CONVERGE: New Video Interview Posted Online - Nov. 7, 2009
Metal Injection has posted a brand new interview featuring a conversation between guest correspondent Leo Miller (vocalist of the now-defunct ANIMOSITY) and Kurt Bellou and Nate Newton of CONVERGE. During the chat, Miller asks CONVERGE about the group's new record ("Axe To Fall"), the longevity of the band, how much of a future they have together and more. Also, look out for a special cameo by vocalist Jacob Bannon who crashes the interview and starts interviewing Miller.

"Axe To Fall" sold 3,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release to debut at position No. 163 on The Billboard 200 chart. The CD was released on October 20 through Epitaph Records.

Produced by guitarist Kurt Ballou at his Godcity studios in Salem, Massachusetts, "Axe To Fall" features guest appearances from Steve Brodsky (CAVE IN), Adam McGrath (CAVE IN), J.R. Connors (CAVE IN, DOOMRIDERS), Uffe Cederlund (DISFEAR, ex-ENTOMBED), John Pettibone (THE VOWS, HIMSA), Steve Von Till (NEUROSIS) and Mookie Singerman (GENGHIS TRON).

just awful
-
if you plan to see Mastodon/Dethklok, do yourself a favor and use Converge's set as an opportunity to take a power dump ...or even rub SOS pads on your ears, it'd be much more pleasurable than listening to even 5 minutes of this horrible band

....somebody's girlfriend had to have slept with the promoter, otherwise it makes NO sense how they got this gig

One of the albums of the year, but that's only because this year has been VERY strong for metal releases. Also, it's awful that Converge are opening for garbage like Dethklok. People must only be buying the album because they like the cartoon (which is also a pile of shit), the music is fucking terrible.

I think the show is amusing but how in the fuck can they have CONVERGE merely open? The hipsters at those shows have no idea what metal/hardcore truly are. Axe To Fall - Album of the Year.

I saw Converge in Toronto on this tour, and they sounded wicked. The only band out of place on this tour is Dethklok by a long shot. Also, that fucking interviewer deserves a fucking punch to the face. Who straight up asks a band if they're the type to break up? Who hired this fucking ass clown?

Converge are probably on the tour because of Mastodon. The weird thing on the bill is Dethklok.

The new Converge album is AMAZING!

The singer just yells and grunts, it sounds like he says FUCK over and over again. How is that lyrical?

Tcrash247- I don't think you're listening to the right band because that's not what the vocals/lyrics sound like.
WhatInSamHill- Actually, no. This is the 4th time Converge and Mastodon have toured together. They've been friends since before Mastodon was a band. Converge actually took Mastodon out as an opener for them, twice. Convverge is a very well established underground hardcore/metal band who've been around for almost 20 years with about 10 albums out (if you count some of the splits and what not) who have a very healthy draw all over the world and sell a lot of a records.
