Opeth frontman Mikael Åkerfeldt was recently interviewed by the website RushOnRock, and talked about the recent change in his vocal style (you may have noticed there are no death growls on the band's latest album, Heritage) and fan response to the new material, among other subjects. Says Åkerfeldt, "I’ve never turned my back on anything and I’m not going to start now. It’s not like I don’t like that style of vocal delivery any more.
