Trivium singer/guitarist Matt Heafy says, "I would love to do something with Lady Gaga or Skrillex, things that are just totally different or even Angelo (Badalamenti) — I’m not going to try to pronounce his last name. He’s the guy that scores all of David Lynch’s movies, he makes really intense, just ambient noise textures, I think he would be really cool to collaborate with." It's all part of his attraction to "doing things that are opposites," according to an interview published today on Loudwire. Heafy wants to break out of the metal mold, because he feels like no one else is doing anything truly new at the moment.

Trivium has released new shirts and hoodies for their current North American tour with Dream Theater. Pictured above is their "Shattered Skies" T-shirt, which has tour dates on the back and is currently only $12.00 at their website.

Jackson Guitars recently delivered a prototype of Trivium guitarist Corey Beaulieu's signature model to him, backstage at the band's L.A. show with Dream Theater.

Trivium will be signing at Soundcheck Hollywood, a record store in Hollywood, California, this Sunday, September 25, starting at 2 PM. Be there! Trivium's In Waves is in stores now, and the band will be hitting the road very soon with Dream Theater.

Today at 4 PM EST, Matt Heafy, Corey Beaulieu and Nick Augusto of Trivium will be participating in a live video chat from the studios of WJRR radio in Orlando, Florida. The band will talk with DJ Pat Lynch and perform their new single "Built to Fall." You can watch the live webcast at this link, starting at 4 PM. Trivium will be touring North America with Dream Theater, in support of their new album In Waves, throughout September and October.

Sometimes you can lose track of all the stuff you've done because you're just too busy doing it. The year's far from over - we've got albums from Opeth, Machine Head, The Parlor Mob, Megadeth and Nickelback still to come - but it's already been a damn strong one in terms of releases.

Trivium singer/guitarist Matt Heafy conducted a guitar clinic back in early August, when the group was in London to open for Iron Maiden and build excitement for the release of their latest CD In Waves. We first told you about this event some time ago, but now we've got the footage, courtesy of our friends at Roadrunner UK, so here it is.

The week their latest album, In Waves, was released, Trivium issued a challenge to their fans via GuitarWorld.com: cover the title track or "Dusk Dismantled" on guitar (including the solos) and you could win an autographed copy of the disc. He writes, "In this lesson, I will be chatting about the fundamentals of rhythm guitar playing; chatting about song-writing, the songs that helped shape my rhythm guitar style and exercise routine, and creating some hybrid-exercise-riffs based off of some Trivium songs."
