HELLYEAH To Enter Studio In May

Former PANTERA drummer Vinnie Paul Abbott has told DallasObserver.com that his supergroup of sorts, HELLYEAH — which also features MUDVAYNE's Chad Gray and Greg Tribbett, NOTHINGFACE's Tom Maxwell and Abbott's DAMAGEPLAN bandmate Bob "Zilla" Kakaha — is set to hit the studio on May 15 to begin working on its second album. Regarding which label will release the disc, Abbott said, "We don't know. We're free agents right now. We had a one-disc deal with Epic [which released the band's self-titled debut album], and they're practically begging us to come back. We sold nearly 500,000 records for them, which is practically unheard of these days. That's like going platinum 10 years ago." HELLYEAH's self-titled debut sold 45,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release to land at No. 9 on The Billboard 200 chart. It has shifted 354,000 units since it came out in April 2007, according to Nielsen SoundScan. "The guys from HELLYEAH and the incredible music we've created have brought me back to what I love," Vinnie previously stated. " 'Hellyeah' is the best record I've collaborated on since [ PANTERA's] 'Vulgar Display of Power'. The vibe is positive with a kick-your-ass attitude."

i say hell no to Hellyeah. dumb name. bland music. Vinnie Paul is capable of doing so much better than this but then again, just about everyone in the band USED to be capable of so much more at some point. Mudvayne went downhill after L.D. 50., Nothingface's Skeletons album wasn't that great, and Damageplan wasn't that good of a band, which, at least in my eyes, makes Pantera's Reinventing the Steel the last album Vinnie Paul has recorded that was worthwhile.

HELL NO.. WHY? PUTTING OFF Nothingface more? its been 2 yrs almost since they announced reuniting yet theyve done hardly any recording or announcements!? i guess it is about Money.. Hell Yeah sucks. I much rather hear another Mudvayne or Nothingface album then this garbage. they think juist because they got 'vinnie paul' that there the best.. but there total reinvented crap!.

Hellyeah is going to be the end of Mudvayne (who after their last album may not need much help) and is now even further delaying the Nothingface album we keep getting promised year after year. HORSE SHIT! What the hell?! I thought Mudvayne was planning to release their "heavy" album they recorded at the same time as their current mistake of one. Now barely 6 months later and a couple small tours they are back to HellYeah... fuck Greg and fuck Chad... the other Mudvayne guys need to just move on and start a kick ass heavy prog band using their amazing talents for good instead of watered down radio rock. Also Nothingface is NEVER going to release their new album. I have been hearing about this shit for years and just when you forget about it comes another news post about how the original band is making their first album since "Violence" and all this shit... LIES LIES LIES...
Just make Hellyeah the priority and spare the fans of the other bands the lies and the shit albums please!!! I hate Hellyeah but if you are going to ruin two decent bands then go ahead already and get it over with.

For those of you who are fans of Mudvayne, Nothingface, Pantera and Hellyeah.
I don't think it's true yet. Rumors for a Mudvayne/Five Finger Death Punch Tour was in the works..Mudvayne went on 2 measly tours for their new album in the US which they only played 2 new songs. No overseas tours or anything. Might I add that Mudvayne recorded another album which was planned for a summer release.
Maxwell is in the works of a Nothingface album, yet is on another project, a band called Knives Out!
So how Hellyeah can incorporate through everyone else I don't know. Unless they just drop everything and go straight to Hellyeah, which in my opinion is pretty dumb. Vinnie should just work on another band while the others do their own thing for a year or two. Hellyeah took a break in October or November of 08'. Mudvayne was planning on touring for around 2 years with both albums.
I just call this a rumor among the others..

not the best stuff around but worth checking of course.
but like some fellows here, VULGAR was NOT the last good album VP played on, all Pantera albums rule.
Damageplan was weak. Rebel Meets Rebel is "fun" stuff.
