AC/DC To Start Tour On Halloween
- July 29, 2008
|
|
|
According to The Pulse of Radio, AC/DC will kick off its first world tour in seven years on Halloween (October 31) in Chicago, a source close to the band has told HardDrive Radio. The tour, which is expected to last 18 months, will come in support of the group's new album, "Black Ice", which is due out on October 28. A single titled "Rock & Roll Train" will arrive at radio stations around August 28.
AC/DC will travel to London, England in early August to shoot a video for "Rock & Roll Train".
"Black Ice", which will be sold exclusively at Wal-Mart, is AC/DC's first new studio effort since 2000's "Stiff Upper Lip". It was recorded at a Canadian studio with PEARL JAM and BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN producer Brendan O'Brien.
The 1977 AC/DC song "Let There Be Rock" will be featured in the new Rock Band 2 video game, due out in September. This will mark the band's first and so far only contribution to a video game soundtrack.

they have always been highly over-rated, all their songs sound the same, and now they're selling their album exclusively at wal-mart!?!?

Guess I won't be picking this one up right away. I refuse to buy music at WAL-MART due to their policy on censorship. Besides, It wont be long untill this one shows up in the used bin at my local independent music store.

hey, even though you can only get this record at wal=mart and even though you know it will only have one good song on it and the rest will all sound the exact same...who cares! they are great live and i can just imagine this huge train crashing into the set during their concerts...ROCK AND ROLL TRAIN....cannot wait!!!!!
and btw dream theater never was huge cause their songs are overly complicated and dont have CHORUSES you can sing along with..thats what sells records...that and they play horrible places no one wants to go like TERMINAL five IN NYC.

How can any "metal fan" bitch about AC/DC. They made Back In Black. Anything else is gravy.

What I find funny is that the band themselves haven't confirmed that much at all. They confirmed a video shoot for the new song and that the album is done but that's it. No real track listings or a real album name yet.
Can't wait to see them live though, they're the first band I ever really got into that led to the chain reaction of what I listen to today so it'd be fun to see 'em.

AC/DC was great. only problem is the CDs I want to hear are all over 25 years old!
Back in Black = 1981....a mere 27 years ago.
Wal-Mart equals MONEY. Did you think your rock heroes have high artistic standards?

Just wanted top post that AC/Dc has had a song in a video game before.
I've played THPS4 on the old PS1 and remember T.N.T. being on there.
Really looking forward to the new single and album and hopefully it rocks hard and sounds more like what they did in the Let There Be Rock/Powerage era.

C'mon guys, give em more credit than that. They know everybody just downloads these days... especially overseas. They're just being smart and taking on least amount of financial risk for the album. TOURS & GIGs is where the real money is made these days. There's HUGE demand, FAT ticket premiums, and lucrative guarantees. New bands aren't filling the arenas anymore.. so promoters are throwing everything at these nostalgia acts to get them to come. Its generational wealth type money. Too much to walk away from. Saying all that.. I can't wait to see em' again.. AC/DC BABY! YEAH!
