JOURNEY: New Tour Dates Announced - May 13, 2009
According to The Pulse of Radio, JOURNEY has announced a 23-date summer tour kicking off on July 16 at the Moondance Jam in Walker, Minnesota and running through September 4 in Atlantic City, New Jersey and the Borgata Hotel and Casino.

The band is now fronted by Arnel Pineda on lead vocals. Guitarist Neal Schon discovered the Filipino frontman on YouTube performing the group's song "Faithfully" with his own cover band. In addition to Pineda — who sounds eerily like former frontman Steve Perry — JOURNEY now includes Schon, Jonathan Cain on keyboards, Ross Valory on bass, and Deen Castronovo on drums.

Jonathan Cain says he and the band are thrilled with how Pineda has clicked musically with the band. "Well, this guy is like right out of a Charles Dickens story," he says. "I mean, he's got an amazing tale to tell, and it's almost hard to believe he survived what he survived, y'know? So you gotta look at that and go, 'How tough is this guy?' He's as tough as they come, and I liked everything about him. (The) first week I spent with him I immediately liked him, and took him to task and told him things I though he needed to work on, certainly. But getting him out of the club was the main deal. We had to just get him to stop singing everybody else's music, y'know?"

I've never been a huge Journey fan.....I grew up in the 80's...chasing girls while their music played in the background at partys.....but I did like them. Ozzy/Crue/Kiss etc was my thing.
But I did pick up their new one with Arnel Pineda on vocals and I gotta say....this dude kicks ASS!! I really like the new cd and the bonus cd with the re-recorded Perry tunes is great.
If they play in Birmingham Alabama....I'll be there.

Check out the new cd. Awesome.

Yeah, Journey fucking rocks! Tons of guitars and solos, they definitely have fans here on the Blab.

Fuck yeah...Neal Schon is the man. That Hardline cd from the early 90's is still regularly played. The newer Journey stuff (Arrival, Red13, Revelations) is excellent. Nothing will beat Escape or Frontiers but the new stuff rocks just as well.
