New KISS Album Nearing Completion - May 12, 2009
KISS guitarist/vocalist Paul Stanley was a guest on today's (Tuesday, May 12) edition of "John DeBella Show" on Philadelphia's classic rock station 102.9 WMGK. During the interview, Stanley revealed that the new KISS album is almost finished and will come out in September. Paul once again said that it sounds like a typical '70s KISS LP and he said that KISS will promote the new CD with a new tour that will feature the biggest show they have ever done.

The program can now be streamed online at this location.

KISS' upcoming U.S. and Canadian tour will be the world's first to put fans in charge of where their favorite artist plays. By partnering with Eventful, the leading social media company for events, fans will "Demand" where KISS will perform on their latest trek across the top-voted North American markets beginning this September. No matter where the fans say — from stadiums to cornfields — if there are enough votes, KISS will be there! And in order to keep the competition fair for smaller cities, final site selection will weigh population size versus total votes. Fans across the U.S. and Canada can cast their votes at www.eventful.com/KISS to have their town included on the KISS 2009 North American tour. Fans are able to vote, and check the tally of what cities are in the lead, 24/7 across the web at the previous sites; as well as on KISS' MySpace and Facebook, Ticketmaster's KISS page, VH1Classic.com, and many more.

I hope this album is a good one. Psycho Circus was surprisingly one of Kiss' best albums ever... I just hope whatever they release now isn't a nostalgic self-parody like some older bands have been doing recently.

And once again they're probably using studio musicians!

sort of...I'm really (as a fan of 70's KISS) looking forward to this release. All I need is a 3 or 4 burners on this album (at least!), with some extra Rock and Roll cheese and a huge heaping of bombast, to wash it down! Come on KISS....you can do it. (I know there not reading this) and as for you Ace and Peter compleatest, hold on to the dream, cuz Eric and Tommy are KISS now as well. Let us move on. Thank You. Now then, let the thunder roar, come September.

C'mon people. Tommy Thayer is KISS? Doesn't say much for KISS. i liked Bruce. He had his own style. Eric Singer is a great drummer. I can live with him. (although he looks stupid in Peter makeup.) Tommy Thayer has two styles. Ace's, which he does passably, and his own, which is boring. Think of this: He was the guitarist in Black and Blue. They tanked. Why? BORING. THEREFORE, what will his own style in KISS be? BORING.

I'll believe it when I hear it. Life long fan but come'on... It's a little rushed (even for these guys) and they've changed (for better of for worse) as musicians & songwriters. Psycho Circus was a complete 're-write' of Destroyer/Love Gun that ended up sounding like a Disney channel 'rock' album. I hope to God I'm wrong but...

unless it comes off similar to Revenge, with the BIG Creatures drum sound.

"Psycho Circus was surprisingly one of Kiss' best albums ever... "

The band must have slipped you a mix the rest of us have never heard... I was very disappointed. Title track was OK, "Into the Void" rocked... rest of it sounded very forced. But, hey, if you got your money's worth, more power to you.

Well said.

Eric Singer is a very good drummer, but Tommy Thayer is a hack. If he wasn't in Kiss he'd be working in a guitar shop somewhere in L.A.

You Tommy bashers still kill me, you say he isnt any good because he tanked with Black and Blue, well guess what, there are great guitarist that play local clubs in every city every night that are better than most that make it big, most will probably never get seen or make it big, Tommy has made it, and he can play, They are still a headliner after 35 years and going strong. Rock on KISS!!!!!!!!!!

I do see both sides of making it, but if i got the call to play in Ace's shoes, i am there, you dont get too many chances in this world like that, can you hnestly say that you would turn it down, just because you cant play your own stuff???

I'm not saying he should have turned down the gig. Hell, if $tanley and $immon$ are paying him a decent wage, why the hell not step into Ace's costume and make-up and play the role! BUT.. I don't think that necessarily makes him a credible guitar player. He's essentially in the world's biggest cover band right now, and any number of guys could have filled that role, he was just lucky enough to be in the right place at the right time!

DLR_EngineRoom - I respect what you are saying, and there is no arguing with the die-hard KISS fan! And if you are truly happy with the new line-up, album and tour, enjoy!

As a life-long fan, I am not a "hater". But I do take exception to being dupped. Yes, Peter and Ace are no longer in the band. Fine. Bring in new players and be KISS with a new lineup. It's happened many times in the past and was perfectly acceptable. But don't try to pass off two other members as Ace and Peter! That just stinks!

No way you can compare a new cd to their 70's heyday. It will not sell like that. Hardly anyone sells like that anymore. To the poster that said KISS has done nothing since Ace left, you are misguided by your own love for Ace. KISS sold 15 million albums during the eighties....yes even without Ace. How many did Ace sell in the eighties? I'm not knocking Ace...I love him too, but to say no Ace, no KISS is mildly amusing....lol.
