ICED EARTH: More North American Dates Announced - Oct. 6, 2008
American metal powerhouse ICED EARTH has announced the continuation of its current "North American Crucible" with 11 more shows in the U.S. and Canada in November. "People kept on reaching out to us and questioned why we weren't coming to their cities — well, here's your answer! I cannot wait to see more Minions out at these shows!" says ICED EARTH mainman/songwriter Jon Schaffer.

Support on the shows will come from DIVINE HERESY (main support) and EARLY MAN (opening act).

Public on-sale for these dates is October 9, 2008.

After the overwhelming success of the "Child Of The Wicked" VIP packages, ICED EARTH has decided to give its fans the chance to get close to the band again and is offering VIP packages for all shows starting tomorrow, October 7, 2008 at this location. ICED EARTH is also planning something very special for members of the band's official fan club, "Minions Of The Wicked".

ICED EARTH with DIVINE HERESY and EARLY MAN:

Nov. 07 - Marquee Theater - Tempe, Arizona
Nov. 08 - Sunshine Theater - Albuquerque, New Mexico
Nov. 09 - Bluebird Theater - Denver, Colorado
Nov. 11 - Ridglea Theater - Fort Worth, Texas
Nov. 12 - Beaumont Music Hall - Kansas City, Missouri
Nov. 13 - Station 4 - St. Paul, Minnesota
Nov. 14 - Metro - Chicago, Illinois
Nov. 16 - Odeon – Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada
Nov. 17 - MacEwan Ballroom - Calgary, Alberta, Canada
Nov. 19 - Commodore Ballroom - Vancouver, British Columbia
Nov. 20 - Studio Seven - Seattle, Washington

TheRightToRock.com recently issued episode #63 of its podcast, featuring ICED EARTH mainman Jon Schaffer.

The interview lasts approximately 40 minutes and is available for download at this location.

ICED EARTH's new full-length studio album, "The Crucible of Man (Something Wicked Part II)", has registered the following first-week chart positions around the world:

Hungary: #13
Germany: #28
Austria: #34
Finland: #35
Switzerland: #39
Sweden: #46
Norway: #71
Holland: #71
Belgium: #72
USA: #79
USA (Indie): #8
USA (Hard Music): #17
France: #86
UK: #168
UK (Metal): #19

"The Crucible of Man (Something Wicked Part II)" sold 6,700 copies in the United States in its first week of release.

"The Crucible of Man (Something Wicked Part II)" continues where ICED EARTH's 2007 release, "Framing Armageddon (Something Wicked Part I)" left off. "The Crucible of Man" features the return of frontman Matt Barlow who was mainman/guitarist Jon Schaffer's original voice of choice to introduce the "Something Wicked" saga back in 1998 as a trio of songs which concluded their album, "Something Wicked This Way Comes".

Professionally filmed video footage of ICED EARTH's June 28, 2008 performance at the Graspop Metal Meeting in Dessel, Belgium can be viewed below.

I can't wait for this. I saw Ripper with Yngwie last night (which was awesome), so it will be great to see Iced Earth with Barlow back in the saddle.

it was my first time seeing them. i thought musically they were superb. i really enjoyed seeing barlow at the front.

their set did piss me off. they decided to play fucking gettysburg, which was a huge waste, they couldve played at least 3 songs from 'night of the stormrider' (my favorite album by them) in that period of time.

saw them in orlando barlow forgot lyrics and couldnt hit half of the notes even from some of his songs they played from 830-10 hour and a half (last time i saw them they played well over 2 hours) and ive never been to a show that ended so early...set list was decent not great i was very pleased to hear Stormrider but that was it off of NOTSR...he forgot a lot of words on 10,000 strong, gettysburg (they played 2 and 3) and declaration day which is kind of understandable seeing as he didnt record them but it was still a letdown to me and my dad who is a big Iced Earth fan as well, and we were both looking forward to seeing them since '04 so 4 years waiting for an hour and a half of a subpar setlist and half ass vocals...oh well maybe next time they will be better

Iced Earth with Ripper= A list metal band!

Iced Earth with Barlow= B list metal band. As in, they are flashing back into the pan.
Barlow was burned out and didn't want to do it anymore, so they hired Ripper, who set the band on fire. Now that they are hot, Matt wants back in, and they are returning to their natural level as a minor league band.

There is such balance in nature.

`Iced Earth with Ripper = B list metal band!
Iced Earth with Barlow = A list metal band.´

So, we´ve got different views. I´m really happy Matt´s back and that hired gun is gone to be kickbutted again this time by a fat, egotistical turd. I feel sorry for him.
