TESTAMENT To Support CHILDREN OF BODOM In New York City - Aug. 11, 2008
Veteran San Francisco Bay Area metallers TESTAMENT will be direct support for CHILDREN OF BODOM on October 9 at the Hammerstein Ballroom in New York City. Also appearing on the bill are BETWEEN THE BURIED AND ME and THE BLACK DAHLIA MURDER.

CHILDREN OF BODOM's fall 2008 U.S. headlining tour will kick off on September 11 in Baltimore, Maryland and criss-cross the country, closing with a bang on October 10 in Worcester, Massachusetts.

TESTAMENT — currently on the road alongside JUDAS PRIEST, HEAVEN AND HELL and MOTÖRHEAD as part of this summer's "Metal Masters" tour — is touring in support of its latest studio album, "The Formation of Damnation".

A widget/Flash player for the forthcoming CHILDREN OF BODOM U.S. headlining tour can be found below.

Shouldn't it be the other way around? CoB should be so lucky as to open for Testament, not the other way around.

"criss-cross the country"????? The tour is less than a month long.

What happened to the good old days of a tour lasting 6-8 months at a time?

This is like having Sabbath opening for Cathedral.

What's next? Zeppeling opening for Kingdom Come?

Excellent bill, but yeah, the TESTAMENT and CHILDREN OF BODOM slots should be reversed.

Well gas prices for one... it now cost about 2-3 times more to travel across the country for a tour and of course if they ship their equipment and all that even more just to get here to play. Also I have never known any band to do a 6-8 month straight tour of any country.

THATS ABOUT AS FUNNY AS SLAYER OPENING FOR SLIPKNOT BACK IN 04'! JUST NOT LOGICAL.

Great point with the gas prices, etc.

Not sure how old you are but I know of many bands in the mid 80s that would load their shit up and tour the US non-stop for many months at a time on the same album with only a week break every few months. I know in Metallica's early days, they went balls out touring without taking a break. WASP did the same thing.

bodom sell more and have a younger audience.

its very smart for testament to do it. they will gain new fans and show what real metal is all about

...but I'm with most people here, no way should Testament open for COB.

But as _HATE_ said, this is a good way for the kids to see real metal and a guitar god, Skolnick, blow away Alexi!

i think we can all agree that testament should be on after cob, but that aint the way it is. still this is a killer lineup. in my world it would be in order of headliner at 1:

1 testament
2 btbam
3 bdm
4 cob

np - meshuggah - humiliative

we all know that Testament is bigger than Bodom.
The point is, it's pretty awesome of them to perform for this one show. Too bad it isn't in Minneapolis, or I'd totally go.

****ATTENTION****

OK I LOVE TESTAMENT it's finally good to see an old school band finally yes FINALLY able to compete and whoop ass on some of the new heavier school bands. But sadly and remember this it all comes down to WHO sells more cd's...that is why COB is headlining. So next time your fav band is opening for a newer band it's because your fav sells less that is why they open.
