETY

"It's hard to say who'd win in an arm wrestling contest. My vote may have to go to Jamey cuz him and the Hatebreed boys don't fuck around...but on the other hand Rikki used to have the WCW thing going on...who knows?"
- Joel Stroetzel of KILLSWITCH ENGAGE

"Jamey, no question."
- Nick Brooks of IT DIES TODAY

"Jamey I'd have to say."
- M. Shadows of AVENGED SEVENFOLD

"Well Rikki was kinda weak in the beginning if I remember correctly, but he seemed to bulk up later on. It depends on the era. But I think Rikki would get the win in a very close match."
- Mike Hasty of WALLS OF JERICHO

"I'm putting my money on Jasta!"
- Brock Lindow of 36 CRAZYFISTS

"Jamey would surely fuck Rikki up, no doubt!"
- Bjorn Gelotte of IN FLAMES

"Adam Curry!"
- Mark Hunter of CHIMAIRA

"Duh... Jamey!"
- TJ Miller of STILL REMAINS

"Rikki's from my generation so I'll have to go with the old guy."
- Jonathan Davis of KORN

"Jamey Jasta. Definitely."
- Peter Lindgren of OPETH

"I've seen Rikki lately and I think he's slimmed down a bit - not that he was ever a big guy, but he's looking pretty small these days. I'd have to go with Jamey since even if he lost, his band would probably then beat up everyone that saw the event."
- Chris Adler of LAMB OF GOD

Rikki probably drew all of his power from his hair. So now that it's gone, I think Jasta would be a shoe-in. Jasta can't say that he was eating wedding cake in the 'November Rain' video, though."
- Dave Peters of THROWDOWN

"I wouldn't wanna fuck with anyone in Hatebreed."
- Paolo Gregoletto of TRIVIUM

"Not sure. Jamey seems to be a bit more intimidating to me but you never know..."
- Sonny Moore of FROM FIRST TO LAST

"Jamey J. Of course!"
- Dez Fafara of DEVILDRIVER

"Jamey Jasta would win. Rikki had some pretty sweet hair though, however I don't think that would change the outcome of the arm wrestling..."
- Scottie Henry of NORMA JEAN

"I'd have to go with Jamey. I don't know if he's stronger. Rikki could be hitting the weight pile right now for all I know, but Jamey is ghetto prone. Even if he's losing, he might have one his boys shank you UConn style in your rib cage. Either that, or he'll scream some hard ass Hatebreed lyric about vengeance and respect up in Rikki's grill and make him lose concentration."
- Doc Coyle of GOD FORBID

"As I have never heard of 'Rikki Rachtman' supporting extreme Metal I'll go with Jamey Jasta!"
- Mike Amott of ARCH ENEMY

"I'm gonna say Jamey but just because i know him personally and i never had the chance to watch the show while Rikki was hosting it..."
- Cristiano Migliore of LACUNA COIL

"Well, I'll say Jamey. Only cuz when we were roommates he used to take me to his mom's house and make me sandwiches."
- Des Kensel of HIGH ON FIRE

"Jamey Jasta, hands down. I could take them both though..."
- Brennan Chaulk of HASTE THE DAY

"I'd have to go with the young and handsome Jasta. He's not the biggest fella but I've seen him brawl and he's no wussy!"
- Kirk Windstein of KINGDOM OF SORROW

"Jamey for sure, he has some guns and is from the tough Northeast. Much more brutal than sunset Rikki."
- Jesse Hasek of 10 YEARS

HEADBANGERS BALL ARTISTS ANSWER OUR QUESTIONS - 4.6.2006
In anticipation of the April 11th release of MTV2 Headbangers Ball: The Revenge, containing 2 CDs, 38 tracks, and 2 1/2 hours of the newest, biggest and baddest in heavy metal, we asked members of the bands involved a few questions about their own personal experiences with this most hallowed of metallic institutions.

The results of our FIRST, SECOND and THIRD Q&A's were posted already - now it's time for question number four:

"Tell us a bit about the song you contributed to the album. What is it about? What album did it come from?"

Their answers follow below - check back next week for the fifth and final Q&A, look for the CD in stores Tuesday, and visit the official ECARD to sample some tracks, pre-order the CD, and enter to win a trip to attend a taping of Headbangers Ball in New York City.

Now for the answers...

"In This River is Dimebag's song. We dedicate it to him every time we play it live."
- Zakk Wylde of BLACK LABEL SOCIETY

"A Bid Farewell (Live) is the song we contributed to the album. It's the first track off of our last record, The End of Heartache, as well as the first song on our new live DVD. It's a fun song for us to play...it has all the KsE elements about it...fast drums, chuggin' riffs, big chorus...I guess we're pretty simple at heart."
- Joel Stroetzel of KILLSWITCH ENGAGE

"Our song 'Severed Ties Yield Severed Heads' is about murder. I'll leave most of it open to interpretation though. It comes from our record The Caitliff Choir"
- Nick Brooks of IT DIES TODAY

"'Through the Fire and the Flames' is from our latest album Inhuman Rampage. We are basically trying to put all the styles of metal we like together into one song. Fast, melodic, catchy and everything you can think of which is cool! We try to make the best Metal... Out of this world!"
- Sam Totman of DRAGONFORCE

"'Burn it Down' is about challenging the people in your life that try and change who you are. It's about not being afraid and telling the world to fuck off...even if everyone is against you. It came from our album City of Evil."
- M. Shadows of AVENGED SEVENFOLD

"Well this song is new and will be on our upcoming Trustkill release. I'm really happy with how it came out. We were trying to keep the elements that we have always had while trying to get a new feel or a fresh approach on how to do things. It's a bit more structured than previous Walls Of Jericho songs and I think a lot better thought out. We are all extremely excited and happy with it."
- Mike Hasty of WALLS OF JERICHO

"The song we have on the CD is called 'I'll Go Until My Heart Stops.' It is a track off our upcoming new record titled, Rest Inside The Flames. The song is basically just a song about the blue collar life, paying dues in all aspects of your life and producing results."
- Brock Lindow of 36 CRAZYFISTS

"Our song on the album, 'Take This Life' is the first single off of our new album, Come Clarity. It's probably one of the fastest songs we have written with a chorus that just wont leave your head!"
- Bjorn Gelotte of IN FLAMES

"'Nothing Remains' is from our latest self-titled record and it is the perfect opener for both our CD and for Disc 2 of this compilation. I've been told it's like headlining second stage at Ozzfest... I don't know what that feels like but it's pretty cool to be Numero Uno."
- Mark Hunter of CHIMAIRA

"The song that we gave is called 'The Worst Is Yet To Come.' The song is about desperation and having no control of your life. We put out a video for it last year. It is off the album Of Love And Lunacy."
- TJ Miller of STILL REMAINS

"It came from our newest release, See You On The Other Side. It's one of the heaviest songs on this album and is one of my favorites, I mean I love the entire record but 'Liar' is a song that can really represent the whole album."
- Jonathan Davis of KORN

"'The Grand Conjuration' is off our album Ghost Reveries. It's a very simplistic song really (even though it's 10 minutes long). It's a very dark and satanic evil song, in its lyrics and everything."
- Peter Lindgren of OPETH

"This is the live version of 'Now You've got Something to Die For' taken from our DVD Killadelphia. It's a fairly political song dealing with our brothers and sisters currently engaged in war and our country's leadership or lack thereof. This and a few other tracks seemed to stand out on our last record Ashes of the Wake and the video was voted one of the best of the year. We figured what better way to show what this band is like live, which has always been our strong point, and add something a bit special to this release."
- Chris Adler of LAMB OF GOD

"Musically it was a little outside of what we had done before. As far as the lyrical content it was sort of a tribute to our fans, the people we've met on the road and the stories we've heard from them about the different obstacles in life they had overcome and what they had to do in order to get there. We wanted to make the lyrics broad enough to where everybody could relate to it in their own way and form their own meaning to the song. It's from our new album, Vendetta."
- Dave Peters of THROWDOWN

"The song is called 'A Gunshot to the Head of Trepidation' from our album Ascendancy. Lyrically the song is about child and spousal abuse. It isn't personally about anyone, it is just to make people aware about it and how it really hurts people mentally and physically."
- Paolo Gregoletto of TRIVIUM

"The song 'The Latest Plague' is a 'fuck you' anthem to the people in the industry and
other bands that have always looked down on us. We have always been the underdogs and got alot of shit for it."
- Sonny Moore of FROM FIRST TO LAST

"Having a week to come up with the lyrics after four bottles of red wine and 4 hours in the studio it was done. It was a pleasure to work with everyone on it."
- Dez Fafara of DEVILDRIVER

"Liarsenic is our song on this lil' compy. It's about fire and dragons and swords and lions and tigers and goblins and snakes and armor and boiling pots and battle axes and bears and stuff. It's pretty rad. It's off of our album O' God the Aftermath."
- Scottie Henry of NORMA JEAN

"The song we contributed is 'The End of the World' off of our new album, IV: Constitution of Treason. It's the opening track, and the heaviest song off the record. It's definitely in your face, and meant to grab your attention. The title from the song came out of the fact that the end of the song is so heavy that it's sounds like the world is ending. We wanted an anthem type song on the record like Metallica's 'Blackened' or Slipknot's 'Sic'. I think 'end of the world' type songs are pretty played out in metal, but this is our take on it. We probably won't be tackling the apocalypse lyrically anytime soon. Just maybe a personal holocaust."
- Doc Coyle of GOD FORBID

"'Nemesis' is a good representation of the Arch Enemy sound, fast and aggressive – and has shredding melodic guitar. The song is obviously about revenge - hence the title. However, the song is also about unity - it comes off our latest album Doomsday Machine."
- Mike Amott of ARCH ENEMY

"The track we have on this album is Our Truth, the first single off our new album Karmacode, which was released on April 4th. It is one of our favorite songs: it perfectly reflects what Lacuna Coil is today and one of the coolest song to play live... but I could say this about pretty much all the songs on Karmacode! Hahaha!"
- Cristiano Migliore of LACUNA COIL

"The song is 'Devilution' and it's from our album Blessed Black Wings. It's about politicians and their secret societies. We all know in real life that they’re all perverts and way more fucked up than any of us."
- Des Kensel of HIGH ON FIRE

"'When Everything Falls'. This is the title track for our new CD. 'When Everything Falls' is a song written to encourage people to stand strong through hard times. To stand firm to your individual beliefs and convictions. For me personally it is for me to stand strong with my
faith. For someone else it could be completely different."
- Brennan Chaulk of HASTE THE DAY

"Me and the young Jasta aka 'the Farian' as I like to call him, actually wrote the track up at Planet Z in Mass and its about realizing you are being drained or taken from. Like people taking from you whether it be physically or emotionally. It's basically about toxic relationships and being brought down by someone else’s misery. The track will appear on our album, which we will hopefully release later this year."
- Kirk Windstein of KINGDOM OF SORROW

"The track is called 'Wasteland' which came from The Autumn Effect which is about watching someone struggle with an addiction or life and trying to help. We also recently shot a video for 'Wasteland' and teamed up with Amnesty International which focuses on human rights. The video offers a brutal reality of the injustices that happens around the world and in our own country."
- Jesse Hasek of 10 YEARS

"The Hatebreed song is called 'To The Threshold' and it's off our new CD that we hope to have out this summer. The song is about challenging yourself mentally and physically. Overcoming addiction, abusive relationships, depression etc etc. I'd like the listener to interpret their own way but the underlying theme is that we will never know our true potential, unless we push ourselves to the brink and beyond."
- Jamey Jasta of HATEBREED
