In October 2008, DOWN released a "deluxe edition" of its critically acclaimed third album, "Over the Under". The deluxe package, which was made available as a Best Buy exclusive, includes a DVD with over 30 minutes of previously unreleased live performances and behind-the-scenes footage. The album was released on Down Records in conjunction with Warner Music Group's Independent Label Group (ILG).

Philip Anselmo revealed in an online post that DOWN has recorded at least six new songs for a possible new CD which may also include previously unreleased material from the "Over the Under" sessions.

Italian news blog Musica Metal has posted video footage of DOWN's July 22, 2008 performance in Bologna, Italy as the support band for METALLICA. Watch the clip below.

Down are awesome.

musicsucksnow - I saw C.O.C open for Metallica on that tour. I thought they were cool. Metallica were touring the Load album with the whole power-failure-burning-roadie thing. C.O.C were the better band that night. Lar's kit was so loud that it was distorting the speakers... wait a minute, that sounds familiar...

COC and Down are both awesome. I don't know how anyone could not at least like the first DOWN CD or Blind/Deliverance.

If you don't own at least one CD from each band, your collection is incomplete.

You got some unfortunate ears, son. Kirk and Pepper are great guitarists in their own right, and definitely so when it comes to riffs and ability to jam. They just aren't the obvious types at that.

was actually awesome. I thought it was bogus that it had to be this "Best Buy Exclusive" bullshit, but the band definitely put a lot of sincere work into that mini-DVD. I got it for my gf, and we watched it together, and we were both surprised to see the quality. I still haven't seen any of the photos included in the DVDs anywhere on the internet.

If you thought about getting that shit, go get it. You won't regret it (unless Down includest that shit on upcoming DVD...)
