MUTINY WITHIN TAPS JOSH WILBUR TO MIX DEBUT ALBUM

We are pleased to announce that Josh Wilbur will be mixing our debut album! Josh has mixed for many successful bands, such as Lamb Of God, Avenged Sevenfold, Trapt, Limp Bizkit, Atreyu, Fuel, and more.

Also this summer, our label and our management will be checking in to some touring opportunities for us, which are really exciting. We're so eager to hit the road and play these songs live!

The record...IS FINISHED!!

This has been quite an incredible journey, all the way from New Jersey to Florida, back to New Jersey, and then back to Florida again. We initially started this process on December 14th, 2008, and we've now just completed, May 7th, 2009.

Above all, we have to thank our producer Jason Bieler and his engineer Matt LaPlant. These guys are incredibly hard working and they really put their stamp on this record. The results have far exceeded our expectations and we can't wait for you all to hear.

MUTINY withIN THE STUDIO 013 (VIDEO & BLOG UPDATE)

Hey everyone,

1 week left to go and we're right on schedule! Chris and Drew only have a couple of songs left to record, and simultaneously, Dan and Brandon are going to explore some additional guitar textures. At some point this week, we're going to give everything a thorough listen with Jason and Matt, discussing some final thoughts and ideas.

Also this week, we're proud to announce that D'Addario Strings, Planet Waves Accessories, and Evans Drumheads have all officially endorsed Mutiny Within! We're excited to be on board and are eager to receive some of their newest products.

MUTINY withIN THE STUDIO 011

Today marks the beginning of Week 2 at Jason Bieler's studio in Pompano Beach, Florida. We've uploaded a bunch of brand new pictures for you guys to check out. Go to our pics section on MySpace and click on the photo album called "Studio 2 (Bieler)".

We've spent our first few days here listening through to our original pre-production with Jason and his engineer, Matt LaPlant. They listened to each song with us and pointed out which parts they liked and which could use improvement. After toying with new arrangements, we loaded up our drum sessions and applied them.

Since then, we've finalized the rhythm guitars and begun tracking bass, we're 6 songs in. This week, we're going to start tracking a little bit from everyone. Earlier, Drew started on keyboards. We've just had lunch and now Chris is about to step up to the microphone.

Overall, we're extremely impressed with Jason's sensibilities, he's going to help us enormously over the next few weeks.

BIELER BROS. ON MUTINY WITHIN

Bieler Bros. are excited to welcome Roadrunner Recording artist, Mutiny Within to Bieler Bros. Studios. The band will hit the Bieler compound in sunny South Florida this Monday and spend the following weeks finishing production on their upcoming Roadrunner debut with Jason Bieler at the helm of production duties. Jason relayed the following.

"I haven't really been inspired to produce many bands recently. After working with bands like SikTh and Skindred with Matt LaPlant ( our main producer/engineer @ BBR ) you get spoiled. I also get bored really easily, especially with faceless instrument owners with record deals and no talent. Quite frankly I would rather be playing hockey and have my head driven through the boards than sit through a session like that! Long story short, I have turned down project after project, fortunately Bieler Bros. success allows me to pick and choose what I work on. My friends at Roadrunner called me and sent me some demos and low and behold I was blown away! Mutiny Within shred from top to bottom and have a vast, expansive sense of melody. They also have a unyielding work ethic...an unbeatable combination in my opinion.

It is going to be great to work on a record that our friend Suecoff worked on, there are few more metallic dudes on the planet! This is going to be an epic record and it all starts on Monday...more news soon!"

MUTINY WITHIN BREAKS THE SILENCE

For the past 2 months, we've been at home in New Jersey, eager to continue the recordings for our debut record. We have all of the drumsand most of the guitars recorded from our sessions with producer Jason Suecof at Big Shot Studios and Audio Hammer Studios. However, we are stillleft to track all of the bass guitar, keyboards, and vocals. Inaddition, we're going to put the finishing touches on the rhythm andlead guitars. So we will be heading back down to Florida, but this time, to work with producer Jason Bieler (Sikth, Skindred, Dashboard Confessional, Nonpoint) at Bieler Bros. Studios in Pompano Beach. With his help, we hope to deliver the debut record that we're capable of.

Moving on, as of this month, Ibanez Guitars have officially endorsed Brandon, AJ, and our newest addition, Daniel Bage! In the upcoming weeks, we'll be updating our Myspace, Youtube, andRoadrunner pages with brand new photos, videos, and blogs from the studio.

Drew, Chris and AJ here. We ripped through the bass tracks yesterday, the tone sounds sick. My fingers are in pain, we used some seriously thick strings, almost like steel wire. Today, we'll get a lead guitar tone and begin to lay down the melodies and solos.

Periphery arrives today, they'll be tracking drums next door with the acclaimed Mark Lewis. It'll be cool to finally meet those guys, they fuckin' rock.

MUTINY withIN THE STUDIO 007

The rhythm guitars are almost finished! We've got 11 of 15 songs nailed. The tone sounds amazing and Jason has done an excellent job of pushing for the best performance.

Deicide is in the studio next to us, working on their new album with Mark Lewis. Their guitar tones are sounding great as well, and their drums are insane. Chris, being the only guy in our band who is interested in music production, has been learning a lot from Mark and Jason. Those guys really know their stuff.

Tommy Jones from The Studio arrived here last night, he'll be hanging with us until Wednesday night. He's got all of his video equipment with him, should make for some awesome footage.

We're all very proud of Jason. He's been doing a great job with his "hamster diet plan," he's losing a ton of weight. Also, Ron and him have officially quit smoking cigarettes! Good job guys, keep it up.

In the upcoming weeks, we'll try to upload some pictures and video footage from the studio. Gotta run, we're about to start recording the rhythm guitars for song #12.

MUTINY withIN THE STUDIO 006

It's Christmas Eve and we're back at Audio Hammer Studios. Jason's out on his "mega-trike" with Drew. The drums are done now and Bill has gone home to spend Christmas and his birthday with his family. We spent a while changing kit pieces until we had a kit that we were happy with. We had 6 snares to choose from and it took almost 2 days to get everything set up and ready. Bill got all the drums recorded in just over 2 days and they came out great. Everything sounds tight as hell and Bill really tore it up and beat the hell out of the kit. Big thanks to Ron, Ted, Mark and Jason for getting the killer sounds we got.

We're celebrating a "Jewish Christmas" this year by heading off to see a movie, then it's onto the guitars. It really doesn't feel like Christmas when we're sat outside in shorts and t-shirts though lol. Brandon and Jeff are working on some new guitar parts and deciding what guitars they want to use. We're all looking forward to hearing everything come together with some new riffs and solos.

Drew's become very attached to the Bagel shop on the corner near our hotel and Jason has lost 7lb on his "Franks Red Hot Sauce Diet" but the toilet's taking a hell of a pounding.

MUTINY withIN THE STUDIO 005

Hey everyone, we're finally in Florida and it's really great. The weather is warm and the people are awesome. We might get a break next week, so we're considering going to Universal Studios. I also want to bet on some Jai-Alai games before we leave.

Bill has already recorded 8 songs and we're hoping to get the other 7 done today. Jason Suecof and Mark Lewis have been awesome, the drum sound is killer and they're really getting the best performance out of Bill.

All of the other instruments and vocals will be tracked at Audio Hammer Studios, but we've been recording the drums at Big Shot Music Studios. The staff is great here and we've been having a lot of fun. We've been filming everything and should have some videos up soon for you guys to check out. But for now, check out these pictures:

MUTINY withIN THE STUDIO 004

We're currently on the airplane to Orlando, Florida. This is Bill and Drews 1st flight ever, and surprisingly, Bill slept through takeoff. He missed the whole thing.

Chris is currently sitting next to me revising his lyrics on his laptop. Well, wait, now hes just staring into space.

Brandon is playing checkers on the in flight touch screen. Him and Chris had a multi-player battle earlier, but Brandon quit shortly into it. Bill and Jeff are sleeping. Jeffs head is resting on Bills shoulder. Drew is 2 rows up from us, crammed in between 2 people. I know were going to hear all about that when we land.

Jason is meeting us at the airport to help us get our rent-a-car, get back to his studio, and then to our hotel. We've got 2 rooms reserved, 3 guys each.

Tonight, I think were just going to unpack and relax. Tomorrow, well begin working with the songs, starting with a CD that weve made for Jason, containing 20 of our favorites. Hell be sure to tell us what rocks and what sucks.

Cant wait to breathe in the Florida air! Should be landing shortly.

Next Monday, we'll be posting from Florida. That's right, 1 week to go! We've been playing through all of our songs, individually and collectively, in preparation. Everything sounds spot on and we can't wait to begin tracking with Jason.

MUTINY withIN THE STUDIO 002

Just two weeks to go!

We're planning to bring 20-25 songs with us to Florida. For our 1st week there, we'll work with Jason to help narrow down the list to 15 or so. In the meantime, we've been working hard at writing/recording new songs, revising old songs, and maintaining focus everyday. You only get one chance to make a debut record and we want to deliver.

Recently, we uploaded some new pictures to our Myspace page. Included are some live shots, a picture of our latest article in Metal Hammer Magazine, and photos of us hanging out with members from some of our favorite bands: Killswitch Engage, Lamb Of God, Devildriver, Soilwork, God Forbid, and Symphony X. Oh, and let's not forget Chris' vocal teacher, Melissa Cross!

Last week, The Metal Den conducted an interview with the 6 of us. Our interviewer, Rocket, asked some awesome questions! We'll post a link to it on our SMNnews.com forum and Myspace page this week.

Next Monday, we'll be sure to upload a video along with the post. It'll include footage of us recording our final pre-production songs, showing off our gear, and practicing our Le Parkour moves! See you then...

Part One of the Mutiny Within video diaries documenting the progression from pre-studio demo's to recording their debut album with producer Jason Suecof.

Hey everyone, AJ & Chris here for "Week #2." This update also includes a video, check it all out below:

Last Saturday, SMNnews.com created an official forum for Mutiny Within! On it, we've launched a thread called "Ask The Band." Post any questions that you have for us and we'll try to answer them daily.

Moving on, we've narrowed down the list of songs that we're planning to bring to the studio to 20. In addition to these 20, we're aiming to write and record 4 more songs before we head down to Florida.

TheCore.FM conducted an interview with us last Thursday. We discussed many things, including our career to date and prospects for the future. The host, Peter, gave us the chance to select some songs from our favorite bands to play on the air. We picked tracks from Scar Symmetry, Children Of Bodom, All That Remains, All Shall Perish, and Soilwork, amongst others.
