QUEEN Guitarist Dismisses Split Rumors - Dec. 3, 2008
QUEEN guitarist Brian May has dismissed rumors of a split with singer Paul Rodgers, insisting that the group is simply taking a break.

Austrian web site Österreich / oe24.at reported yesterday (Tuesday, December 2) that QUEEN + PAUL RODGERS' concert in Rio de Janeiro last Saturday (November 29) was to be the group's last.

Guitarist Brian May has commented on the rumor at his official web site: "Well, I don't know where anyone got that idea — Roger [Taylor, drums] and Paul and myself haven't made any decisions whatsoever about the future. We just need a rest!"

The new QUEEN + PAUL RODGERS album, "The Cosmos Rocks", sold around 12,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release to debut at position No. 47 on The Billboard 200 chart.

"The Cosmos Rocks" arrived at No. 4 on the European Top 100 Albums chart back in September. It delivered a No. 5 U.K. debut on sales of 28,000.

Yeah so, they put out an album about a month ago and decided they want to take a break; sure that makes sense...IT'S OVER!

This whole Queen thing drives me nuts...at first I thought it was the 3 surviving members of Queen but theres actually no John Deacon in the band. So, how does this equal Queen...I understand the +Paul Rogers, there he is...but it's just not queen.

Hang it up guys, or start a new band.

With 2 members of Queen not there (obviously), it's not Queen. Call this something else please.

those sellfigures helped alot to take the decision of a break. Seriously, Queen without Freddie is no good.

"it ain't guns n roses, it's the axl rose band"
"it ain't AIC w/out Layne"
"it ain't queen w/out Freddy"
"it ain't the doors w/out Jim.

Shut the f _ _ _ up about these sorry excuses.
Treat the music for what it is...if it's great than love it,
hate it, if it sucks,

just don't put a damper on musicians that are loving to play songs that they wrote.

Queen and Paul Rodgers was a great show I saw three years ago. I was excited for the new album. However, it sucks, in my opinion. Take Freddy out of the equation...it still sucks.

I am usually all for bands carrying on when a member passes away or leaves. Lots of bands have done well. But Queen is nothing without Mercury who is without a doubt one of the top 5 vocalists/frontman in the history of music.

People are no fools. Sales are just ridiculous, and I´m being benevolent.

please, call it another name & stand behind the MUSIC, don't drag the name Queen throw the mud, this isn't queen! Its like these guys in Boston or the best, Thin Lizzy, NO original members, the later guitarist & other musicians somehow are allowed to call it Thin Lizzy. Its absurd. its a slap in the face. Why don't I buy the name to a band & go tour with it. I think Queen calling it Queen is nearly on par with that, its not Queen with out Darling John Deacon!

Who cares about fucking album sales?? As long as they have fun with playing their shows they will carry on! I saw them in September and they were great! All you fuckers who have a problem with them carrying on should just get lost... nobody needs you... there are thousands and thousands of people enjoying their shows! Besides, who's FreddY?? It's Freddie, Idiots!
