In addition to the exhaustive look they took at Dream Theater guitarist John Petrucci's guitars and gear, Premier-Guitar.com also made the time, while they were backstage at the group's Rosemont, IL show, to go through bassist John Myung's equipment with his tech. At only a little over seven minutes, this isn't as amazingly in-depth as the Petrucci clip, but it's still an extremely informative virtual tour for any bassist. Check it out below!

Premier-Guitar.com sent a video crew to the Dream Theater show in Rosemont, IL to go through guitarist John Petrucci's rig, including all the guitars he plays onstage, the amps, and everything else. It's an exhaustive explanation that's pretty much for serious gearheads only - but if you're a Dream Theater fan, the odds are pretty good that you're also a serious gearhead, so enjoy all 17 minutes of tech talk!

It should come as no surprise to anyone that Dream Theater drummer Mike Mangini plays a big kit. But when the guys from MetalSucks.net asked him to break it down for them, in an installment of their popular "Rigged" column, even they weren't expecting it to require multiple posts to encompass everything he hits or steps on during the course of a Dream Theater show or recording session. Here's a link to Part 1, where he discusses everything pedal-operated (bass drums and hi-hats) and his snare drums (yes, there are a few). Here's a link to Part 2, where he takes you through his cymbals and toms. And finally, here's a link to Part 3, which deals with electronics and other trickery.
