Megadeth performed at Yankee Stadium in New York last Wednesday, September 14, part of only the second "Big Four" show (with Metallica, Slayer and Anthrax) to be held in the U.S. It was a near thing; as we reported last week, Dave Mustaine nearly didn't make it due to health problems he's currently taking care of at home in Arizona.

Video: Megadeth's Dave Mustaine Talks Neck Surgery

 
Megadeth very nearly didn't perform at the "Big Four" concert at New York's Yankee Stadium on Wednesday, September 14. Frontman Dave Mustaine injured his neck while on the Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Festival tour this summer, and he's scheduled to go into surgery this week, with an expected two-month recovery time that may interfere with future tour dates.

Megadeth bassist Dave Ellefson posted this video of himself with Anthrax's bassist and drummer, Frank Bello and Charlie Benante, at Yankee Stadium in New York, prior to last night's "Big Four" concert, which was attended by over 40,000 screaming fans. There were rumors leading up to the show that Megadeth might cancel due to injuries Dave Mustaine had sustained on the Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Festival tour earlier in the summer, but he played through the pain and the band delivered a ferocious set, including the first single from their forthcoming album TH1RT3EN, "Public Enemy No. 1."
