Fresh off the heels of a stellar MTV Unplugged performance, Young the Giant has announced dates for their 2012 headline tour.  The tour will begin in San Diego on February 10, 2012 and will go through mid-April. Young the Giant have recorded an "Unplugged" performance for MTV, which will air on Wednesday, November 9 at 7PM EST at unplugged.mtv.com. Young the Giant continue their series of "In the Open" performance clips with this version of "Typhoon," recorded live and acoustic under a bridge in their home state of California. As frontman Sameer Gadhia writes on their website, "'Typhoon' was filmed in Dana Point, CA under a bridge that serves as the eternal doorway to the downward sloping path to the ocean.

Young the Giant will be taping an acoustic performance for MTV this Friday, October 21, in New York. The band will perform selections from their self-titled debut album, as well as a cover song, for an episode of "MTV Unplugged" which will debut online at Unplugged.MTV.com at 7 PM EST/4 PM PST on November 7. Young the Giant told Billboard: "To be included among such an acclaimed class of performers that have played before us is such an honor.
