I HOPE YOU GOT RAILED TO DEICIDE

Someone announced their wedding to Roadrunner Records, which of course triggered a hail of new In the Pit activity this week.

First, check out the Mail Bag where people asked for Slipknot backstage passes, I gave my best wishes to the newly-engaged, and someone complimented us on the new Black Stone Cherry album.

Sam Totman said there were too many dudes at Mayhem (what else is new?), but he did manage to get snapped with a cute redhead. Check her out in the Fan Photos section.

We're keeping our poll on which RR band would make the best name for a sex act open. VOTE HERE. Currently 36 Crazyfists is in the lead.

Finally, we've gotten a lot of email complimenting us on the Skull Sessions podcast, so we opened up a place for you to comment publicly in this week's Forum.

DRAGONFORCE TO BRING BACK TRAMPOLINE

MetalSucks.net has a sweet, lengthy interview with ZP from DragonForce, in which he reveals plans to bring back the trampoline, expounds upon touring with Chimaira and Killswitch Engage, and much more. Give it a looksee and leave some feedback for the fine folks at MetalSucks.net.

WANT TO SEE SLIPKNOT ABSOLUTELY FREE?

Okay, we're screwing with you just a bit. Head on over to The Gauntlet to see live Slipknot photos from the Glen Helen Pavilion stop of the Mayhem tour on July 13th.

Don't forget, the band's first new video in years, "Psychosocial", hits the small screen this Friday at 8PM on FN MTV Premieres.

SUNDAY ROADRUNNER BLOG ROUNDUP

Corey Bayless over at Citizen Image got deep in the pit at the opening day of the Mayhem festival. Read about Slipknot, Airbourne, and DragonForce. (UPDATE: Seems to have fixed some of his factual errors.)

Speaking of DragonForce, www.thetanooki.com reports on the band opening a set on the festival in California with a certain video game theme song. Find out that DragonForce opener and tell The Tanooki if the band's ever played their own songs on Guitar Hero.

THE HEFF BLOG #1

What is up Mayhem fans?!

My name is Heff and I will be your official Roadrunner Mayhem guide throughout the tour. I come to you from Seattle, WA, where in just 2 days, we will see blistering performances from Machine Head, the drunken debauchery that is Airbourne, insane power riffs from DragonForce and the return of The Nine: Slipknot. Though besides watching these amazing bands play live, Roadrunner Records has a huge surprise for you.

How would you like to watch Slipknot's set from the pit or having a chance to meet the bands? What about hearing new & unreleased music from Slipknot, DragonForce, Killswitch Engage and Dream Theater? Well stop by the Roadrunner Records tent and sign and sign up for our sampler! While you are there, say hello and chill out for awhile.

Be sure to check back for future updates!

See you on the road,

--Heff--
