At the crux of violence and morality, there is Faust - a gripping, modern take on the classic tale of one man who sells his soul to the devil . . . and must accept the horrific consequences. Based upon the underground, yet immensely popular comic book by Tim Vigil, Faust is not an easy film by any means, It jams a spike between conventionally held notions of good and evil. Directed and produced by Brian Yuzna (Reanimator 1 & 2, The Dentist, Honey, I Shrunk the Kids), Faust takes the tale of the tragic hero, Faust, and adapts it for the screen in a film replete with enough pathos and violence to ensure its place in the annals of modern cult cinema.
Now, Yuzna teams up with Roadrunner Records to assemble a soundtrack that is every bit as brutal as the film to which it serves as a counterpart. Virtually a "who's who" of the Roadrunner roster, and filled with track after track of crunching guitar riffs, feverish screams, and enough bombast to satisfy the appetite of even the hungriest metal fans. Combining tracks by gold recording artists Coal Chamber and Type-O Negative with up-and-comers Spineshank and Glassjaw and some Roadrunner greats like Fear Factory and Sepultura, Faust serves as both a retrospective and a peek into the future for fans of the Roadrunner label.
