NONPOINT Returns With Acoustic EP, Begins Recording New Album - Nov. 5, 2009
One of the most notable bands to break out of the Southern Florida music scene in the late Nineties, NONPOINT will release an acoustic digital EP, "Cut The Chord", on December 8 via their own 954 Records in partnership with Rocket Science Ventures / RED / Sony. The five-song effort features acoustic renditions of NONPOINT classics "What A Day", "Circles", "Rabia", "Victim" and "Your Signs".

Formed in 1998, the hard rock quartet from Ft. Lauderdale burst on the scene with its major label debut, "Statement", on MCA Records. Since then, they have sold nearly 700,000 albums and played over 1,000 shows. Known for its dynamic performances, NONPOINT has shared the stage with such acts as MUDVAYNE, SEVENDUST, DISTURBED, HELLYEAH, DROWNING POOL and PAPA ROACH, and has taken part in Ozzfest.

In continuation of a successful 10-plus-year career, NONPOINT is back with a new guitarist, management and record label. The band has entered Belle City Sound in Racine, Wisconsin to work on their full-length album with YEP! Productions' Chad Gray and Greg Tribbett (also members of MUDVAYNE and HELLYEAH) at the helm producing. The CD is slated for a spring 2010 release.

To close out the momentous year, NONPOINT will perform live in Madison, Ft. Lauderdale and Tempe (see dates below) and in celebration of the holidays, 500 digital downloads will be given to the first 500 ticket purchasers at each show.

See NONPOINT live in December:

Dec. 12 - Madison, WI @ The Barrymore Theater (WJJO Xmas show)
Dec. 26 - Ft Lauderdale, FL @ Club Revolution
Dec. 31 - Tempe, AZ @ Tempe Fiesta Bowl Block Party (KUPD NYE Show)

NONPOINT's fifth studio album, "Vengeance", was released in November 2007. The CD was recorded at Bieler Bros. Studios in Pompano Beach, Florida with producer Matt LaPlant (SIKTH).

"Vengeance" was the follow-up to the acclaimed "To The Pain" CD, which featured the breakout single "Bullet With A Name".

NONPOINT teamed up with MUDVAYNE and IN THIS MOMENT for a U.S. tour in February/March.

Good to hear, as I do like Nonpoint. I remember nothing from their last album, Vengeance, though.

A few years ago I saw Silent Civilian on Tour with NonPoint and They wouldn't let SC sell their merch because NP's shirts were like $25 dollars & SC shirts were $10... SC was Faster, Heavier, and Better live. They were selling more merch than NP and, NP Said unless they raised the prices on their merch they couldn't sell it. Needless to say after a couple of days of this apparently Santos & the guitar player had words that escalated into a fight that Santos was touring and still playing guitar with a broken hand from the fight! SANTOS BEAT YOUR ASS! Pussy ass Nonpoint sucks donkey cock. RAP/ROCK is lame. Go drown yourselves in the gulf coast losers.

Nonpoint are mediocre at best. They never were anything amazing, I've seen them live before. Surprised they're still around.

DigBick! Thanks for bringing that to light... makes me not like Nonpoint even more. Silent Civilian were actually pretty good live when I saw them in 2006.

...but everything I've heard since "To The Pain" hasn't grabbed me, and neither has that new song with the new guitarist...here's hoping that they win me back as a fan with their new album.

Liked their style a bit. Spanish tinged rap/Metal with good bottom them..Not great, but acceptable for what they were doing. Hope they come back better as the last disc did nothing and I wasn't the slight bit interested in getting it. Dumb cartoon cover didnt help as well. I will try them again if its fresh.

CJL - Everything since ...to the pain? theres only been 1 disc since. Damn man, 'back in the day' was 2005??!! scary thought. (Im just fuckin with ya so dont get all ghetto on me)....

WILL BE THERE IN MADTOWN. Vengeance wasn't amazing, but To The Pain and Statement will always rank highly with me. Simple yet catchy music.

I'd love to know where you got your information on this supposed fight between Johnny Santos and Andy the old guitar player of Nonpoint. This is 100% false, and this NEVER happened, as anyone who was around that tour would know.

Also, I have it on pretty good knowledge that the most Nonpoint has ever sold its t-shirts for would be 20 bucks..which is pretty normal for a band who makes their entire living selling t-shirts.

So again, Mr. "I know the inside scoop"..where did you get this information.

P.S..Santos didn't even have a broken hand on that tour, fight or not.

Go listen to last 4 albums from the band and explain to where in the world this rap-rock reference comes from?

It's people like you, you know, basement dwelling in your parents house at the age of 25 and couldn't even begin to fathom what having sex not involving your right hand feels like, and making up insane tall tales to impress your fellow internet "friends" that give "metal heads" a bad rap.

I was gonna say, the rap element has not been around for a long time...this is a band that constantly delivers good records, and it's a rarity in the music world....records you actually can listen to ALL THE WAY THROUGH. No filler here.

They present an awesome live show, time and time again, they are one of the hardest working bands out there. I'm proud to call myself a fan.

And yeah dude, whoever came up with that Silent Civilian story is an idiot, that tour came through to the Pearl Room outside Chicago (R.I.P.) and the SC booth was next to Nonpoints', we were all hanging out and drinking beer and doing shots and shit, all a bunch of friends. No way was there any hostility on that tour.

Nonpoint rules, then, now and quite possibly, forever.

"Mister i've got the inside scoop" LOL... Why would I lie about something like that!? This thread benefit's me in so many ways(sarcasm). If I'm wrong about there not being any fight between SC and NP then tell me why SC left that Tour? And R U saying Santos was faking having a broken/fractured hand? I'm not getting into a bicker battle with an obvious member of NonPoint on BM. I know what I heard when I went to check out SC at a gig after they left the tour, asking why they didn't play a couple of days b4 w/ NP like in the paper?... That was the source. Onstage the band was like Fuck nonpoint and dedicated "Dead to Me" to them. Now ya know NonPoint member. Nonpoint apparently claiming to be Metal gives Metal a bad rap... NP is not Metal.

PS.... I'm Left handed.

I'm not a member of Nonpoint however I was around the tour in a different capacity..so strike 1 on that one. Good try though.

Second, I asked where you heard about this "fight"..and you have no answer, only asking me why then were they kicked off the tour, and claiming your source was being at a show they did after the fact (Im sure you and the other 15 people had a grand time)

They were kicked off of that tour for a certain member (take a guess) constantly being un-professional, on stage and off. Now, it would be unprofessional for me to go into every single reason, but I can assure you, there was never any fight between any members of any bands on that tour (besides an inner fist fight between members of silent civilian). And before they were off the tour, they sold their merch every night.

To go further, show me where Nonpoint has ever claimed to be a metal band?

You are right about one thing however, bickering on the internet is fucking stupid.

However so is going to news about a band, and posting bullshit about a tall tale that you claim happened 3 years ago.

I have no role with nonpoint, however because of my time around that tour, I do have a good deal of respect for them, and its pretty lame to see people posting bullshit about them that is made up. My experience with them was great, and I would do it again in a heartbeat. I highly doubt it means a damn thing to them, but seeing another little internet sheep like the guy below you instantly believe you, an anoymous internet poster, that shows the entire problem of the situation.

you dont have to like a band, but come on dude, posting shit that makes them look like assholes when you don't have a clue, thats pretty lame.

You can reply with whatever you want, because I won't be returning to this..so have it.
