SACRED REICH's 'Independent' To Be Reissued With Five Bonus Tracks - Nov. 4, 2009
The remastered edition of SACRED REICH's classic 1992 album "Independent" will be released as a digipack and jewelbox on March 15, 2010 via Displeased Records. The first 2,500 copies will contain a free SACRED REICH patch.

Bonus tracks:

* "A Question" (from "A Question" EP)
* "Let's Have A War" (FEAR cover from "A Question" EP)
* "Who's To Blame" (from "A Question" EP)
* "The Big Picture" (MDC cover from "Open Book" EP)
* "Crawling" [radio edit] (from "Crawling" EP)

MACHINE HEAD drummer Dave McClain rejoined his former SACRED REICH bandmates on stage at the Hellfest in Clisson, France on Saturday, June 22 to perform the classic SR song "Independent". Fan-filmed video footage of the performance can be viewed below (clip uploaded by Dave Ingham a.k.a. YouTube user "triptykon").

McClain was a member of SACRED REICH from 1991 to 1995. He played on the "A Question" EP (1991) and the "Independent" (1993) and "Heal" (1996) albums before leaving to join MACHINE HEAD.

Displeased Records' reissue of SACRED REICH's classic album "The American Way" came out in February. With upgraded layout, to-the-point remastering plus unreleased pre-production demo bonus tracks and a video clip, this new and improved CD reissue is an essential addition to every thrash metal collection!

"The American Way" was made available in a limited digipak version and standard jewel case version. The first 2,500 copies come with a free logo patch.

Metal Blade Records released a three-disc deluxe reissue of SACRED REICH's "Ignorance" and "Surf Nicaragua" in June 2007. Two CDs are included in the package (both remastered!) as well as a bonus DVD. The package, which was made available in Europe only, includes liner notes by Rind and Malcolm Dome (Classic Rock, Metal Hammer, Total Rock Radio) and an extensive booklet with loads of previously unpublished photos.

I love this band. What can I say that hasn't already been said before about these guys. I had the privilige to see them perform in 1990. I remember cutting class so that I could go hang out back of the old movie house they were playing just for my chance to meet them. They didn't disappoint. Nicest guys I have ever met. Even when some bonehead slashed the tire on their tour bus these cats didn't even get upset. I remember Phil just staring at this guy and asking him in a super calm manner why he would do something like that to someone. And then two of them proceeded to chat for 15-20 minutes. First class act all the way. Thanks for the great tunes, great memories and opening my mind to a whole world of music out there.

I remember when this album came out in 92. I was in 9th grade and allways had it on my headphones. Some classmates would ask who I was listening to and would have a blank stare when I told them Sacred Reich. I'd let them listen and after a few songs they were begging me to make a copy for them (tape trading days lol).

Awesome to see this coming out in re-issue! TOUR!

Saw them at Hellfest, one of the best bands of the weekend. Must admit I never cared much for Independant compared to the first 2 albums and EP but I`ll probably still pick this up.

COMMENT | Saw them this year at Rock Hard Festival in Germany

This album and the one that followed it, "Heal" were their best IMHO, they need to re-issue Heal as well. The Opening Track off of Heal, "Blue Suit, Brown Shirt" was CRUSHING!

COMMENT | Glad to see them back.

SR was just so ahead of the curve back in the day. But I have one problem: what the fuck happened to Phil? Dude's really put on a lot of weight since the old days.
