Ratt's lead vocalist and lead guitarist, Stephen Pearcy and Warren DeMartini, recently worked on a song for an upcoming Dave Grohl project. The photo above appeared on Ratt's Facebook page yesterday, and Pearcy tweeted about it afterward, confirming that it was for something of Grohl's, and not a part of the next Ratt album. .
Nicaraguan-born, New York City-based artist Franck de las Mercedes has begun a new series of paintings under the heading "A Quiet Riot: Latinos Making Noise in Hard Rock and Heavy Metal." For decades, Latinos have been a vital part of the worldwide metal scene, including many who never make their cultural identity an explicit part of their musical persona (like, who knew Stryper's Oz Fox was Latino?) and many who do - like Soulfly and Cavalera Conspiracy leader Max Cavalera, pictured above.
