TESTAMENT Cancels South American Tour
- July 14, 2009
San Francisco Bay Area thrashers TESTAMENT have canceled their previously announced South American dates in September in order to focus on recording the follow-up to their acclaimed 2008 album, "The Formation Of Damnation".
TESTAMENT will make a stop in New York City in August for a special taping of Sirius XM's "Artist Confidential" series.
"Artist Confidential" features the most important and timeless artists in music sitting down for candid interviews, intimate conversations with fans and live performances.
The show is scheduled to air later this year on Sirius XM's Liquid Metal, Sirius channel 27 and XM channel 42.
Hot on the heels of its blistering U.S. headlining tour with UNEARTH and LAZARUS A.D., TESTAMENT now hit Europe hard on a huge summer run throughout Europe, where they'll be playing the Wacken Open Air and the Brutal Assault festivals.
The band has been touring non-stop in support of "The Formation Of Damnation", including this year's Priest Feast tour in Europe with JUDAS PRIEST and a phenomenal run on the Metal Masters tour last summer with HEAVEN & HELL and MOTÖRHEAD.
Two classic albums by TESTAMENT — 1997's "Demonic" and 1999's "The Gathering" — were reissued on gatefold double vinyl by Prosthetic Records on February 3. Each features etched artwork on Side D and is limited to 1,000 copies worldwide. Additionally, 100 copies of "Demonic" feature red vinyl, while 100 copies of "The Gathering" feature gold vinyl.
"Demonic" and "The Gathering" were reissued on CD in 2008 and are currently available on all major digital platforms. Prosthetic plans to reissue additional TESTAMENT titles later in 2009.

I wish bands would tell the truth - "we weren't going to make enough money from the South American tour to turn a profit, so we're going to stay home and record a new album instead".
