Within Temptation

Within Temptation recently came to America for a short run of extremely well-received performances, including one at New York City's Terminal 5. Naturally, we couldn't let them leave without grabbing someone from the band for a short interview about their latest album, The Unforgiving, and all the multi-media awesomeness connected with it, including the conceptual videos and the comic book.

Sometimes you can lose track of all the stuff you've done because you're just too busy doing it. The year's far from over - we've got albums from Opeth, Machine Head, The Parlor Mob, Megadeth and Nickelback still to come - but it's already been a damn strong one in terms of releases.

Within Temptation vocalist Sharon den Adel was interviewed by MetalUnderground.com the other night, when the band was in Worcester, Massachusetts to perform at the Palladium. In the interview, she discusses a broad range of subjects, including their status as innovators within the female-fronted metal genre, the creative process behind the band's newest album The Unforgiving, and more. Says den Adel, "We were one of the first to make this kind of music, together with the bands you mentioned [Theatre of Tragedy and Nightwish], but the bands that came afterwards they still have their own identity.

Within Temptation performed a three-song acoustic set at the Lowlands Festival in their native Netherlands this weekend. They played three songs: "What Have You Done," "Faster," and "Sinéad" from their most recent album, The Unforgiving.

Within Temptation have collaborated with Beyond Comics on a comic book adaptation of their latest album, The Unforgiving, and the first issue (written by Steven O'Connel and drawn by Romano Molenaar) will be making its premiere at Baltimore Comic-Con this weekend, August 20 and 21.
