RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE To Play Minneapolis During Republican National Convention

According to the Minneapolis Star Tribune, RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE will give a rare performance at Target Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota on September 3 — the same week as the Republican National Convention in St. Paul. Tickets go on sale Saturday at 10 a.m. for $60. RAGE guitarist Tom Morello has also committed to perform with country-rocker Steve Earle at a union rally September 1 at St. Paul's Harriet Island, the first day of the convention. RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE performed outside the Democratic National Convention in Los Angeles in August of 2000, one of the group's final performances before going on a seven-year hiatus. The band reunited last year for a series of concerts and festival appearances that continues in 2008. Rumors persist that a new RAGE album is in the works, but the group has not announced any official plans to record new music.

R.A.T.M. are doing exactly what a metal band should be doing but if they really want to make a statement then it would be a good idea to give away the gate. At $60 dollars they're only gonna be preaching to the converted. A free show will draw more than just fans to their cause...the people they should be preaching to.

I'm at a loss over all this bashing on this METAL board of the left wing. With the exception of "The Nuge", metal, hardcore, and punk are left wing art forms.
Sit down and have a conversation with metal artists and you'll find a vast majority will lean toward the left (particularily when it comes to Bush). Sit down with country artists and you'll find they lean toward the right.

Having an upside down flag doesn't mean anything bad, it's meant to be flown upside down as a distress signal. We are basically in a depression, fighting a global war on terror(how can you engage war with a tatic?), and getting our own personal freedoms taken away from us.
