This is great, considering I can never find any of their albums in stores. They are really one of the best thrash bands around.

despite the singer having a lisp, the horrible lyrics, the dumbest ballad ever written (penis rising), some of the driest production this side of the sahara, and a total spit in the face of the old style of annihilator that hooked all us fans to begin with, I actually like this disc.

This is one of the best cds of that era. HUge record in Europe and Asia at a time when we were barraged with Pearl Jam, Nirvana and Smashing Pumpkins. This is a strong metal cd and at least Waters never rapped out and sold out

Theyre good but not in my top 10. Waters does write idiotic lyrics at times. His music and guitar playing ability make up for the crappy writing.

Alot of people misinterpret "fun" and normal life lyrics as idiotic. That describes the mentality of those people i guess. I think this song Pheonix Rising is about the death to cancer of one of his family. Very disrespectful people to say this. HE is the premium best metal guitar player and the only one's who doubt this are the followers of the masses or those who have not even heard more than a few youtube or internet mp3s. This band has made more metal in more than 120 songs of REAL metal while others pose and fade away.

Remember this is Blabbermouth whatcha expect?
Jeff Waters and his Annihilator have influenced at least half of the metal bands out there today including some giants like Megadeth, Metallica, COB, LOG, Trivium, way more than you could list.
They have some good cds and some that are not as good. Some classic and groundbreaking and some whatever. Sounds like every other band I just mentioned. But you can't deny the brilliant lead, rhythm and songwriting skills and more even the fact that he is one of the only players in metal to remain true to what he does and doesnt do it for the money like most.

I think a few of the former members of Megadeth were jsut on here a week ago talking about how they listened to Annihilators music when they went in to record Rust In Peace. Makes alot of sense because I heard some Waters influence in Friedmans lead style and alot of Waters riffs in Mustaines riffs and Mustaine even says that he likes Annihilator. They all tie in so love to all. Metal is good.

Dont forget Cory singer in Slipknot and others that love Annihilator from when they were starting. Trivium and In Flames have Jeffs influence all over. So why does he get the respect overseas and not here?

...that Phoenix Rising and Sounds Good to Me have been in heavy rotation on my iPod for quite a while. They were both VERY ODD songs for Annihilator, tho. I love their new CD!

Some idiot said the singer has a lisp, if you know any thing about the band you know that it was the mic he sang on , not his voice, he is seriously a good singer. and phoenix rising is great. this isnt an annihilator thrash metal album, its a rock n roll album with metal influences and its awesome, at least you liked it lol. if you're looking for alice in hell people..go listen to alice in hell. and aaron randall's voice got alot better, its a shame he wasnt used on an agressive annihilator album, if any one has the chance to check out SPEEED the album powertrip pigs, the vocals are great, the music is boring for the most part though.

Each of their cds is different from the last and they don't care if you love one and hate the next. They do it for themselves, not anyone else and that in turn means they end up doing it for REAL METAL FANS. NOT POSER EMO NEWMETAL WANKERS WHO PRETEND TO BE METAL AND COME AND GO EACH YEAR AND ARE THE NEXT BIG THING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
