A two-disc DVD set containing footage from last year's inaugural edition of MÖTLEY CRÜE's own festival-style package tour "Crüe Fest" is scheduled for release on March 24.
The web site of a Kansas City radio station recently listed MÖTLEY CRÜE, GODSMACK, THEORY OF A DEADMAN, SAVING ABEL and DROWNING POOL for the August 9 date of this summer's "Crüe Fest 2: The White Trash Circus" in the area. The listing has since been changed to simply read "Crüe Fest", and the official lineup has not been announced by the CRÜE or tour organizers. The bands will officially be announced on March 16 at a press conference in New York City, the same day that the CRÜE headlines Madison Square Garden on its current arena trek.
"Crüe Fest 2" will hit cities across North America beginning on July 19 in Camden, New Jersey through September 5 in Darien Lake, New York.

I can't believe that many people are paying so much to see 4 washed up sunset strip bums.

Can someone please explain to me, why is it that when for example VH, Metallica or AC/DC play certain venues the capacity for those arenas is much larger. In St Paul MN, the capacity for the arena is 18k but when Motley Crue play its only 13k, do they rope off the upper tier for the less popular bands?

not sure how it compares to other shows, but keep rock Motley Crue!

yea not bad numbers for a band that far in their career and have never been exectly "in" unless you count the few years around Dr. Feelgood, and Motley are far from sellouts, they have always done things their way and always against all odds. Metallica was always bashing them for being about image and stuff like that but in the end it was Metallica that were and are the real sellouts, and at least Motley have made decent albums to good in the last 20 years, but Metallica have just put out crap but Death Magnetic is ok but just playing it safe and it was advertised to death. but good for Crue to get all these people to see them, have seen them 2 times in the last 3-4 years and were great both times!!! and i heard they were one of the best bands of download when they were there last time, heard that both from people in the crowd and some of the bands

I'll bet my left nut that Heaven and Hell top those numbers. "Without" 3 support acts. This makes me happy....(-:

Given my familiarity with the capacity of some of the larger venues listed above, it appears to me that they are roping off parts and reducing it to theater like settings and still not selling out. The Wells Fargo arena in Des moines has a capacity of about 17-18000 and they have it listed as 10,602.

When I went to a Megadeth/Motley Crue concert, I walked out after the Megadeth set was over.

I believe the supporting bands' are the cause of the "low" figures... I don't like any of them...
Just gotta mention, I'm gonna pay around 80$ to see the Crüe on June 19th in France (the supporting acts are none other than Heaven & Hell, W.A.S.P., Anthrax, Deicide and Entombed...bitches!!!!! héhéhéhéhéhéhéhéhéééééé)
hey, Brother Maynard. there actually were 2 sold out shows in that list. read the whole article before you post, you're the reason everyone thinks blabberbitches are retards.

hey you up there...I think your the one who needs to read the whole article and LOOK at the figures....only one sellout listed..And that was in Vegas, but the one in Chicago was close behind...NICE TRY THOUGH
COMMENT | braunie posted by : steelprostate 3/8/2009 3:10:58 AM
it says the vegas show was feb. 6-7...maybe it was 2 shows and they both sold out? haha whatever. how can anyone call the crue sellouts? they never did anything to sell out...oh well...ive always liked this band and they were one of my favorite live acts ever, although ive only seen them once and i hear that its the same thing every time.
COMMENT | So many posted by : Stiltskin 3/8/2009 4:40:58 AM
supporting acts, to what use? I mean the supporting acts don´t play for free either. I bet Crue could manage those figures without them. So Crue is only lacking about a 800 thousand to a million in gross per show uptil Metallica and AC/DC then.
COMMENT | !! posted by : Doros78 3/8/2009 5:21:45 AM
Paradosis: that was just your loss then, have seen them both live and both are great, Megadeth are of course better musically but The Crue are much more fun. but i would love to see them together. And Crue is far less mainstream then AC/DC and less mainstream then Metallica is today. but AC/DC have always been AC/DC but Metallica did sellout big time, but their fame today is very strange because they havent done anything wortwhile in almost 20 years, but Death Magnetic is ok nothing more, and they arent even tjhat good live either. but who would have thought Motley Crue would still be around today?? hope they will stay together for some years to come, even if they have to replace Mick Mars, then just get DJ Ashba or Dave Navarro to play with them, that would be great, but until then let Mick rock as long as he can

Braunie920, one still proves my point. thanks for the assist, retard.

Motley Crue?????? Wow! I wouldn't pay $40 to see them...only great live bands like Judas Priest would i pay that for. People who still make great music like Priest's Nostradamus CD and have something interesting and new in store for the fans.
COMMENT | Economy posted by : Aunt Thrax 3/9/2009 10:16:49 AM
Very few bands, if any, will sell out in this economy. Their management probably felt it would be better to charge more and sell fewer seats than sell the tickets for less and sell more seats.
I bought 4 tickets for MSG for $40.00 a piece, so cheaper tickets are available.
COMMENT | "In The Round" vs Traditional Stage Setup posted by : ChuckCme 3/9/2009 1:02:20 PM
I believe that when playing "In The Round" as Metallica has been doing on this tour, you open up more seating then in the traditional stage set up where the stage area and a huge chunk of seating behind the stage is unsellable.
