NEW SITE CHANGES!
You may have noticed that over the past few months quiet changes have been made to the site. First we gave you new artist pages. Check out your favorite and you'll find widgets, videos, music, and much more. Plus they look great.
A few weeks back we also updated our Artists page. You'll see highlighted artists up top in blue. These change as artists are updated with news, video, and music. This is a great page to make your first port-of-call after the news section!
Today we've relaunched three other pages. Music and Video are all new. You can now embed all of our music and video posted to the site in your blog, web site, or MySpace/Facebook profiles. At the right of these pages you'll see charts driven by what YOU do on our site. You can also leave comments at all songs and videos, rate them, and favorite them in our new profile system (more on that in a sec).
The Releases page has gotten a huge makeover. Every album now has its own home page where you can see the available tracks, rate it, leave a review, or comment on others' reviews. Snazzy huh?
Finally, we just launched our new profile pages. If you're a subscriber to our email newsletters, you can log in, add your own picture, keep track of the latest updates on our site (and partner sites), follow your favorite videos and music, and tell us what bands you want to hear about.
Of course, many of these new features require that you be a member of the site to use them, so please join today!
We are, of course, in a beta phase and need your help to make the site work the best for YOU. If you see any problems or want to suggest changes to the new features, please send an email to webmaster@roadrunnerrecords.com with "NEW SITE REPORT" in the subject line. PIVOTAL ALLIANCE RATES CONQUER PERFECT
That's right Soulfly tribe followers, Conquer, has been reviewed by metal webzine Pivotal Alliance.
"Who would have thought that by the end of summer of 2008 we'd have not one but two Max Cavalera recordings. Of course the first being the album Inflikted with his brother Iggor and the Cavalera Conspiracy and the hot off the presses Soulfly's Conquer. As expected, like with previous Soulfly efforts there are guests featured on Conquer."

SLIPKNOT ON THE HEADBANGERS BALL TONIGHT
We're gonna take a break from watching videos on MetalInjection today to give you a post on tonight's Headbangers Ball lineup. The blog tells us Terror will be back again after fan reactions and give you an okay booty shot of someone wearing Terror underwear.
Not to slag our buddies over there, but if you're gonna post an ass shot to draw readers, you could conceivable pick one more finely-shaped. (Unless that's the derrier of one of your girlfriends. In which case: nice work!)

WhiteChapel is about the only good thing worth watching the show for. It would be fucking awesome if they played the Carcass vid for Heartwork, but they always skip straight to commercials and don't play the vintage videos, so I'm not holding my breath on them playing it. The vids for Shadows Fall and Slipknot might be cool too. One thing is for sure...they NEED to stop playing that vid for Boris. God they fucking suck. They play that shit shingle of a song every fucking week. That Municipal Waste vid is getting old too.

If you don't like Slipknot... Piss off!!! They are doing their thing. I love all of their cds and think that they are progressing as a band. I bet the people whining that they suck now are the same people whining when the rumors came out that Slipknot was going to break up.I'm glad they keep coming up with good music. Grow with it or just forget it. But you will leave it, you'll miss some great music. Plus they are one of the few bands that let you preview some of their songs before hand. A lot of you whiners out there wouldn't even buy the cd if you didn't hear a top ten song first. Slipknot has and always will put out a great cd. That I can guarantee.

to be totally honest i think corey look kick ass, because with his mask its like a blank canvas, you dont have to look at his face and judge what hes singing about by the way he looks e.g. happy, sad, pissed etc. also it ties in with what he says 'All Hope Is Gone' - dont try to work us out - coz everytime you think you have we just keep you guessing. The mask is like a reflection of the message, you can try and guess whats going on but you cant.

This line-up isn't too bad. Those bastards better play the Carcass vid. There's tons of great vintage metal vids out there that need to be seen. Slipknot, Shadows Fall, Municipal Waste, and Soulfly are the best vids, that I've already seen, in tonight's HBB. I want to see what the other vids are like before I say anything about them, Except Boris I've seen their vid and THEY FUCKIN' SUCK. Boris is not even metal, to me it sounds like boring punk music. In fact If anyone sees that shitty vid, look at the chick that's playing guitar. she looks as bored and frustrated as I am when I'm watching their piece of shit vid.

Whitechapel and terror only two good bands here. Terror isnt metal anyways there hardcore which now adays is a lot better metal. And even all the all good metal bands coming out now a days have a core sound. Like Whitechapel. Bands like slipknot and shadows fall is beggeiner metal. I used to loves those bands when i was 14 and just getting into metal. destroyer of senes used to be my fav song.

The last two vids sucked. The drums are so fast I can't even hear the guitars in most parts.(whitechapel and Arise and Ruin). That shit is not even music as far as I'm conserned (F.Y.I.- I'm a 14 year guitarist that has taken college courses on music production and would rather make up my own shit than play other bands shit) I can't understand why so many band have to play fast all the time. Playing fast is ONE LITTLE PIECE of the giant puzzle that is music. If I wanted to hear fast bullshit I'd pick up my guitar and play fast bullshit. After 14 years, Hardcore and really fast B.S is the easiest to play and I'm not impressed.
P.S- If it weren't for more mainstream bands metal would die. They bring newer fans/generations into the metal scene that other wise would not care and they prepare the listeners ears for more complex music later on down the line. Also those mainstream know more about song writing in general than more obscure technical bands because they involve more elements of music then just playing fast.

Excuse me chris but i think your mistaken, a band like NECROPHAGIST, Into the moat or between the buried and me know a lot more about music then a Disturbed or Slipknot. And for your information most of the those bands are classicly trained too. They have moments of Jazz parts in a lot of their songs and attened music school just like yourself. I agree with you on the that mainstream metal is what keeps metal alive but real fans progress into the crazy stuff.

SOULFLY - THE TRIBE RETURNS TO CONQUER!
The Soulfly tribe returns, armed and ready for battle with the skull- clobbering new metal masterwork dubbed simply Conquer. The album will see release on July 29. Featuring the same line up from 2005's Dark Ages -vocalist/guitarist Max Cavalera, guitarist Mark Rizzo, bassist Bobby Burns and drummer Joe Nunez- Soulfly are one the premiere bands that helped revive the genre in the late ‘90s and through the new millennium, thanks to the way they force metal, world music and Brazilian culture to collide and subsequently explode on your speakers!

Max has the greatest vox in METAL, and the greatest vision of what metal should be. Add some insane percussion with Nunez take it with a mix of down-right brutal bass blasts by Burns beaten vigorusly and throw in some Rizzo for a meyhem of melodic flavor then finish it off with another side of Max with rhythem of reckless abandonment. All these ingredients cooks up a metal like no other.

Dude...what the heck are HELLCIUS AND PAULO talking about! Obviously they are not true Sepultura, Soulfly or Cavalera Conspiracy fans; or I should say Max Cavalera fans!!! When it comes to Sepultura, Max has broadened his musical and vocal horizons to say the least with Soulfly. Although Sepultura and Soulfly riffs and drums are a bit different, depending on the song, nevertheless it is true Brazilian style (Max style) when it comes to his music and the message he is trying to portray. In many instances, in my humble opinion and the opinions of music critics, Soulfy and now Cavalera Conspiracy, compare the sound and lyrics to Sepultura. But, Sepultura was a great band, but that is done and over with...who knows, maybe a reunion, maybe not. But Soulflly and Cavalera Conspiracy are top-billed bands who can hang with anyone. Soulfly is not girls metal accorindg to PAULO and with HELLCIUS, dude didn't you know that Max's belief in GOD is used in Sepultura and Soulfy albums. Both of you need to research the band before making comments.

I would just like to start off by saying that Brad is retarded! If you've ever even listened to Dillinger Escape Plan, you would see that the only band that they sound close to is Faith No More because of the major Mike Patton influence. Ire Works was the #2 metal album of 2007 in Revolver. Think before you post, dumbass. I do agree with molotov and Matt that MTV and the rest of the music channels have gone downhill majorly. Subterranean sucks and FNMTV is pretty much worse. They should scrap FNMTV and give that hour to Headbanger's Ball and just play the new Slipknot video on HBB. Please MTV2, do that. Slipknot and the Jonas Brothers do not need to share the same stage or there will be blood.

I find it really hard to believe that MTV (the channel that started out in the 80s as a channel that played MUSIC VIDEOS) actually has a show that plays videos on it in this day and age. And to hear that they are premiering a new Slipknot video on regular MTV is unreal. This is the attempt to get people to watch MTV once again, but it will be a 5 min short lived effort. Once the Psychosocial video is done playing, people will go back to their regularly scheduled reality bullshit... Fuck MTV. Just let it die already. The only channels that play any videos at all anymore are the Music Choice channels, on which you can choose the videos you want to watch, and they will play. Simple as that.

I'd like to start of and state Ratt is retarded for being a prick and not accepting the simple concept of an opinion. Just because it was ranked high in a magazine poll, doesn't make it a good album. Since I enjoy all forms of metal (except the 80's hair bands, with the exception Dee Snider and Brett Michaels as personality figures not misic) I don't care who's on. But emo and metal...fuck not even emo and rock... should be played in the same time frame anywhere. I didn't have a long lived stint of being able to watch HBB, but I did enjoy the fact it was two hours, but didn't play as heavy/extreme bands as Uranium. I totally fucking miss Uranium, despite there was too much interview time, not enough metal.
