YNGWIE MALMSTEEN Covers MICHAEL JACKSON Classic 'Beat It' On 'High Impact' Compilation

Legendary Swedish guitarist Yngwie Malmsteen will release a new album called "High Impact" on December 8 (one day earlier internationally). The set is described as "a mind-boggling, high-paced compilation record" featuring a "surprise" bonus track — Yngwie's never-before-released interpretation of the MICHAEL JACKSON mega-hit classic "Beat It", which contains Malmsteen's own magical touch and ex- JUDAS PRIEST/ ICED EARTH frontman Tim "Ripper" Owens on vocals. "High Impact" track listing: 01. Caprici Di Dablo02. Brothers03. Blitzkrieg04. Trilogy Suite05. Red House06. Finale07. Magic City08. Arpeggios From Hell09. Far Beyond The Sun10. Cantabile11. Blue12. Overture 162213. Fugue14. Beat It (MICHAEL JACKSON cover) Rising Force Records has begun releasing rare archival concert footage that many Malmsteen collectors will want to have. The first is Yngwie in Korea, which was madea available on October 13, 2009. This is the raw footage that was shot by the Korean media, and it features no bells and whistles. Malmsteen in March released an all-instrumental acoustic album, "Angels Of Love", which contains rearrangements of his ballad songs played on acoustic guitar and string and choir arrangements only. It is a masterpiece showing the tender, delicate version of his classic songs as well as a new composition. Yngwie also released two DVDs via Rising Force Records in March — "Live Animal" and "Live In Budokan". "Perpetual Flame", the latest full-length studio album from Malmsteen, was the first-ever Yngwie effort to be issued via Rising Force Records, It marked the debut of Malmsteen's new singer, Tim "Ripper" Owens. ***UPDATE***: Artwork below is **NOT** the official album art

When Metallica covered that piece of shit Bob Seger song I quit listening to Metallica. When Children of Bodom covered Britney Spears, I traded in their CD's for some Fishbone singles.

Yngwie has lost it his records aren't all that good no mater who the singer is. A cover of 'Beat It' is that the big surprise well let me tell you it's a weak one. Too say he covered Black Sabbath's Heaven and Hell with Ripper on vocals now that would have been a huge surprise but this sorry I'll pass.

Metal isn't about being popular or not being popular, it's the people like you that want it to stay underground, but if it doesn't, for a second, then whatever album they released at that time is the "sell out album."

michael jackson-doesn't stand against, or for anything that metal is about. to a metal fan, michael jackson is michael jackson. One of the very few pop artists that isn't over rated, or under rated. The respect that he has by musicians is 100% fair, he earned it from the groundbreaking music that he made.
Eddie Van Halen introduced a lot of different guitar oriented things to the guitar world, to him, he is a god to the metal community, regardless of fame or not.

Considering this is his 5th 'Best Of' it's nice to see virtually no duplication from the previous compilations.
Beat it? Raintime already covered it a couple years back. He has done a few odd covers over the years, Abba and so on.
His new label (Rising Force) is pretty busy, this is the fifth release this year!

Anyone who doesn't like something "because it's popular" is an idiot. MJ actually had good, memorable songs which have stood the test of time, there's a reason why he became as popular as he did. There is good music and there is bad music . I understand that when you are a bit younger you may take huge pride in your genre but this is not where Yng is at right now so get it out dude and lets hear it I'm sure it will be a nice change from the ususal I am a viking thing which although good it's a bit old now also, Yng reinvent yoour look too dude. Michael Jackson's music rules (all of POP). And Beat It is an awesome piece of rock-pop IMO.
Word of advice... learn to appreciate differents types of music and you will open up a whole new world of great experiences...
