TESLA To Release 'Forever More' In October - Aug. 11, 2008
Multi-platinum rockers TESLA are looking well into the future with their seventh studio album, "Forever More", set for release October 7 on Tesla Electric Company Recordings (in partnership with Ryko Distribution).

"I Wanna Live", the new album's first single, is being serviced to radio stations nationwide on August 18. The band's world tour will kick off October 1 in Salt Lake City with more dates announced in the coming weeks.

For "Forever More", TESLA reunited with producer Terry Thomas, who was behind the boards for the band's 1994 gold-certified "Bust A Nut" album, and engineered by Michael Rosen who worked with TESLA on "Into The Now".

Guitarist Frank Hannon explains, "We started writing new songs for this album the first week of January, while simultaneously planning a mid-West tour of America in February and recording our "Comin' Atcha Live! 2008" DVD while we were on the road. Coming home in March, we hired Terry to jump back into writing and recording music with us while we edited the DVD and routed a summer tour of Europe. We're riding a wave of energy that doesn't come easy for a band of rookies much less a band whose been doing this for over 20 years — and we wouldn't have it any other way".

"After returning from Europe," continues Frank, "we jumped right back into the studio to work on 'Forever More' with Terry while setting up a tour of American festival shows in July and August, playing alongside bands such as MATCHBOX TWENTY, THE WALLFLOWERS, QUEENSRŸCHE, KISS and JUDAS PRIEST. It's great that we can play with any band, of any music genre, because we've never been pigeon-holed into a style or label of music throughout our career".

In describing the vibe of the new album, he continues, "'Forever More' demonstrates this idea of writing songs in a diverse fashion. The title track is one of our deeper cuts complete with heavy lyrics, de-tuned riffs and acoustic interludes, while 'I Wanna Live' is one of our more uplifting songs that bounces musically and delivers a lyrical message that suggests living life to the fullest."

The rest of the album takes a similar ride of dynamic ups and downs with songs like "So What!", "Fallin' Apart", "Breakin' Free", "The Game", "All Of Me" and "The First Time".

All the tracks on "Forever More" offer a variety of emotions where each song has its own twist — not sounding like another. "Forever More" was written and recorded during a period of high energy and bizarre life circumstances for each of TESLA's band members, with those experiences coming full circle throughout the CD.

TESLA's DVD, "Comin' Atcha Live! 2008" was released July 15. It's the band's first DVD in 17 years (since 1991's "Five Man Video Band") and is filled with over two hours of live music, special behind-the-scenes footage, their fans, backstage, on stage and loose on the streets of Seattle.

In addition, TESLA's first double-disc collection of 32 of their best tracks and collectibles, "Gold", will be available on August 26 on Geffen/Universal Music Enterprises, ranging from 1986 through 2007 and including their chart hits "Signs", "Love Song", and "The Way It Is".

can a band like Tesla be relevant in this age? Not picking on them, but is there any radio that would play it, no matter how good? Maybe in parts of the country, but Boston doesn't have such a station. All new rock, or classic rock. If they had good songs, they'd need a market genius to get it across. Only a hand full of bands from the last 20 years have gotten through, Chili Peps, Metallica, only a hand full of others that radio will play cuz they are who they are. sAd.

Satelite Radio plays Tesla,
I hear them regularily on the XM Boneyard
They prolly are on Sirus too
They sorta fit in with all that 80s hair metal even though they
were a more traditional type Hard Rock band

Excellent production team. Bust A Nut was their best album, and Into the Now was well done also. This should be a great cd -- hopefully with a few more rockers than Into the Now had. The one good thing about possibly not being what radio wants to play anymore is that they can focus on making great rock songs instead of recording half a dozen power ballads trying to hit the lottery again.

Music Choice on digital cable has an arena rock station that plays all that.

Bands like Tesla have a devoted following that will allow them to tour as long as they want. Put them in the same category as King's X and Extreme who are currently touring together.

yeah, if they got a solid fan base, they can tour, make $$, & those fans at least will listen to new stuff. I have sirruis, they play the old stuff, but if they put out a new album, not sure if it would get played? They were better than the bands they got lumped into with, though I wasn't a fan of "love song", that was too hairmetalish, but they rocked.

Satellite radio is the way to go these days anyway. Both Sirius and XM do play Tesla as well as the fore mentioned digital satellite stations. Tesla is still very relevant with a great fan base to boot.

....so, from everyone's comments here, rock has moved forward and gone to satellite, while rap and other garbage stay glued to the suburbia kids on tradtional radio?

Hmm...makes one think!

Tesla will always be a class act!

I just don't know if XM or Sirius will play new stuff from Tesla. Whitesnake and Def Leppard, among others, have come out with new albums, but none of the songs are on Sirius anywhere. They play their old stuff on "Hairnation", but anything new is not played anywhere. "Octane" is the modern hard rock channel, but they only play Disturbed, Seether, and those type bands. I could see them playing new Metallica or Guns and Roses, but not Tesla or Whitesnake. It really is a shame bands like this have no place to be played.

What does that mean??? I don't get the whole "can Tesla still be relevant?" Who gives a fuck... Do you want them to be relevant? Cuz if that is the case then they will be on TRL and American Idol...and don't tell me you rely on your local rock station to prove a band's relevance. As long as people buy Nickelsack and 3 Doors Down, then that is what they are gonna play. One test of a band's relevance (say in Tesla's case) is that decent sized crowds still come to see them 20 years later.

Just started reading about the life of scientist Nikola Tesla. He made possible the system of distributing alternating current that makes reading this comment possible.

And he got messages from Martians.

Sirius has a channel called Buzzsaw. Bands like Kiss, Tesla, Rush, Alice Cooper, & Iron Maiden are in heavy rotation. Terrestrial radio blows.
