GLENN HUGHES Working On 'Bootilicious And Soul-Saturated' New Material - Dec. 3, 2008
Legendary vocalist/bassist Glenn Hughes (DEEP PURPLE, BLACK SABBATH) has been writing material for a new solo album, tentatively due in the spring of 2010. According to Glenn, his latest solo CD, "First Underground Nuclear Kitchen (F.U.N.K.)", is "a benchmark achievement... I have raised the bar. I will be writing all next year... compiling all my new songs. Have four or five that are cookin' at the moment... it'll be bootilicious and soul-saturated."

"First Underground Nuclear Kitchen (F.U.N.K.)", received its official North American release on October 7 via Blistering Records through Ryko/Warner distribution. The CD came out in Europe in May via Frontiers Records.

Produced by Glenn in Los Angeles, after countless hours spent writing in his home studio, "F.U.N.K." is another magnificent statement from the "Voice of Rock." "It is a roots album, it is a true account of my musical heritage but also fearless and multi-dimensional," said Hughes. Once again all drums on the record were played by none other than the great Chad Smith of the RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS, while Luis Maldonado took care of the majority of the guitars (JJ Marsh and George Nastos only appear on two songs each) and Anders Olinder is on keyboards (with Ed Roth guesting on three songs).

Glenn Hughes has announced his first U.S. show of 2009:

Saturday, March 28, 2009
B.B. King's Blues Club & Grill
237 West 42nd Street
New York, NY 10036

Glenn Hughes live in Norway (2008)

loved his work on 7th Star, but a man in his 50's (i assume, or he could be older) should not be using the word "boottilicious."

but that's just me.

Great singer and his last few albums have been great. and why the fuck cant a man in his 50's use a word like bootilicious?

you have to think about that when you are in your 50's? of course you try to swear less because kids and grankids.

and he's a musican living in LA i think too so he's not your typical family guy who works from 9-5 and have to look like the guy next door or something like that.

Bootlillicious? In the words of Booker T, "tell me he did not just say that".
