Although Zombie is also busy these days directing movies, he told The Pulse of Radio he can always count on his current bandmates to return. "Whenever I'm making a movie they go off and do whatever they want, but they're all part of this band," he said. "We just did all of our photos for the tour and stuff. It's the same band, it's just that I know those guys get itchy to play."

Support on the tour will come from NEKROMANTIX and CAPTAIN CLEGG & THE NIGHT CREATURES. The latter band appeared in Zombie's latest film, "Halloween II".

The trek will include a very special Halloween event on October 31 in Hollywood, California hosted by Uncle Seymour Coffins, also seen in "Halloween II".

The "Hellbilly Deluxe 2" tour will mark Zombie's return to the road after moderate box office success as the writer and director of "Halloween II" (Dimension). His R-rated, animated feature, "The Haunted World Of El Superbeasto", was made available everywhere on DVD and Blu-ray September 22.

Zombie will return to the stage on October 18, when he co-headlines Loud Park festival in Japan with SLAYER that will also feature PAPA ROACH.

"Halloween II", the follow-up to Zombie's successful 2007 remake of the original 1978 horror classic, came in at No. 3 in its opening weekend, earning $17 million at the box office. That's far less than the $31 million his first "Halloween" flick did two years ago.

Zombie's next film will be a remake of "The Blob", which he is slated to begin shooting in the spring of 2010.

SEPULTURA Guitarist Interviews Rock Legend JERRY LEE LEWIS; Video Available - Sep. 27, 2009
SEPULTURA guitarist Andreas Kisser interviewed 73-year-old rock legend Jerry Lee Lewis for a Brazilian TV program called "Altas Horas" when Jerry played Porto Alegre, Brazil on September 16, 2009. Watch the chat below.

An early pioneer of rock and roll music, Lewis was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1986 and his pioneering contribution to the genre has been recognized by the Rockabilly Hall of Fame. In 2004, Rolling Stone magazine ranked him No. 24 on their list of the "100 greatest artists of all time." In 2003, his box set "All Killer, No Filler: The Anthology" made it to No. 242 on the magazine's list of "500 greatest albums of all time."

Kisser's solo debut, "Hubris I & II", was released on June 15 via Holland's Mascot Records. A two-disc set, the self-produced effort was recorded in part at A Voz do Brasil studio in São Paulo, Brazil.

Kisser previously stated about the album, "I'm very pleased with the result and I'm excited to hear it all done. It was a long process, a learning process and a great experience. It's a musical journey through the influences I had for last 15 years of my life and at the same time it's very different from everything I did so far."

"Hubris" comes from Greek word "hybris," which means "excessive pride, wanton violence."

MATT SORUM And MIKKEY DEE On MOTÖRHEAD's Tour Bus; Video Available - Sep. 27, 2009
Video footage of former GUNS N' ROSES and current VELVET REVOLVER drummer Matt Sorum and MOTÖRHEAD's Mikkey Dee hanging out on MOTÖRHEAD's tour bus prior to Sorum filling in for Dee on the Lemmy-fronted band's current North American tour can be viewed below.

Sorum played about two-and-a-half-weeks' worth of shows with MOTÖRHEAD so that Dee could take part in "Kändisdjungeln", the Swedish version of the popular U.K. and U.S. reality-TV show "I'm a Celebrity…Get Me out of Here!".

"I was absolutely blown away and was very honored to get the call," Sorum told U.K.'s Classic Rock magazine. "I got a text from [MOTÖRHEAD bassist/vocalist] Lemmy and called him back right away and said, 'Why are you calling me?' [laughs] I was at home by the pool, rubbing lotion on my lovely girlfriend, and now here I am. I manned up!"

"Matt was right up for it immediately," Lemmy told Classic Rock. "That's really rare; a lot of guys wouldn't do it on short notice."

"It's been one of the most challenging things I've ever done," added Sorum. "It's the best tour I've ever done: I've lost a few pounds and got about 25 blisters, which is great!"

Sorum made his first appearance with MOTÖRHEAD in Washington D.C. on September 8, after only one rehearsal.

MEGADETH's CHRIS BRODERICK Interviewed By WatchMojo.com; Video Available - Sep. 27, 2009
WatchMojo.com recently conducted an interview with MEGADETH guitarist Chris Broderick. Watch the chat below.

As previously reported, Broderick will take part in a live phone interview with Metal Assault Radio on Monday, September 28, 2009, at 4:00 p.m. EST (1:00 p.m. PST).

You can listen to the chat online at www.metalassaultradio.com.

MEGADETH and SLAYER will team up for the Canadian Carnage East five-date tour in November. The trek kicks off on November 8 in Moncton, NB and wraps up in Toronto on November 13. The tour will feature MACHINE HEAD and SUICIDE SILENCE, and will see MEGADETH and SLAYER alternating the closing spot. Tickets go on sale this Friday, September 18 at 10:00 a.m. local time.

MEGADETH and SLAYER laid waste to four Canadian cities earlier in June when they joined up for the first Canadian Carnage, marking the first time the bands had shared a stage anywhere in 18 years.

MEGADETH's new album, "Endgame", sold 45,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release to debut at position No. 9 on The Billboard 200 chart. The CD shifted 8,200 units in Canada to land at No. 4 on the country's official chart.

MEGADETH's previous CD, "United Abominations", opened with around 54,000 copies in the U.S. to debut at No. 8. This was more than the 46,000 first-week tally registered by its predecessor, "The System Has Failed" (which landed at No. 18 on The Billboard 200 chart), and was a bit less than the 61,000 opening number of 2001's "The World Needs A Hero" (No. 16).

ALICE IN CHAINS Drummer Compares Having New Album Illegally Downloaded To Prison Rape - Sep. 27, 2009
Tim Virgin of Chicago's Q101 radio station conducted an interview with ALICE IN CHAINS when the band played an acoustic set at the city's Hard Rock Cafe on Saturday, September 19. During the chat, the ALICE IN CHAINS members were asked for their thoughts on their new album, "Black Gives Way To Blue", being leaked on the Internet two weeks prior to the CD's official release date. "You know it's gonna happen 'cause it's part of [how the industry works nowadays], but you just hope it doesn't happen too far in advance," drummer Sean Kinney replied.

"It's nothing unique [to this band]," he continued. "[But] we hadn't been through it [before], 'cause we hadn't made a record in 14 years, so I think that's the initial shock. It's like, 'What?'"

He added, "We were talking about it earlier... It's like going to prison — you're know you're gonna get raped, but you're not ready for it. You think you're all prepared for it, but you're not really prepared for how violent that rape is. It's like, 'Wow! He's really giving it to me.'"

Tim Virgin's interview with ALICE IN CHAINS can be viewed below.

ALICE IN CHAINS recorded "Black Gives Way to Blue" with producer Nick Raskulinecz (FOO FIGHTERS, RUSH) at the Northridge, California studio of FOO FIGHTERS frontman Dave Grohl.

In their first late-night network performance in more than 10 years, ALICE IN CHAINS will appear on ABC's "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" for two consecutive nights on Tuesday, September 29 and Wednesday, September 30 at 12:05 a.m. ET/PT. The appearances follow ALICE IN CHAINS' sold-out national tour and coincide with the highly anticipated September 29 release of "Black Gives Way to Blue" (Virgin/EMI).

The much-buzzed-about event kicks off on Tuesday, September 29 on the Bud Light Outdoor Stage — the largest outdoor stage among the late night talk shows — with an electrifying performance in the middle of Hollywood. On Wednesday, September 30, ALICE IN CHAINS will perform a special intimate acoustic set on the late night's indoor lobby stage. Each performance will include one song from new album "Black Gives Way to Blue" and one classic hit. The September 29 show will see the group performing their brand-new, chart-topping lead single "Check My Brain" — hailed by Spin as "one of the catchiest songs of ALICE IN CHAINS' history" — and the show on the 30th will spotlight new acoustic track, "Your Decision".

MEGADETH Bassist Discusses Making Of 'Endgame' - Sep. 27, 2009
Steven Rosen of Ultimate-Guitar.com recently conducted an interview with MEGADETH bassist James Lomenzo. A few excerpts from the chat follow below.

Ultimate-Guitar.com: Back when you were playing with WHITE LION, could you have connected the dots to see yourself ultimately playing in a band like MEGADETH?

Lomenzo: At the time I joined WHITE LION, I couldn't see myself doing that. Truly. Because before that I was playing with Bobby Rondinelli's brother and had actually gone in and replaced Felix Pappalardi. OK? Now that's where I was coming from; that kind of vibe. Back then, I was a big '60s, '70s muso.

Ultimate-Guitar.com: A Felix Pappalardi and Jack Bruce kind of guy?

Lomenzo: That kind exactly. Turn up the amp and make it bark. That's where I came from so you have to understand that going into WHITE LION — I loved pop music too, I really love all kinds of music and I used to play French horn in high school and college — I had a really well rounded outlook on music totally. So it just seemed like every time something came up like the WHITE LION thing, I understood pop music; I kind of understood '80s metal although it was just beginning. It was kind of just doing what it was doing there. Not my favorite music because of the simplicity and because of oftentimes the invisibility of the bass guitar in that music. After we made that first record, I was floored 'cause I was like, "I can't hear my bass; what happened?" But nonetheless the record did very well, the band did very well, and it set me on the next course. I wouldn't have chosen MEGADETH especially back then because in my mind's eye, the bass — and I have all respect for David Ellefson 'cause he's actually created a signature sound for and with MEGADETH — wasn't my style. Again, I was more into the blues thing and I was never into following the guitars quite as much. I always liked the bass pulling against and making its own space which is why I love three-piece bands. To bring this full circle, yeah, I have no problems at all playing music with MEGADETH. As a matter of fact, I thought it was a really cool challenge. When I first met Dave Mustaine, I said, "I might not be the right guy for this band 'cause really at heart I'm a blues basher." And he said, "MEGADETH is a blues band, its. It's just a lot faster!" So it was a little tough for me to get behind it stylistically although I rap it out and I could play all the parts. But after a couple weeks of sittin' there and watchin' Dave and seeing how his hands moved and listening to the records and stuff like that, it makes a lot of sense; a lot more sense than I ever thought it would.

Ultimate-Guitar.com: You did go back and listen to some of the earlier MEGADETH records with Dave Ellefson and stuff?

Lomenzo: Well, I didn't listen to it album by album which took me years to get to that point. It's embarrassing because fans know so much more about the band than I do. You have to understand that I had three-and-a-half weeks counting rehearsals to do a show with the band. They were doing 20+ songs and if I tell you I knew two of the songs! Thank God I used to hang out at that club L'Amour in Brooklyn (notorious East Coast rock club) otherwise I wouldn't have known any of them; they used to play them on the sound system. I'd go, "Oh, that's MEGADETH; I love that song." What I did was I made up a learning tape of just those songs and then later on as we started moving about and interviews and started coming, I started learning about the history of the band and which song this album is actually on.

Ultimate-Guitar.com: What were your feelings about "United Abominations"?

Lomenzo: It turned out, you know, it wasn't as organic as other bands I've been in; it was definitely a very delineated way of doing things. Dave's mind seems to work that way which is kind of cool. I think if you listen to his guitar style, it almost shows itself and everything is kind of compartmentalized. So, that was good, and it brought me more away from the blues and more into pattern-oriented music which is actually a great brain exercise. It keeps you from atrophying because you have to remember what you played three or four parts ago and then throw it away and play something completely different.

Ultimate-Guitar.com: Did you learn anything from that process that you brought to the recording of "Endgame"?

Lomenzo: "Endgame" was a completely different animal. At that point, we had played some of the riffs live; some of them, not too many. So I kinda knew where we were going. Dave made this staunch announcement before we proceeded with it and told me, "I just want you to do the British metal thing." And I said, "Well, that's basically holdin' it down." He goes, "Yeah, that's what I want."

Ultimate-Guitar.com: That does seem like a bit of a departure for Dave.

Lomenzo: And I didn't mind it; I thought those were cool marching orders 'cause we had just come off with JUDAS PRIEST and I'm such a fan of Ian's [Hill, bassist] because he really lets loose that great big attention. And I said, "The only caveat I would make on that is I've got to have that great suffering bass amp sound" because that kind of sells the attitude. And he goes, "You'll have that; you'll have that." So, yeah, we went in and did it that way. Dave started going through this organizational process for weeks. Just finding old riffs that were on tapes and I was helping him in the studio pulling out old tapes of old rehearsals and finding these little gemmy things that he hadn't touched or thought about for years. And so we started bringing that in and running to the practice room and throw one riff over the next. Again, less organic but certainly a good methodology especially for MEGADETH's kind of music.
Ultimate-Guitar.com: You've kind of talked all around it but how much freedom does Dave allow you in terms of coming in with bass parts and different sections?

Lomenzo: On this one, he kept saying, "Go ahead, man, go for it. Try it; go for it." And we just kept coming back to what was there and not because for lack of ideas. I think it just had to do with the space for measure-by-measure. I mean there's so much guitar riffing on this record, that there isn't too much pulling away that I can do. The drums seem to sit in a certain spot, too, and so most players will tell you, "You're the bridge between the rhythm and the chordal fusion of the thing" and you're trying to find that bridge between the two. There's not a lot of space here even for some of the more half-tempo songs. And so half the time I'd be there with Andy [Sneap, producer] and Dave would be around and we'd try and stretch things out and Andy would go, "What do you think?" And I'd have to agree with him. "It just sounds good, lay it in." It's one of those records.

Ultimate-Guitar.com: At the end of the day, how demanding was Dave as a bandleader? If you were 15 minutes late to a band rehearsal, would you be fined $10?

Lomenzo: No, no $10. Actually he's pretty easy; he's no different than any of the other guys I've played with in that he's a perfectionist. And it's interesting how many of these people arrive at where they are and drive their bands being this way. I could go down a list of them that I've actually played with. As far as it goes, Dave is a real sensible guy, he's a real smart guy, and he knows exactly what he wants. And I usually respond really well to that because it's much easier to know what somebody wants than to sit around and fidget all the time. But the cool thing is he's so passionate about what he does that it's a great deal for the audience. The truth of the matter is, if you've got a guy sitting out there during soundcheck and listening to the balance of the instruments on stage, it's not because he wants it to sound a certain way; he wants it to sound a certain way for the first five rows.

HELIX Completes Recording New Album - Sep. 27, 2009
Canadian hard rockers HELIX have completed recording their new album, "Vagabond Bones", tentatively due before the end of the year. Singer Brian Vollmer has been collaborating with Sean Kelly (CRASH KELLY) on material for the CD, which is being mixed by engineer Aaron Murray.

Commented Vollmer: "We had recorded the last three tracks in Toronto at Pocket Studios the week before we left, and so there was just the mix to take care of and then off to the pressing plant.

"We usually get out of the studio and let [engineer] Aaron 'do his thing' when it comes to the mixing. It usually takes a day to mix one song and then Aaron sends the mix to Sean and I by e-mail."

"Vagabond Bones" tentative track listing (not final sequence):

01. The Animal Inside (Won't Be Denied)
02. Go Hard or Go Home
03. Vagabond Bones
04. Monday Morning Meltdown
05. When The Bitter's Got The Better Of You
06. Hung Over But Still Hanging In
07. Best Mistake I Never Made
08. Make 'Em Dance
09. Jack It Up

Vollmer's track-by-track description of "Vagabond Bones" can be found on the band's official web site.

The classic '80s lineup of Canadian hard rockers HELIXBrent "The Doctor" Doerner on lead guitar, Greg "Fritz" Hinz on drums, Daryl Gray on bass, and Brian Vollmer on vocals — recently reunited and is planning to hit the road throughout western Canada in October.

Regarding his collaboration with Kelly, Vollmer previously said, "We hit it off as writers right from the start, and the tunes we've produced so far have been getting great feedback. I've been playing them not only for industry people but to fans as well. One thing for sure — whether you love or hate this CD, you'll find it very different from anything we've done in the past. In particular, 'Monday Morning Meltdown' is a real stretch for us. It's BEATLES/CHEAP TRICK-influenced, which led Rudy Blair of 680 News to comment to me that '…if he hadn't known who it was us, he would have thought it was a young band.'"

"Writing with Sean Kelly has really brought out some of my other musical influences, like DAVID BOWIE, T. REX, and ALICE COOPER. You can hear traces of them in different songs we've put together."

HELIX has been active in the past several years with several releases. The band's most recent collection of original material, "The Power of Rock and Roll", came out in 2007. Their latest CD, "A Heavy Mental Christmas", was made available in all Canadian Wal-Mart stores last November and received airplay worldwide. The CD also received great reviews from the critics.

HELIX was interviewed by "Wyldside Radio" on July 10, 2009 prior to the band's performance at the Rocklahoma festival in Pryor, Oklahoma. Watch the question-and-answer session below.

MIKE TRAMP's 'Rock 'N' Roll Circuz': Audio Samples Of Entire Album Available - Sep. 27, 2009
WHITE LION singer Mike Tramp will release a new solo album, "Mike Tramp & The Rock 'N' Roll Circuz", on October 5. The CD "promises to be the most profound musical statement" released to date by Tramp, according to a press release. "With this album no stone has been left unturned, no compromises made, this album is complete in every way," he says.

"Mike Tramp & The Rock 'N' Roll Circuz" will first be only released in Denmark via Kick Music/Sony Music, but will also made available via MikeTramp.com.

Co-produced in Copenhagen, Denmark with guitar player Søren Andersen, "Rock 'N' Roll Circuz" — which Tramp calls "my best ever, my masterpiece" — refers to the atmosphere created by Tramp around the band in the studio when recording the album. "It made us visualize this old fallen apart circus," he says. "From there we built certain things into the songs and into the album."

He adds, "[This LP] is even deeper and more personal than ever before. People should get ready for 'All Of My Life', a song that lyrically speaks for itself, with many describing it as 'classic Tramp."

Having now returned home to Copenhagen, the road that Tramp has traveled in his 32 years of rock and roll is uniquely his own. First rising to stardom over 30 years ago with MABEL, Tramp earlier this year re-emerged as a public figure in Denmark via his appearance on the TV show "All Stars". "It was a great chance to show and tell an entire country my life story of 32 years in rock and roll," he says.

In October 2009, Tramp will embark on his first-ever big tour of Denmark and early next year will venture out into the rest of the world.

As someone who has gambled his life and given his heart and soul to rock and roll, Tramp is philosophical when pondering what the music has given him in return. "To me, it is my lifestyle, a pair of glasses that I view life through, a pair of boots that take me to where I want to go and a religion that allows you freedom to follow your heart and do what you want," he says.

Tickets For AEROSMITH's Honolulu Concert Going Fast - Sep. 27, 2009
KGMB9 News reports: Tickets for the October 18 AEROSMITH concert at Neil S. Blaisdell Arena in Honolulu, Hawaii went on sale Saturday at 9:00 a.m. An hour later, almost all of the tickets under $100 were sold. So, if you want to go to the concert with a friend, date, or spouse, the only way you'll be able to sit together is to buy two tickets at $197 each. With service charges on Ticketmaster, that would come out to a total of $420.80.

"They still got seats downstairs, but it's a limit of 8 and if you can't afford to spend $200, you know you ain't gonna be able to sit downstairs," one ticket buyer said.

AEROSMITH will give two concerts in Hawaii — one at the Blaisdell Arena and the other at Maui War Memorial Stadium on Tuesday, October 20. That's a makeup concert for the show they cancelled there two years ago. Singer Steven Tyler told promoter Tom Moffatt that the group has wanted to come to Hawaii since 1976.

ALICE IN CHAINS Drummer Says Music Saved His Life... Twice - Sep. 27, 2009
ALICE IN CHAINS drummer Sean Kinney has admitted that he continued dabbling in substance abuse even after the death of the band's lead singer, Layne Staley, who had struggled for a decade with drug addiction before he finally passed away in 2002.

According to Kinney, the band was firing on all cylinders during the making of 1992's "Dirt", which spawned five singles — "Would?", "Them Bones", "Angry Chair", "Rooster", and "Down in a Hole" — and has since been certified four times platinum by the RIAA (Recording Industry Association of America), making it the group's highest-selling album to date. "Whatever we were doing and all the things we were doing [referring to the band's substance abuse — Ed.] were working at that point," he told Holland's FaceCulture in a recent interview. "And then they quit working. Well, they didn't quit working," he quickly corrected himself, "but they'd start working against you. Some things opened some doors, some things closed some doors."

He continued, "[During the making of 'Dirt'] we were all on the same page about where we were at in life. And then it kinda started spinning out of control a little bit. It was pretty much during that record [that the bandmembers started doing heavy drugs] — it was full-on and then it kind of stayed that way."

Kinney, who grew up in Renton, Washington, claims that he quit using drugs "a few years ago," explaining that "to do this [the ALICE IN CHAINS reunion], for me, I couldn't be toxic. It wouldn't make sense. Half the reason I'm doing it is to take [Layne's] legacy and what we created together forward and move forward with this band with [new ALICE IN CHAINS singer] William [DuVall] and to move on in life. We've all grown, so that's important to me.

"So I had to make a choice. . . I didn't want to be out here and be disingenuine [sic] and be false — be out here bringing our legacy and Layne's legacy forward and be fucked up. That doesn't do anybody any good — it doesn't do me any good and I wouldn't be happy with myself doing that. So I made a choice. What's more important? Music's more important."

He added, "The same thing that saved us... When we started the band, I was a homeless guy. I had nowhere to live. So music kind of became my life [and] saved my life at that point. And I guess in some way it did again."

Video footage of Sean Kinney talking to FaceCulture about his drug use can be viewed below.

The first all-new ALICE IN CHAINS album in 14 years, "Black Gives Way To Blue", arrives in stores on September 29. The disc features the recording debut with the group of singer and guitarist William DuVall.

JUDAS PRIEST's DOWNING Interviewed On 'Uncensored Net Noise'; Audio Available - Sep. 27, 2009
JUDAS PRIEST guitarist K.K. Downing was interviewed on the August 14, 2009 edition of the "Uncensored Net Noise" Internet radio show. The chat is now available for streaming using the audio player below.

JUDAS PRIEST's "A Touch of Evil: Live" live album sold around 5,300 copies in the United States in its first week of release to debut at position No. 87 on The Billboard 200 chart.

PRIEST chose 10 songs not previously released in live album form for "A Touch of Evil: Live", which was released on July 14, in the midst of the band's U.S. summer tour.

"A Touch of Evil" includes live renderings of longtime fan favorites such as "Painkiller", "Dissident Aggressor", "Riding on the Wind", "Between the Hammer & the Anvil" and "Eat Me Alive", as well as "Hellrider" from "Angel of Retribution", the group's 2004 reunion album with frontman Rob Halford, and two tracks — "Death" and "Prophecy" — from last year's rock opera "Nostradamus".

Recorded by Martin Walker and Brian Thorene during JUDAS PRIEST's mammoth 2005 and 2008 world tours, "A Touch Of Evil: Live" marks the first PRIEST album that producer Tom Allom has worked on since 1988 (co-producing along with the band). It was such Allom-produced albums as the aforementioned "Unleashed In The East", as well as "British Steel" and "Screaming For Vengeance" (among others) that made PRIEST not only one of the premier metal acts, but one of the leading global rock acts.

Voiceprint has also issued the J21 album "Yellow Mind -Blue Mind", featuring Graham on two tracks, "The Truth Behind The Veil" and "The Edge of Now".

For the Bonnet collectors, RAINBOW's "Anthology 1975-1983" CD has been released in the U.K., featuring the live version of "Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow" from the legendary Monsters of Rock festival 1980. In the past, recordings of "All Night Long" and "Stargazer" from this same concert were released on vinyl LP, and "Since You've Been Gone" was also featured in the "Final Vinyl" LP/CD.

For the collectors in Australia, a DVD titled "Nightmoves" has been released, featuring an extremely rare footage of Graham's early song "Danny" from his first solo album and interview. The DVD is in PAL format and available exclusively in Australia.

Fan-filmed video footage of Graham Bonnet performing the RAINBOW classic "Stargazer" on July 2, 2009 at SESC in Santos, Brazil can be viewed below (courtesy of "kajibrino").

FINNTROLL Frontman Interviewed In Nottingham; Video Available - Sep. 27, 2009
Vocalist Mathias Lillmåns (a.k.a. Vreth) of Finnish folk metallers FINNTROLL was interviewed by Metal Storm at the first show of the band's U.K. tour, which kicked off this past Friday (September 25) in Nottingham. Watch the chat below.

A review of the concert (including pictures) can be found at this location.

Music-Photocalypse.net attended a listening session for the upcoming FINNTROLL album on September 1, 2009 at Sonic Pump Studios in Helsinki, Finland. Several songs from the band's long-awaited new CD (which has a working title of "Mot Skoggornas Värld") were played back to the media, including "Solsagan", "Den Frusna Muhnen", "Dråp" and "Under Bergets Rot".

Check out a studio report, along with pictures of the event, at this location.

FINNTROLL recently inked a three-album, worldwide deal with Century Media Records. The band entered Sonic Pump studios in Helsinki in late July to begin recording the new CD for an early 2010 release.

Keyboardist Henri "Trollhorn" Sorvali previously stated about the follow-up to 2007's "Ur Jordens Djup". "I personally think this will be our best album ever. Overall I can sense there's a lot 'punk' on it, lots of weirdness, a load of *riffs* instead of chord progressions, quite a bit of folkish parts and a lurking, evil atmosphere. In the terms of 'heaviness,' it's probably the heaviest album we've done, at least judging from the song material. I could pretty much safely say this sounds like a meaner and more wicked version of 'Ur Jordens Djup' with an occasional hint of the first album."

FINNTROLL's fifth album, "Ur Jordens Djup", entered the German Media Control chart at position No. 91. The CD, which was recorded by Nino Laurenne at Sonic Pump studios in Helsinki, is the group's first release with Mathias Lillmåns following the departure of Tapio Wilska (SETHIAN, ex-WIZZARD, former session vocalist for NIGHTWISH) in January 2006.

BONAFIDE: New Album Lands On Swedish Chart - Sep. 27, 2009
"Something's Dripping", the second full-length album from Sweden's self-proclaimed masters of "genuine, dirty, in-your-face cock rock" BONAFIDE, has entered the official chart in the band's home country at position No. 16.

"Something's Dripping" was released in Sweden on September 18. The CD, which will be released in the rest of the world in October, was recorded at Musicamatic studios (SOUNDTRACK OF OUR LIVES, D-A-D) in Gothenburg, Sweden with acclaimed producer Chips Kiesbye (THE HELLACOPTERS, THE NOMADS, MILLENCOLLIN).

According to a press release, "BONAFIDE delivers blues and R&B-based full-throttle rock 'n' roll, no holds barred. Chips Kiesbye has added his brilliant production skills to the formula, and you seldom hear guitars this beefy or vocals with this much pure attitude and bravado. Main songwriter and frontman extraordinarie, Pontus Snibb, shares writing credits with fellow guitarist Mikael Fässberg on two of the album's 11 tracks. This, plus the fact that the whole group nowadays contributes to the creative process, has added a new dimension and a slightly different angle to BONAFIDE's simplistic, yet innovative and fresh take on classic hard rock. Mia Coldheart of Swedish metal queens CRUCIFIED BARBARA also appear on the album, in the duet 'Straight Shooters'."

"Something's Dripping" track listing:

01. Dirt Bound
02. Hard Livin' Man
03. No Doubt About It
04. Straight Shooters
05. Elvis Chapel Blues
06. Fill Your Head With Rock
07. Dog
08. Shot Of You
09. Butter You Up
10. Swan Song
11. Sicker Than I Think

"Dirt Bound", the new single from BONAFIDE, is available for streaming at this location.

BELIEVER Plays First Show In 16 Years; Video Available - Sep. 27, 2009
Reactivated late '80s/early '90s technical-thrash metallers BELIEVER performed live for the first time in 16 years this past Friday (September 25) at Sterling Hotel in Allentown, Pennsylvania.

"The first gig went pretty well with only a few tech glitches," guitarist/vocalist Kurt Bachman told BLABBERMOUTH.NET. "It was great playing live again!"

Fan-filmed video footage of the concert can be viewed below.

Upcoming BELIEVER shows:

Oct. 03 - Mojo 13 - Wilmington, Delaware
Oct. 30 - The Note - West Chester, Pennsylvania (6:00 p.m.; all ages) *
Oct. 30 - The Note - West Chester, Pennsylvania (10:00 p.m.; 21+) *

* With CKY

BELIEVER's fourth album, "Gabriel", was released in March through KILLSWITCH ENGAGE frontman Howard Jones's new imprint label Cesspool Records via Metal Blade. The CD features guest appearances by Jones, Joe Rico (SACRIFICE), CKY/WORLD UNDER BLOOD guitarist/vocalist Deron Miller and Rocky Gray (EVANESCENCE, SOUL EMBRACED, LIVING SACRIFICE).

Regarding the musical direction of the album, Bachman told Decibel magazine, "We think that fans will hear some of each record but the writing is a bit different. It's still BELIEVER but we wanted to offer something new as we have in the past. Some people would like us to put out another 'Sanity Obscure' or 'Dimensions' but we didn't want to rehash the past. Those close to us have said that the new material sounds like a natural progression from 'Dimensions'. We wanted to have fun with this and get back to our emotional metal roots. Getting together to write and record was exciting. It's when the creativity and insanity was let loose."
