If METALLICA Were Its Own Country... - Sep. 28, 2009
Jim Breuer, comedian, Sirius XM host and diehard METALLICA fan, sat down for a rare and hilarious interview with all the members of the legendary metal band for his weekly show on Sirius XM's Raw Dog comedy channel. The hour-long interview, taped before the band's performance at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey on February 1, 2009, delved into rare subject matter and humorous hypotheticals, including which band member each would call to help hide a body and whether they would be OK playing a gay man in a movie role. The special also included a quiz portion where each member is quizzed on prices of common household products to determine how out of touch, if at all, they are from everyday life.

The fifth webisode featuring highlights from the interview contains the question: "What role would you be if METALLICA were its own country? The choices are: President, Vice President, Secretary of State, and Foreign Affairs."

***Note: Even though the above-mentioned interview was conducted back in February, and the audio version originally aired the same month, the video footage of this particular portion of the chat was not uploaded until this week.***

"Fridays with Breuer" is an intimate show hosted by Jim Breuer, one of the county's most outrageous and beloved comedians. Breuer invites millions of Sirius XM listeners each week into his life and brain, sharing hilarious anecdotes about his adventures as a family man, doing impressions of his favorite performers, riffing on his colorful experiences from performing around the country, and discussing his beloved New York Mets, his favorite rock legends and more.

MEGADETH Drummer Interviewed On 'Good Time Metal Oldies' Radio Show - Sep. 28, 2009
On September 24, 2009, Jason Saulnier of the "GTMO" (Good Time Metal Oldies) radio show conducted an interview with MEGADETH drummer Shawn Drover. The chat is now available for streaming in two parts below.

MEGADETH's new album, "Endgame", sold 45,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release to debut at position No. 9 on The Billboard 200 chart. The CD shifted 8,200 units in Canada to land at No. 4 on the country's official chart.

MEGADETH's previous CD, "United Abominations", opened with around 54,000 copies in the U.S. to debut at No. 8. This was more than the 46,000 first-week tally registered by its predecessor, "The System Has Failed" (which landed at No. 18 on The Billboard 200 chart), and was a bit less than the 61,000 opening number of 2001's "The World Needs A Hero" (No. 16).

"Endgame" was recorded at MEGADETH's brand new, self-built studio in San Marcos, California — Vic's Garage — which was named after the legendary and iconic Vic Rattlehead character. The CD was helmed by MEGADETH mainman Dave Mustaine and British producer Andy Sneap (EXODUS, NEVERMORE, ARCH ENEMY, MACHINE HEAD).

MEGADETH and SLAYER will team up for the Canadian Carnage East five-date tour in November. The trek kicks off on November 8 in Moncton, NB and wraps up in Toronto on November 13. The tour will feature MACHINE HEAD and SUICIDE SILENCE, and will see MEGADETH and SLAYER alternating the closing spot. Tickets go on sale this Friday, September 18 at 10:00 a.m. local time.

MEGADETH and SLAYER laid waste to four Canadian cities earlier in June when they joined up for the first Canadian Carnage, marking the first time the bands had shared a stage anywhere in 18 years.

AS I LAY DYING To Enter Studio Next Month - Sep. 28, 2009
Vocalist Tim Lambesis of San Diego metallers AS I LAY DYING has issued the following update:

"Songwriting [for the next AS I LAY DYING CD] has been going well, with about 6-7 songs done.

"We decided to officially start recording the new AS I LAY DYING album on October 17. At that point we'll record as many songs as we can and then finish the album around the New Year. I think this will be a good way to spread out our songwriting since most of our previous records have always been written within a few months."

Tim Lambesis was interviewed by Eric Blair of "The Blairing Out With Eric Blair Show" on September 5, 2009 at the Liskfest in Irvine, California. Watch the chat in two parts below.

AS I LAY DYING's first-ever DVD, "This Is Who We Are", sold 4,200 copies in the United States in its first week of release to land at position No. 2 on the Top Music Videos chart. It also debuted at No. 3 in Canada, where the DVD has already shipped platinum.

AS I LAY DYING has appeared on Taste Of Chaos, Ozzfest, headlined the 2006 Sounds Of The Underground Tour, Cornerstone, Bamboozle 2006 and just about every significant hard music festival around the globe. With "This Is Who We Are", AS I LAY DYING steps into new territory by releasing its first-ever DVD consisting of three discs produced and directed by Denise Korycki (CANNIBAL CORPSE's "Centuries of Torment" DVD) that provide viewers with live performances and a complete AS I LAY DYING audio/visual history.

"It's hard to believe that we've been a band for as long as we have yet have never released an official DVD documenting our first seven years," said Lambesis. "As a result, we've included so much content that you hardly have to like our music to be entertained. With that said, it feels good knowing how many diehard fans over the years have supported our band and their simple enjoyment of our music has given us the chance to see the world!"

Woman Found Guilty Of Assaulting Deputy After MÖTLEY CRÜE Concert - Sep. 28, 2009

MATT SORUM On Second VELVET REVOLVER CD: We Fell Prey To More Of What WEILAND Wanted - Sep. 28, 2009
Blistering.com's Greg Dixon conducted an interview with VELVET REVOLVER/ex-GUNS N' ROSES drummer Matt Sorum on September 16, 2009 when Sorum played the House of Blues in Orlando, Florida as the temporary replacement for MOTÖRHEAD's Mikkey Dee. A few snippets from the chat follow below.

Blistering.com: How did you get on this tour with MOTÖRHEAD?

Matt Sorum: I have no idea…[laughs] No, I just happened to be at the Rainbow, [laughs]. No, I have played with Lemmy a few times out in L.A. guess he liked the way I played "Ace of Spades". So he figured I could play the rest of the stuff [laughs]. He called me up, well, he texted me first, 'cause he does not do e-mail, and he asked would I be up to coming out and playing. I thought that was a real honor, you know, so I called him back right away, asked when can we get together and rehearse.

Blistering.com: Lemmy rehearses?

Sorum: We don't have time to do that. So I flew out, met the band on the road, watched some of the shows and I joined the band in Washington, D.C. and started the tour with them.

Blistering.com: What were you doing before the tour?

Sorum: Not much… waiting to get VELVET REVOLVER back, doing some film scores, producing my girlfriend's band, DARLING STILETTOS, and playing in my band CAMP FREDDY. It was really cool to get the phone call. I was very happy to get the call!

Blistering.com: Do you think VELVET REVOLVER will get back together?

Sorum: I think it will. We have been e-mailing back and forth, in search of a singer, so we have high expectations. We want to make sure this singer will work and be a better thing. We looked a long time before we got Scott [Weiland], and I don't know if we got Scott because it seemed like an easy way to fill the bill. I know we want to take it up a notch and make it better. When we got Scott, we jumped into it pretty quick. Even though Me, Slash, Duff [McKagan] and Dave [Kushner] have been working together on the first record before Scott came on, then Scott jumped on and we went on the road and did the record pretty quick. The second album, I think, we fell prey to more of what Scott wanted to do and we wanted to straight-up rock and roll. I think this time around we would like to make a real strong rock album and stick with more of our roots.

Blistering.com: I know you, Slash and Duff had your own chemistry. Was it hard to mesh with Scott when he came in?

Sorum: No, not really. The first record, he picked the songs. We had about fifty songs written. He just started to sing on them. That album happened real organically and really quickly. When we went to write the second album, it seemed to take different road, which I always wanted to make a harder record, but I think we went a little lighter and the fans didn’t really care for [it] that much. I think the second record is a good one but we did what we did. I think it was a weird chemistry between us.

ANTHRAX Guitarist Featured In ZOOM Q3 Video Recorder Ad - Sep. 28, 2009
ANTHRAX axeman Scott Ian and THE DONNAS/CHELSEA GIRLS guitarist Allison Robertson are featured in a new ad (see image below) for the Zoom Q3 video recorder, which is scheduled for release on October 9.

ANTHRAX — featuring vocalist John Bush (ANTHRAX's singer from 1992 to 2005) — will perform at this year's installment of the Loud Park festival, set to take place October 17-18 at Makuhari Messe, a convention center in Japan located in the western region of Chiba Prefecture, close to Tokyo.

For more information, visit www.loudpark.com.

What many consider to be ANTHRAX's greatest album, 1987's "Among The Living", has been expanded with bonus tracks and a concert DVD, and digitally remastered for the first time, for the CD+DVD package "Among The Living (Deluxe Edition)" (Island/Megaforce/UMe), released November 10, 2009. Issued simultaneously will be the two-CD set "Caught In A Mosh: BBC Live In Concert" (Island/Megaforce/UMe), which brings together 1987 U.K. concerts from the "Among The Living" world tour recorded at Hammersmith Odeon and the Donington festival. Making its U.S. debut, "Caught In A Mosh: BBC Live In Concert" was originally released internationally in 2007.

ANTHRAX parted ways with singer Dan Nelson in July due to what has been described as "personal differences." As a result, the band canceled 10 European shows and pulled out of a U.S. tour with SLIPKNOT which was scheduled to take place in August and September.

ANTHRAX's manager, Izvor Zivkovic of Split Media, told BLABBERMOUTH.NET on July 21 that the band's new album, "Worship Music", which was previously due in Europe on October 23 via Nuclear Blast Records, will now be "pushed back to a later date." According to Ian, Dan Nelson's tracks will most likely be erased from the CD, which was mixed at a New Orleans studio by Dave Fortman (a former member of UGLY KID JOE who has also worked with artists such as MUDVAYNE, EVANESCENCE).

INCOMING CEREBRAL OVERDRIVE: 'Controversial' Video Posted Online - Sep. 28, 2009

While blistering and technical, INCOMING CEREBRAL OVERDRIVE's songs "create something rather unique and multiform; the combination of their furious dynamics, searing vocals, '70s Italian prog reminiscence, and psychedelic aesthetic show ICO's will to continuously experiment and mutate song structures," according to a press release.

INCOMING CEREBRAL OVERDRIVE is:

Samuele Storai: Vocals
Stefano Tocci: Guitar/Synth
Maurizio Tuci: Guitar

New ALICE IN CHAINS Singer: 'At The End Of The Day, All I Can Do Is Just Be Me' - Sep. 28, 2009
Steven Rosen of Ultimate-Guitar.com recently conducted an interview with new ALICE IN CHAINS singer William DuVall. A few excerpts from the chat follow below.

Ultimate-Guitar.com: "Black Gives Way to Blue" is the first ALICE IN CHAINS album in 14 years. Was there some unspoken burden placed upon you to really step up to the plate and create something monumental in terms of the past legacy of the band?

DuVall: At the end of the day, all I can do is just be me. I think when you just rely on your own instincts and your own wherewithal, you usually end up OK. I kinda got into this band under circumstances where it wasn't like there was some master plan in early 2006 when they asked me to do those initial shows that eventually led to a full year of touring. At that point, it was really kind of one event at a time. And so the very first thing I did with them was the VH1 show honoring HEART. That was filmed in an arena for television and it's like it doesn't get any deeper than that. The water doesn't get any deeper and you just have to swim. I think, from that moment, it was just kind of a thing of, "Look, I'm gonna go out here and I'm just gonna be myself." That's all you can do and let the chips fall where they may. Then a week after that VH1 show, we were standing on a stage in front of 40,000 people in Portugal. And I was like, "Wow, how did we get here? OK, just go out and do this." And that's kind of been the approach every day. We all have very high standards for ourselves. I set sometimes unbearably high standards for myself [laughs]. But that's how you excel in anything and that's how you grow as a person. And this experience has taught all of us a lot about personal growth individually and collectively.

Ultimate-Guitar.com: Can you talk about what you bring to ALICE IN CHAINS that is different than what [late ALICE IN CHAINS singer] Layne [Staley] brought?

DuVall: One thing is ALICE basically become sort of a two-guitar band whenever we want to be. I started out as a guitar player; I never started playing music with the idea of being a singer. That came much, much later in the game. And so that sensibility of me being a guitar player first in my mind and the interaction that that creates with [Jerry] Cantrell and [Mike] Inez and Sean [Kinney], I think, lends itself to a different kind of jamming than they perhaps used to be able to do. Just the other day, we finished soundcheck and Kinney and I just didn't want to stop. We went into a frickin' BAND OF GYPSYS-meets-WHITE STRIPES jam. Those are the kinds of things that happen night after night. You get home from the tours that you do and you assess what you have. We actually had enough at the end of '06 that we were considering taking all of 2007 off and then VELVET REVOLVER asked us to go out. We said, "Sure," and once again you're on tour and there's stuff happening. And that tour we actually took one step further and had a dedicated jam room backstage every night. Because we were playing these sheds with VELVET REVOLVER and so there's enough backstage area there where you can have your dressing room and you can have your tuning room. So we had a full-on setup every day; you could just roll off the bus in your pajamas and go rock if you wanted to. And it was cool; sometimes only one of us would be in there; sometimes all four of us would be in there; and sometimes any combination of two or three; and sometimes Duff [McKagan] would show up or Slash. It was just a rolling musical circus every day.

Ultimate-Guitar.com: Can you explain the chemistry between Jerry and you and the other guys?

DuVall: I don't know, man; that is a tough thing to try to put a fine point on. When I moved with my band from Atlanta to Los Angeles back in 2000, he was one of the first people I met. My band, COMES WITH THE FALL, came out there and we had our first album ['Comes With the Fall'] that we recorded in Atlanta and we came armed with that to drop a bomb on Hollywood. And we did; we played every dive that would have us. At some point, a mutual point had turned Jerry onto that album and he just flipped out over it and was hanging out with every moment practically after that. He was jumping onstage to play our songs with us. He would learn 'em and he'd be in our apartment and ask me to show him how this one went or that one went. Or I'd say, "What are you doing on 'Sickman'?" or whatever. I don't know why it happened; I think there are a lot of characteristics that we share in terms of just being really kind of certain of what we're doing musically. Maybe that was part of it. I really don't know beyond that. It's been a much of years; it's been a lot of personal changes that have gone down over the last decade with both of us. We've stuck together and it's finally led us to this point. I just think that maybe it was in part what you just said — that I'm not Layne, that I'm not somebody who would try to be Layne. All of those things to me are unthinkable to even attempt — I'm too busy just being me and that's enough, that's enough to contend with.

Ultimate-Guitar.com: What does go through your head when you sing the old Alice songs that Layne sang on? Are you consciously trying to make them your own or attempting to stay faithful to the original? Is Layne looking over your shoulder?

DuVall: Yeah, you know, he's there, looking.

Ultimate-Guitar.com: Did you know Layne personally?

DuVall: No, I didn't; I only know him through his work. When Cantrell and I met and actually started touring together, my group COMES WITH THE FALL did double duty backing him up and opening for him when he was getting the "Degradation Trip" record off the ground. And so we were actually the touring band for that as well as the opening act. We did it for two years straight, man, all of 2001 and 2002. We went all over the place and that's how he and I kind of bonded on the road beyond the initial bonding that took place in Hollywood, right? So, we'd be on a ride somewhere and he'd have some story or somethin' from the past about Layne. There were a lot of times where he'd say, "Man, you guys would get along so great." Of course, Layne was still living for most of that time. When we were on the road during the 2002 run that we did, Layne passed while we were on tour. So I was with him [Cantrell] for all of that. I didn't know him but I feel like I do because of the work and because of being around these guys who carry him with them everywhere that we go. And all the stories and the funny stuff. And it just seemed like I would have liked him a whole lot. I certainly loved his work; I loved his singing. When I'm singing those tunes, I'm just trying to sing 'em from my own place of truth. Again, that's all you can do. I'm gonna get inside (the songs) in terms of melodic liberties. I do a little of that occasionally just if it hits me to do it just because I'm inside of it. I don't do it consciously. In other words, I'm not trying to consciously stray away from it and just putting my stamp on it and getting all "American Idol" all over it. At the same though, even if I'm faithful completely note-for-note to a certain part of a tune or something like that, it's still coming from me. I'm in it, you know what I mean? The fact is, Layne was singing a lot of songs he didn't write. He did it from his own place of honesty and truth and he was himself and he was amazing so why would I do anything other than that myself? Even songs that he did write that were very much from a personal experience, what's cool about those songs is the feelings behind those personal experiences are universal feelings. It's just different shades of the blues. I understand that; I get that, man! So, there's no problem there, no disconnect there. Just get it done, you know what I mean?

PAMELA MOORE Interviewed By HMTV Canada; Audio Available - Sep. 28, 2009
DJ Tina of HMTV Canada recently conducted an interview with singer Pamela Moore, best known for her performance as Sister Mary on QUEENSRŸCHE's 1988 epic release "Operation: Mindcrime" and 2006's sequel "Operation: Mindcrime II". The chat is now available for streaming using the audio player below.

Pamela Moore's latest CD, "Stories from a Blue Room", was helmed by Grammy Award-winning producer Neil Kernon and features 11 songs that were co-written by Benjamin Anderson (ex-RORSCHACH TEST). The recording and mixing took place at Sonic Ranch Studios and Robert Lang Studios with Jason Kowalski (N17, ABIGAIL WILLIAMS) on drums, Jeff Loomis (NEVERMORE) on guitar, Michael Wilton (QUEENSRŸCHE, SOULBENDER) and Anderson, Brian Gordon (ION VEIN) on bass and even some backing vocals provided by Terri Nunn (BERLIN).

Despite her rise to stardom through her dramatic and captivating portrayal of Sister Mary in "Operation: Mindcrime", Pamela Moore has also found fame in her own right, having released her own recordings, contributed her voice to various radio and television commercials, and with a background in theater.

Pamela was given the opportunity to record her first album with a now-defunct Seattle-based record label First American Records. Her first release, 1981's "Take a Look", did very well regionally and was one of the stepping stones that led her down the path she finds herself now. A second LP, "You Wont Find Me There", which was released in 1982, never had a chance to surface as the company folded just after its release. Billboard magazine penned her as an AOR, blue-eyed soul artist, destined for success which was a far cry from what was to be her most memorable endeavor, QUEENSRŸCHE.

After the immense success of the "Operation: Mindcrime" world tour, Pamela moved on to other endeavors such as recording songs with a band called RADAR out of New York, living there for two years to work on her craft before returning to Seattle. RADAR released its debut album, "RPM", in 2000. Other projects Pamela has been involved with are include work with Brian Johnson of AC/DC, singing backup on a few selected concerts with Paul Rodgers of BAD COMPANY and QUEEN, and cameo stage appearances with her cousin, Terri Nunn of BERLIN.

OZZY OSBOURNE Recalls Near-Fatal Quad Bike Crash - Sep. 28, 2009
According to WalesOnline.co.uk, Ozzy Osbourne has revealed that while in a coma after his near-fatal quad bike crash in 2003 he hallucinated about being in Wales.

The legendary heavy metal singer said that after the horrific neck break at his Buckinghamshire home, he dreamt he was back at Monmouth's Rockfield Studios where he'd recorded with BLACK SABBATH, only to discover his wife Sharon having an affair with a wealthy pilot.

"It was fucking nuts, man," laughed the singer, whose raucous rock-and-roll life story "I Am Ozzy" hits the shelves on Wednesday (October 1).

"I'd been racing along this dirt trail and my front wheels hit a pothole," added the 60-year-old who was enjoying newfound fame in "The Osbournes" at the time, the hit fly-on-the-wall reality TV show about his outrageous family life.

"The bike shot out from under me and did a back flip in the air, throwing me on to the grass. For about a millionth of a second, I thought, 'Oh well, that wasn't so bad.' Then the whole lot landed on top of me. Crack!"

"I have done my best to show new and classic songs never captured on camera before, including the much-requested 'Mountains' and songs from the new EP, 'Thunder In The Sky'. It will be a step above 'Hell On Earth IV' in quality and spectacle."

The DVD will be available for pre-sale exclusively through MANOWAR's official merchandise shop, The Kingdom Of Steel.

"Father", the first song released from MANOWAR's new EP, "Hammer Of The Gods", was recorded in 16 languages and was included as a bonus CD with the band's new EP, "Thunder In The Sky".

Destined to be a collector's item, the tour edition of the EP was made available at all the festivals MANOWAR headlined on the "Death to Infidels Tour!". In addition, the EP is available for sale online in high-quality, DMR-free, MP3 format only at The Kingdom Of Steel online store. The downloadable version of the EP contains the exact same content as the version on sale during the tour.

MANOWAR's new album, "Hammer Of The Gods", which is the first installment of "The Asgard Saga", the band's unique multimedia fantasy adventure with best-selling author Wolfgang Hohlbein, is tentatively due before the end of the year.

ABIGOR Completes Recording New Album - Sep. 28, 2009
Austrian black metallers ABIGOR have issued the following update:

"The recordings for the new [ABIGOR] album (the joint venture with [French black metal group] BLACKLODGE, where both [bands] have worked on the same topic and the release will be a split or at least parallel) are finally completed, at this very moment the mix is laid down, and mastering is scheduled for October 11. Expect a release on End All Life soon!

"The album is truly a monument (a word often used, but hardly ever justified) that makes the profound and inevitable link between Satan and all man painfully visible like few others, if any, have before. Through the 'subject' of time, the album is exactly at the centre of human existence, the metamorphosis that's possible when flesh becomes one with His principle — gloria victoria!"

ABIGOR's latest album, "Fractal Possesion", was released in May 2007.

"Anomaly" sold around 17,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release to debut at position No. 27 on The Billboard 200 chart. The CD also landed at No. 20 in Sweden and No. 52 in Germany.

The bands on this tour have definitely turned it up a notch, and this is a tour not to be missed. Come bang your heads with the real metal dudes!"

"The Eternal Return", the latest full-length record from DARKEST HOUR, sold 4,700 copies in the United States in its first week of release to debut at position No. 104 on The Billboard 200 chart. SUICIDAL TENDENCIES To Headline WE THE PEOPLE Festival - Sep. 28, 2009
Long-running Venice Beach, California thrash/punk band SUICIDAL TENDENCIES will headline this year's installment of the We The People festival, set to take place Saturday, November 21 at the Los Angeles Center Studios.

For more information, visit www.wethepeoplefestival.com.

SUICIDAL TENDENCIES in January released a video for the band's new single, "Come Alive". Vocalist Mike Muir told the Great Falls Tribune about the song's lyrical content, "There's a lot of people ... their heart's beating and they've got brain waves, but they're not livin.' It's about taking control and standing up and realizing that you're always gonna have an excuse to sit back and wait and see what happens. You've gotta take control. I've gotta take control. I don't want someone else to have that control, and I'll do my best to fight to keep them from having it."

"Come Alive" is included on "Year Of The Cycos", the first album from the SUICIDAL crew featuring all-new tracks from the "cycos." The CD is available from ST's "Suicyco Street Team" web site.

Drummer Dave Hildago Jr. played his last show with SUICIDAL TENDENCIES in September 2008 at the We The People festival in Los Angeles. His full-time replacement is Eric Moore, who previously played with the long-running SUICIDAL side project INFECTIOUS GROOVES. According to the group, "Eric has an unbelievable mixture of power and finesse and the band is extra excited about the upcoming tours."

A brand new SUICIDAL TENDENCIES studio album is expected in late 2009 or early 2010.

INHALE EXHALE Filming New Video Today - Sep. 28, 2009
Cleveland, Ohio experimental metallers INHALE EXHALE are filming a video for the new song "Did You Ever Have A Touch To Lose?" today (Monday, September 28) near Greensboro, North Carolina. According to a press release, the clip will echo the track's "push-and-pull tension — the ferocious riffage juxtaposed with singer Ryland Raus' pleading melodies, the snarling screams colliding with the frantic guitar leads — with its striking usage of lighting in the darkest contexts." "We wanted it to be a feeling of being surrounded," says guitarist and primary songwriter John LaRussa. "There is going to be a lot of live performance shots, and a lot of lights and blinders going on."

"Did You Ever Have A Touch To Lose?" comes off INHALE EXHALE's third album, "Bury Me Alive", which is scheduled for release on October 6 via Solid State Records. The follow-up to 2008's "I Swear..." is "a career-defining exercise in dynamics and energy, combining squelchy, feral guitars cascading off of commanding screams and pleading melodies," according to a press release. "It's a dizzying give-and-take of brawny riffage and chiming, atmospheric guitar tapestries."

"With 'Bury Me Alive', we really sat down and tried to do something different and fresh for our fans," explains LaRussa. "We feel like this is the album they wanted us to write also. There is a lot more energy in the songs, and we stepped it up a notch on heavy progressive side of things."

After releasing two rapid-fire albums in just over two years, the members of INHALE EXHALE enjoyed a brief but well-earned respite in early 2009, during which babies were born and marriages were performed. But, following a few idyllic months off the road, the boys are keyed up for another round of revelry with their fans, centering around the release of "Bury Me Alive".

Says LaRussa: "We are the most excited we've been since the creation of INHALE EXHALE. This is the first record that we all really sit and listen to and enjoy 100%, and most importantly, we really are all on the same mindset as a band and as friends, and we're excited to hit the road to support this album."

"Bury Me Alive" track listing:

01. Rooms
02. Did You Ever Have A Touch To Lose?
03. Condemned
04. Over And Out
05. A Dark Place For Your Mind To Be
06. Intentions
07. Explosions
08. Fiction
09. Better Her Than Me
10. Thin Black Lines
11. An Era

HATEBREED: Entire New Album Available For Streaming - Sep. 28, 2009
The forthcoming self-titled album from Connecticut hardcore/metal masters HATEBREED is available for streaming in its entirety at AOL Music.

"Hatebreed" is scheduled for release in North America on September 29 via E1 Music (formerly KOCH Records). The effort will be available on CD, digital download, vinyl and special edition with a bonus 65-minute DVD. The follow-up to 2006's "Supremacy" will be issued on Roadrunner in all other territories.

"Hatebreed" track listing:

01. Become The Fuse
02. Not My Master
03. Between Hell And A Heartbeat
04. In Ashes They Shall Reap
05. Hands Of A Dying Man
06. Everyone Bleeds Now
07. No Halos For The Heartless
08. Through The Thorns
09. Every Lasting Scar
10. As Damaged As Me
11. Words Became Untruth
12. Undiminished
13. Merciless Tide
14. Pollution Of The Soul
15. Escape (New Diehard Edit)

"In Ashes They Shall Reap", the new video from HATEBREED, can be viewed below.

Commented HATEBREED frontman Jamey Jasta: "'In Ashes They Shall Reap' is the first song we decided to focus on from our new album. I feel like this song will go on to become a big part of our live show as fans become more and more familiar with it. 'Live For This', 'I Will Be Heard' and 'Destroy Everything' followed a similar type musical structure where the call and response part of the song become mini-anthems onto themselves and the audience responds accordingly and we feed off that energy.

"We shot this video a few weeks back in Hartford, Connecticut with our longtime friend/director Dale 'Rage' Resteghini, who also shot 'Defeatist' and some of our earlier clips as well.

"The video captures the essence of the song and all the die-hard fans that came out to be a part of the live video shoot brought it to another level. We owe a lot to our fans for being the most amazing die-hards ever. We can't wait to start playing this song live and re-creating the energy you're about to see…"

SKELETONWITCH: New Webisode Released - Sep. 28, 2009
Athens, Ohio extreme metallers SKELETONWITCH have released the second in a series of webisodes documenting the recording process for their upcoming album, "Breathing the Fire". The four-minute clip, which focuses on Derrick "Mullet Chad" Nau tracking drums with producer Jack Endino (NIRVANA, HIGH ON FIRE, SOUNDGARDEN), can be viewed below.

SKELETONWITCH began recording "Breathing The Fire" on June 14 in Seattle at both Studio Litho (owned by PEARL JAM guitarist Stone Gossard) and Endino's own Soundhouse Recording.

Pre-order packages for "Breathing The Fire" — which is due on October 13 — are now available on Prosthetic Records' webstore. The iTunes version of the album includes an exclusive bonus track called "Only No Rest for the Dead".

The cover artwork for "Breathing the Fire" can be viewed below. The cover was designed by Andrei Bouzikov, who has previously worked with MUNICIPAL WASTE and many others.

Commented guitarist Scott Hedrick: "The art really sums up the new album and what drew me to heavy metal in the first place: it's brutal, evil, and in a sadistic way, it's f#$king fun! 'Breathing the Fire' is meaner, faster, and far more sickening than 'Beyond the Permafrost', and the art reflects that. We went for the jugular, and so does Andrei's art. He did an amazing job. It's f#$king killer when the artist and band share a similar approach: organic. Blood and sweat, ink and paint, tubes in amps, and non-triggered drums. A set of balls. Not gym shorts, sterile computer generated art, effects pedals and redundant arpeggios."

Audio samples of all tracks that are set to appear on "Breathing The Fire" are available for streaming on Amazon.de.

SKELETONWITCH is currently on tour with CHILDREN OF BODOM and THE BLACK DAHLIA MURDER through October 12 and then will provide support to THE BLACK DAHLIA MURDER along with TOXIC HOLOCAUST and TRAP THEM. The band will then head to Europe for a rotating co-headline run with TOXIC HOLOCAUST and GOATWHORE.

THANATOSCHIZO: More Video Footage From The Studio Posted Online - Sep. 28, 2009
Portuguese avant-garde maniacs THANATOSCHIZO have uploaded the second in a series of video reports from the recording sessions for the band's new, semi-acoustic album. The band chose "RAWoid" (a theme that merges "RAW" from the group's first album, "Schizo Level", and "Void" from their third effort, "Turbulence") as the song which will be gradually portrayed in these video blogs.

THANATOSCHIZO is recording the new CD in two different facilities: Teatro de Vila Real in their hometown, Vila Real; and the group's own Blind & Lost Studios in Santa Marta de Penaguião, Portugal. For the first time, the bandmembers are assuming the production duties themselves and are being assisted by sound engineers Pedro Cabral and Paulo Almeida.

THANATOSCHIZO guitarist Guilhermino Martins previously stated about the new album's recording sessions: "We now feel mature enough to face this challenge in our career and it's also a way of the band going full circle, since we have recorded our first demo in Vila Real in 1998. Since then we've been working with Luís Barros (drummer of TARANTULA), learning a lot through the four CDs and one EP recordings at Rec'n'Roll Studios, but now we feel sufficiently confident to step ahead alone."

The as-yet-untitled CD will contain reworked songs from all THANATOSCHIZO albums — "Schizo Level", "InsomniousNightLift", "Turbulence" and "Zoom Code" — featuring an even more avant-garde approach with ethnical and progressive distinctive touches, already hinted on the band's "regular" releases.

The CD will be released by Major Label Industries and will contain some collaborations that the band will announce in due course.

THANATOSCHIZO's fourth album, "Zoom Code", was released in March 2008 via My Kingdom Music (Recital Records in Portugal). The CD was produced by Luis Barros (TARANTULA) and was mastered by Tommy Newton (CONCEPTION, HELLOWEEN). It features guest appearances by Svein Egil Hatlevik (ZWEIZZ, FLEURETY, ex-DØDHEIMSGARD) and Timb Harris of ESTRADASPHERE/SECRET CHIEFS 3.

KORN Frontman Says HEAD, SILVERIA 'Weren't Really There' During Songwriting For Early Albums - Sep. 28, 2009
The Pulse of Radio reports: KORN releases the first of four free, exclusive digital EPs on Monday (September 28), with the EP available exclusively to Premium Members of Korn.com. The release contains an instrumental demo called "Korn 11" from the band's upcoming album, an early demo from singer Jonathan Davis called "Starting Over", and a live, extended version of the group's cover of PINK FLOYD's "Another Brick In The Wall", recorded live this past July at a Norwegian festival.

KORN is currently working on its ninth studio album, which is due out sometime in early 2010. Although only three members of the original lineup — Davis, guitarist James "Munky" Shaffer and bassist Reginald "Fieldy" Arvizu — remain, Davis said that the essence of KORN is intact. "I'll lay it down to you right now: all the writing was done by Fieldy and Munky," he said. "David [Silveria, ex-drummer] was there to write beats, but he wasn't really there. Head [ex-guitarist Brian Welch] wasn't really there for any of it, because he was so jacked up on drugs and worrying about other things. So the core of KORN is there. And adding Ray [Luzier] as the drummer — he loves playing drums and he plays just like David did. We're excited that we found someone that fits that mold. So I think we got the three that's the core of what KORN is."

There's no release date yet for the next EP.

KORN is without a record deal since finishing out its two-album contract with EMI Music in 2007.

Davis is also working on his debut solo album and recently signed a solo deal with the Warner Music Group.

Former axeman Brian Welch recently denied comments made in an interview by James Shaffer, who said that Welch had asked to come back into the group. Welch claimed that KORN's managers had been contacting his manager about getting him back into KORN. Welch said he has a "different calling in life."

Ex-drummer David Silveria reportedly sold all his musical gear and operates two restaurants in Southern California.

MOB RULES: New Song Posted Online - Sep. 28, 2009
German metallers MOB RULES will release a new EP, "Astral Hand", on October 9.

The track listing is as follows:

01. Astral Hand
02. Astral Hand (Radio Edit) *
03. Astral Hand (Instrumental) *
04. Man On The Run *#
05. Hold On 2009 (Unplugged Version) *

* exclusive bonus tracks which will not appear on the band's new album, "Radical Peace"
# unreleased track from the "Among The Gods" session.

The edited version of the "Astral Hand" song is now available for streaming on the band's MySpace page.

MOB RULES will release its sixth album, "Radical Peace", on November 13 via AFM Records. The CD was recorded at Bazement Studio with longtime engineer Markus Teske (VANDEN PLAS, SPOCK'S BEARD, OASIS). A single, "Astral Hand", will precede the full-length CD on October 9.

According to a press release, "Radical Peace" "presents a multitude of stylistic variations and effective surprises in a musical direction that is clearly and consciously not watered-down by pseudo-modern frippery. [MOB RULES'] tight interaction between deep melodic vocals, two powerful guitars, atmospheric keyboard passages and a driving basic rhythm is rare among European bands. Beyond that, MOB RULES have established an excellent reputation based on their five previous albums, which the band themselves consider to be outside the typical hard 'n' heavy pigeonhole: with critical lyrics about environmental pollution, the politics of the Catholic Church in medieval times and the alarming political situation in the Middle East on their early albums, MOB RULES shine again with fascinating and witty stories."

The press release continues: "Alongside the first single, Astral Hand, which was inspired by the well-known Michelangelo fresco 'The Creation of Adam' in the Vatican and already had its baptism of fire at the Wacken Rocks Seaside festival, the Bloodstock Open Air in Derby, England, and the Ginetarock festival in Spain, there are a number of tracks which deserve a mention. Musically as well as in terms of its content (the song is about death camp doctor Josef Mengele and his appalling experiments on concentration camp children), the opener 'Children Of The Flames' with its anthemic chorus and doom-laden guitar outro nonchalantly ventures into the realms of Bruce Dickinson (IRON MAIDEN). The two subsequent tracks, 'Trial By Fire' and 'Warchild' prove how intelligently MOB RULES connect their stories with epic musical structures and contemporary guitar riffs.

"The focal point of the album is the 18-minute epic 'The Oswald File'. This number is about the assassination of John F. Kennedy and raises the question whether the alleged killer Harvey Lee Oswald (who was later shot himself) really was responsible for Kennedy's death. With this song, MOB RULES continue their concept of memorable political moments in world history, which they started on 'Ethnolution A.D.' (2006)."

"We all know that Kennedy played an important role in the reconstruction of Germany," guitarist Matthias Mineur says of the track. Vocalist Klaus Dirks adds: "At the moment, this topic has gained new relevance through the new U.S. president Barack Obama, who is celebrated as Kennedy's quasi-heir. And as luck would have it, Obama will be coming to Berlin on a state visit four days before the release of 'Radical Peace'." This automatically brings to mind Kennedy's legendary speech featuring the unforgettable words "Ich bin ein Berliner," which were used as the intro to "The Oswald File".

Not only thematically but also musically, "Radical Peace" is MOB RULES' most uncompromising release to date. The direction of the new album is unmistakable, sounding much tougher compared to their previous offerings without compromising the essential features of the typical MOB RULES sound. "Even as we were writing the songs, it was clear that the new material would be more dynamic and haunting than our other releases, a fact that we allowed for during the studio production," says Dirks.

MOB RULES filmed a video for the song "Astral Hand" on April 18 at Jahnhalle in Nordenham, Germany. Directing the clip was Ronald Mattes from ROAX Film, who also worked with the band on the "Black Rain" and "Last Farewell" videos.

"Radical Peace" track listing:

01. Children Of The Flames
02. Trial By Fire
03. Warchild
04. Astral Hand
05. The Oswald File (Ethnolution II - A Matter Of Unnecessary Doubt)
06. Waiting For The Sun
07. The Glance Of Fame
