SCORPIONS To Begin Work On New Album This Year - Apr. 2, 2009
According to a posting on the SCORPIONS fan site ScorpsNews.com, the German hard rock veterans will enter the studio in late 2009 to begin work on a new album for a 2010 release. It looks like they will be recording the new CD in their home country this time, but that could change.

The SCORPIONS will play 40 dates all around the world in 2009 starting tomorrow night (Friday, April 3) in France. The band's management is also said to be in talks with another major rock act about a possible joint tour of North America in 2010.

SCORPIONS' latest album, "Humanity - Hour 1", was produced by James Michael and co-produced by songwriter/producer Desmond Child, who has worked with such high-profile pop/rock artists as AEROSMITH, BON JOVI, ALICE COOPER, KISS, RICKY MARTIN, CHER, MICHAEL BOLTON and BONNIE TYLER.

The Best Buy edition of "Humanity - Hour 1" includes an exclusive track, "Cold". "Cold" was previously included on the Japanese pressing of the CD along with another bonus cut, a radio edit of "Love Will Keep Us Alive".

An 18-minute interview with SCORPIONS frontman Klaus Meine conducted by the band's webmaster Wolfgang Strauß on January 10, 2009 in Cologne, Germany can be viewed below.

Saw them live in Vancouver two years ago & they still got it. They blow the new bands away outta the water. Would love to see them do a North American tour with Whitesnake or maybe Cinderella.

Uli played quite a few shows with them the last few years. Invite him into the studio and see what happens... Get a producer from the 70's and try to get into that head set. They wrote way better songs before becoming a pop act. They are hard rocking now once again which is good, not so many pop ballads. They did ballads in the 70s as well but they were way cool songs like yellow Raven.

I thought Hour 1 was their best album since Love At First Sting so I'm looking forward to their next effort.

No Uli Jon Roth he´s stuck in the past, just quality guitar-driven hard rock the way they have been famous for in the 80´s and early 90´s with Matthias Jabs. I loved their last album, and that´s a very good start. If they use Dieter Dierks or not I don´t mind. What I need is pure Scorps the way we all have known. I it is so, I friggin´ can´t wait.

Soem one induct these guys! They are a true asset in the rock workd and proved it many of times!, Being the old timer I will admint I seen them in the 70's, 80's etc they roll with the trend and blow these winnie chewing bands away!

Bonus track "Cold" was a good song and although I enjoyed most of the Roth tunes it ended up being too many cooks in the kitchen. I think that era is best left behind at this point. Dieter w Mathias was fine.

COMMENT | Even let Micheal play on a tune or 2
