DevilDriver recently played in Germany with Machine Head, and they shared some backstage and tour-bus photos with the readers of Metal Hammer, posting a gallery on the magazine's website. AllAxess.com, the website launched by DevilDriver guitarists Jeff Kendrick and Mike Spreitzer, has re-launched with a contest that will have all guitar nerds and fans drooling. The contest includes three levels of prizes.

When we arrived at the office this morning, an awesome surprise was waiting in our email inbox - photos and video from Machine Head's 11/1 concert in Oslo, Norway, the first show of their European tour...sent to us by Robb Flynn himself! Here's a link to the photo gallery... And here's a short clip of the intro to the band's set, shot from the audience. Yeah, they play kinda loud. DevilDriver performed at the Regency Center in San Francisco, CA on September 26, as part of their just-completed tour with Arch Enemy, Skeletonwitch and Chthonic. DevilDriver frontman Dez Fafara announced on Twitter that he's making a guest appearance on the upcoming Soulfly album (which has neither title nor release date at this point, just so you know). DevilDriver have created a lyric video for "You Make Me Sick," from their latest CD, Beast, and it's making its world premiere at the horror site Bloody-Disgusting.com. If you're wondering why a horror website is the right venue for a lyric video, well, go watch and you'll figure it out.

DevilDriver guitarist Mike Spreitzer had to sit out the band's recent South American tour after suffering a seizure, but he's back on the road with them now, and he's contributed to MetalSucks.net's "Rigged" column, where guitarists talk about their onstage equipment. Says Spreitzer, "My live rig signal chain starts with my ESP MS-1 guitar loaded with EMG 81 pickups and Dunlop Strings (sizes 10-13-17-30-42-63). We usually tune to Drop-C except for a few songs that we play in D-Standard.

Sometimes you can lose track of all the stuff you've done because you're just too busy doing it. The year's far from over - we've got albums from Opeth, Machine Head, The Parlor Mob, Megadeth and Nickelback still to come - but it's already been a damn strong one in terms of releases.
