WSLS 10 reports that additional details were released in the disappearance of Morgan Dana Harrington, the missing 20-year-old junior from Virginia Tech who was last seen at METALLICA's October 17, 2009 concert at the John Paul Jones Arena in Charlottesville, Virginia.

Interviews with various arena staff and other people in the vicinity of the arena that night have placed a young woman matching Harrington's description outside the facility from approximately 8:30 p.m. to approximately 9:30 p.m.:

8:20 – 8:30 p.m.* - Harrington is outside the arena near the main entrance and is attempting to re-enter the arena, but is told that arena policy requires her to have a ticket stub to do so.

8:30 – 8:48 p.m.* - Witnesses recall seeing a woman fitting Harrington's description outside the arena at various locations.

8:48 p.m.* - Harrington talks to her friends by cell phone.

8:48 – 9:00 p.m.* – Additional sightings of her outside the arena are reported.

9:00 - 9:10 p.m.* - Harrington is seen walking through the University Hall parking lot towards Lannigan Field.

9:10 – 9:20 p.m.* - Individuals report seeing Harrington walking in the grassy, overflow parking lot at Lannigan Field. The lot is often used for RV parking.

9:20 – 9:30 p.m. - She is seen walking on the Copeley Road railroad bridge, between Ivy Road and the track at Lannigan Field. Investigators are asking for anyone who might have seen a young woman fitting Harrington's description getting into a vehicle around this time or later to contact police. Also, anyone who might recall seeing a vehicle randomly stopped in the roadway on Copeley Road that night is asked to notify police. Copeley Road is about two blocks away from the John Paul Jones arena.

Police are asking anyone with information call the tip line at 434-352-3467.

EARTH CRISIS Frontman Talks Straight Edge - Oct. 28, 2009
Hart Seely of Syracuse.com recently conducted an interview with Karl Buechner, lead singer for seminal straight edge band EARTH CRISIS. A couple of excerpts from the chat follow below.

Syracuse.com: What turned you on to straight edge?

Karl: I was involved with sports and music. I saw kids from an early age, whom I grew up skateboarding with, get into drugs and alcohol. They started skating less and being less enthusiastic about the things they had been passionate about. It was terrifying to watch people I cared about become drug addicts or alcoholics. ... In essence, I was scared straight.

Syracuse.com: People have called EARTH CRISIS the most famous band from Syracuse that Syracuse doesn't know about. You buy that?

Karl: Well, we've got a lot of loyal fans here. We've played a show at the Lost Horizon this summer. It was incredible. People flew in from different parts of the country to support it. ... It was a really powerful experience for us.

Syracuse.com: This year, straight edge turns 28. Getting old?

Karl: It's incredible for us to see how much it's grown. So far this year, Earth Crisis has toured the states, Canada, 12 countries in Europe, three countries in South America, and we're on our way to Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand and Japan in January. It's worldwide. And I think, unfortunately, there are more people out there whose lives have been adversely affected by substance addictions, and they are gravitating to straight edge.

Syracuse.com: How did Syracuse affect the movement?

Karl: What happened here defined it for the future.

Syracuse.com: What do you mean?

Karl: When it came to the aggression of the music, and the seriousness of the way that things were taken — a lot of that came right from here.

Syracuse.com: Did people locally understand what was going on?

Karl: No. In fact, we didn't know it could have the influence outside of here that it has had.

Syracuse.com: Did they oppose you?

Karl: Well, we weren't necessarily welcomed into clubs, that's for sure. I mean, the clubs would rather have a metal band, which was going to draw a crowd that's going to drink. They'd make more money. So we were definitely not welcomed in, and we were not welcomed by any major labels, either. I mean, straight edge is still essentially a grassroots movement. Yet we're out there, touring the world. I feel as though we've been locked out, in some ways, but you know what? That's fine. We'll do it ourselves. We always have.

The servant did this by telling the general that he should remember that he was mortal, i.e. 'Memento mori."

SLIPKNOT Percussionist CHRIS FEHN Interviewed On 'The Big Dumb Radio Show' - Oct. 28, 2009
On October 27, 2009, Kevin "Taz" Conklin of "The Big Dumb Radio Show" (web site) — which airs on Kalamazoo, Michigan's 92.5 WZUU FM radio station — conducted an interview with SLIPKNOT percussionist Chris Fehn. The chat is now available for streaming below.

Fehn, who is best described as the band member who wears a leather bondage hood with a 7 1/2-inch nose, immediately bringing to mind the Pinnochio puppet character, told the San Bernardino County Sun that his bandmates presented him with his mask when he joined the band in 1998.

"It wasn't about who it was, it was more about making [the fans] pay attention to the music, because there were a lot of heavy hitters in the Des Moines area," Fehn said. The band soon learned, however, that its stage presence became a signature part of its act. "It was a really big part of the draw and the mystique, and it continues to grow to this day," Fehn said.

The band's fourth studio album, "All Hope is Gone", debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 album chart upon its release in August 2008.

"It was a big step for us," Fehn said of the band's most successful album to date. "It debuted at No. 1, and that was huge for us, and that was the last hurdle in that trophy kind of world that we can hang our hats on."

SLIPKNOT fans can expect the same kind of energy, honesty and dedication to go into the next album, Fehn said. "We're not up there just for a paycheck. We love the songs that we play — that's the main thing, first of all," Fehn said. "And the intensity is easy to come by because the fans are so intense, and it's that exchange between the fans and the band that keeps things going throughout the night."

METALLICA Bassist Interviewed On Québec City's 'Démentièllement Vôtre'; Audio Available - Oct. 28, 2009
A new audio interview with METALLICA bassist Robert Trujillo, conducted on September 19, 2009 by "Démentièllement Vôtre" on Québec City's CKRL 89.1 FM, has been posted online at this location. It can also be streamed using the audio player below.

"Démentièllement Vôtre" is a metal radio show on the oldest independant Francophone radio station in North America. The program has been airing since 2003 and can be heard every Friday night from midnight to 6:00 a.m.

METALLICA has launched an iPhone application that "creates a streaming interface to your LiveMetallica account," meaning that any live show fans have downloaded from the site will automatically stream to their iPhones once they launch the app, which costs 99 cents. Fans just have to purchase the app at the iPhone store and log onto their account at LiveMetallica.com to access every gig they've downloaded, as well as a free stream of the band's latest concert. More developments and features are also on the way.

METALLICA has added single-song downloads to the LiveMetallica.com web site. Instead of buying only entire concerts, fans can pick whatever individual songs they want from any concert they choose from. Every song that the band has recorded in concert since 2004, covering a span of 269 shows, is available for 99 cents per MP3. Full shows are still $9.95 as MP3 files and $12.95 as higher-quality FLAC files.

Frontman James Hetfield told The Pulse of Radio about deciding to release individual songs, "Yeah, I think the song-per-song vs. album is kind of a long lost battle, I think. You know, people in the fast-food world we live in want what they want, and want it now, and when they're done with it, they're done with it. So yeah, it's about time, and I think it's the right move."

LiveMetallica.com was launched in March 2004 and makes downloads available for purchase of every show the band has played since then, often within hours of the gig's finale.

More than 300,000 downloads have been purchased at the site since its launch.

The "Vault" section of the site offers free downloads of shows recorded before 2004.

More shows will crop up at the site in upcoming weeks, since METALLICA just launched a new North American tour last month. The band has dates booked through mid-December.

PETER CRISS Discusses Battle With Breast Cancer On 'Fox & Friends'; Video Available - Oct. 28, 2009
Former KISS drummer Peter Criss was a guest on this morning's (Wednesday, October 28) edition of the "Fox & Friends" show on the Fox News Channel to talk about the stigma of being a man battling breast cancer. Watch video of his appearance below.

While some men feel embarrassed because of "this macho crap," Criss told CNN surviving breast cancer was actually a blessing. He was treated before the tumor could spread and said he's speaking about male breast cancer now — during National Breast Cancer Awareness month — to raise the profile of this rare disease.

Criss, who played drums for KISS and was known as "Catman," offered this advice to men who spot lumps in their breast: "Don't sit around playing Mr. Tough Guy. Don't say 'It's going to go away.' It might not and you might not see life anymore and how beautiful that is."

Criss, who is currently working on an autobiography as well as a new rock album, told Reuters his bout with cancer had affected his songwriting.

"My lyrics are not so deep and dismal," he said. One of the tracks on the album, expected next spring, is called "Hard Rock Knockers".

Regarding the fact that his old KISS bandmates, Paul Stanley and Gene Simmons, are currently on a North American tour of arenas with two new band members, one in the make-up of Criss' "Catman" character and the other as ex-guitarist Ace Frehley's "Spaceman," Peter told Reuters, "You want to put two clones up there in our makeup, that's great. Must I keep putting spandex and makeup on at 70 — I don't think I really want to do that."

ROB ZOMBIE Signs With LOUD & PROUD/ROADRUNNER RECORDS - Oct. 28, 2009
In a sudden and unexpected move, multi-platinum hard rock artist Rob Zombie has inked has a new worldwide deal with leading rock label Roadrunner Records through its Loud & Proud imprint.

This shocking announcement comes as Zombie exits his former label and of eighteen years, where he sold fifteen million records as a solo artist and with his former band WHITE ZOMBIE. Zombie's new album, "Hellbilly Deluxe 2", previously set for release on 11/17 will now be released by Roadrunner/Loud & Proud Records in early 2010.

"It certainly wasn't an easy decision to make after all this time, but it had to be done," states Zombie. "I love this new record and wanted to surround myself with an excited new group of people who can reignite my enthusiasm for working within a hard rock record label. Roadrunner seems to be the perfect place."

"Roadrunner is thrilled to be involved with Rob Zombie on a worldwide basis as he is a multiple-threat artist whom we've admired for many years," said Roadrunner president Jonas Nachsin.

Tom Lipsky, founder and president of Loud & Proud echoed Nachsin's sentiment, "Rob Zombie hits hard on 'Hellbilly Deluxe 2' and the fans expect nothing less. We are excited about the monster mayhem that he is certain to create!"

The first single from the new album, "What?", recently launched at all rock radio formats and is quickly climbing the charts. This latest album marks the follow-up to 1998's triple platinum "Hellbilly Deluxe".

The track listing is as follows:

01. Jesus Frankenstein
02. Sick Bubblegum
03. What?
04. Mars Needs Women
05. Werewolf, Baby!
06. Virgin Witch
07. Death and Destiny Inside The Dream Factory
08. Burn
09. Cease to Exist
10. Werewolf Women of the SS
11. The Man Who Laughs

Zombie hinted in an online post that his new CD could be his last, saying, "Well, pretty soon the CD will be dead. All you will have left is digital downloads. So before we say goodbye to the almighty CD, I thought I would give it a big send-off. I love being able to get great artists involved on my CD artwork and this time is the best yet. Since this may be the last true CD I make, I thought I would gather three of the top artists around to contribute some killer new Zombie art for the booklet."

The artists contributing work to the CD's booklet are Nocturnals comic book creator Dan Brereton, animation and storyboard artist David Hartman and Italian artist Alex Horley, who has worked for Image Comics and DC Comics.

Rob Zombie will kick off his upcoming North American tour on October 29 in Phoenix, Arizona, according to a press release. he will hit the road with the same band that toured behind his 2006 CD, "Educated Horses", consisting of guitarist John 5, bassist Piggy D. and drummer Tommy Clufetos. Although Zombie is also busy these days directing movies, he told The Pulse of Radio he can always count on his current bandmates to return. "Whenever I'm making a movie they go off and do whatever they want, but they're all part of this band," he said. "We just did all of our photos for the tour and stuff. It's the same band, it's just that I know those guys get itchy to play."

Support on the tour will come from NEKROMANTIX and CAPTAIN CLEGG & THE NIGHT CREATURES. The latter band appeared in Zombie's latest film, "Halloween II".

The trek will include a very special Halloween event on October 31 in Hollywood, California hosted by Uncle Seymour Coffins, also seen in "Halloween II".

The "Hellbilly Deluxe 2" tour will mark Zombie's return to the road after moderate box office success as the writer and director of "Halloween II" (Dimension). His R-rated, animated feature, "The Haunted World Of El Superbeasto", was made available everywhere on DVD and Blu-ray September 22.

"Halloween II", the follow-up to Zombie's successful 2007 remake of the original 1978 horror classic, came in at No. 3 in its opening weekend, earning $17 million at the box office. That's far less than the $31 million his first "Halloween" flick did two years ago.

Zombie's next film will be a remake of "The Blob", which he is slated to begin shooting in the spring of 2010.

PAPA ROACH: New Video Interview Posted Online - Oct. 28, 2009
Berlin, Germany's PitCam Production and More-Metal.com conducted an interview with California rockers PAPA ROACH when the band played Huxley's Neue Welt Berlin in Berlin on October 3, 2009. Watch the chat below.

PAPA ROACH and JET will team up for a co-headlining tour of the U.S. The affordable and eclectic rock show with a festival feel starts off in late October through the end of November and offers four bands for less than forty dollars.

PAPA ROACH followed up its chart-topping single "Lifeline" with another song from its recent "Metamorphosis" album called "I Almost Told You That I Loved You". The group released a music video for the track and vocalist Jacoby Shaddix told The Pulse of Radio the story behind the song. "That song was born from a conversation that me and this fella Matt Zane — he's a musician but he also directs pornography films — and he was telling me about this girl. He was trying out the talent before he put her on camera, and he was like, 'Oh, Jacoby, man, the pussy was so good I almost told her that I loved her.' Me and Jay Baumgardner, the producer, looked at each other and we were like, 'Now that's a song title right there!'"

"Lifeline" was PAPA ROACH's second No. 1 hit, following its 2000 breakthrough single, "Last Resort".

"Metamorphosis", the band's fifth major label release, came out in March. The CD has sold around 170,000 copies in the United States, according to Nielsen SoundScan.

KISS Members Visit Wounded Warriors - Oct. 28, 2009
According to WJBF-TV, some of Augusta's Wounded Warriors got to go see KISS in Atlanta Monday night (October 26), but for those who couldn't, KISS came to see them.

On Wednesday, some of the band members stopped by the uptown Augusta V.A. Medical Center, on Wrightsboro Road.

Paul Stanley, Eric Singer, and Tommy Thayer (Gene Simmons had a prior engagement) took photos, signed autographs, and just said "thank you" to veterans who were injured overseas. It was a big day for those veterans, but Stanley said it was also a big day for the band.

"We're honored to be here with you people," he said, addressing the large crowd assembled in the rehabilitation room. "We're here for you. God bless you all."

According to the Augusta Chronicle, Stanley said it was important to KISS, as a band, that the service men and women who are injured in the line of duty receive the respect and attention they deserve. Success, for the highly successful band, means ensuring that happens.

"People talk about the ultimate sacrifice," he said. "But isn't it a sacrifice to come back home and discover you no longer have your life? We want everyone home safely and to urge everyone to give these people the respect they deserve."

Stephen Ogles attended the event with his face painted with Gene Simmons' distinctive design. Stanley joked that he could be in the band, but he's a little too young. The wheelchair-bound Ogles said staff at the VA helped him prepare to meet KISS.

"I've been a fan of the boys for a lot of years," he said quietly. "I like that they came down."

Leonel Orozco left the event sporting a Paul Stanley-signed eye patch. He admitted that he had not grown up listening to KISS, but now considers himself a member of the KISS army.

"I really wasn't a fan at all," he said with a laugh. "I think I knew one song. But that concert made a fan out of me. They treat their fans really well and they are, I think, our biggest fans."

After meeting fans, signing autographs and taking pictures, the band took a short tour of hospital units, including its innovative kayak rehab center. Stanley said that as well as bringing a little joy to the patients, he hopes the KISS visit might bring attention to the Charlie Norwood VA Medial Center as well.

"You have this amazing facility here and it's almost a secret," he said. "It shouldn't be a secret. It should be a model, the template for facilities like this."

Bloom will talk with host JT about the history of the ELECTRIC BOYS, their rise to fame and subsequent decline, and the 2009 reformation of the classic funk metal band and their plans for the coming year.

"Hard Rock Nights" can be heard on several rock and metal stations.

For a complete list of affiliates, go to this location.

The reunited original ELECTRIC BOYS lineup — Franco Santunione (guitar), Andy Christell (bass), Niklas Sigevall (drums) and Conny Bloom (guitar, vocals) — was the featured musical guest on the May 28 episode of the "Nyhetsmorgon" program on Sweden's TV4. The band performed two songs and took part in an interview. Watch footage of their appearance below.

ELECTRIC BOYS recently inked a deal with Spinefarm Records. A 20-track "best-of" collection, titled "Now Dig This!", was released on May 25. It features songs from the band's three studio albums, including "Psychedelic Eyes", "Mary In The Mystery World", "Groovus Maximus", "The Groover", "Rags To Riches", "Captain Of My Soul" plus a 2009 remix of "All Lips N' Hips", along of course with the original version, a longstanding staple of rock clubs around the world.

Formed in 1988, ELECTRIC BOYS achieved recognition around the known rock'n'roll world with signature hit single "All Lips N' Hips" plus a series of albums that tapped into the very essence of long-haired, leather-trousered, late-night cool.

Touring alongside bands such as THUNDER and MR. BIG, and drinking from the same well as rock legends like AEROSMITH, the band offered an alternative to the late '80s hair-metal scene, fusing hard rock and heavy funk to create an instantly recognizable style ("Groovus Maximus") built riff by riff on the sturdiest possible foundations, unswervingly provided by drummer Niklas Sigevall.

Lauded by the media, feted by the industry, respected by the top producers of the day (including Bob Rock) and supported by a genuinely international fanbase, the ELECTRIC BOYS — led into action by flamboyant frontman Conny Bloom, who has continued to play and record both under his own name and with SILVER GINGER 5 and HANOI ROCKS, as well as appearing in TV ads for Jameson Whiskey — consistently showed that the great rock'n'roll dream was available in many colours, and that the sitar did indeed have a serious part to play!

METALLICA guitarist Kirk Hammett has commented on the disappearance of Morgan Dana Harrington, the missing 20-year-old junior from Virginia Tech who was last seen at METALLICA's October 17, 2009 concert at the John Paul Jones Arena in Charlottesville, Virginia. Speaking to Alan Cross of ExploreMusic.com, Kirk said, "I can only tell you what everyone knows, really. She went to the show in Charlottesville, got separated from her friends, never really got reunited with them, and later on, they found her purse and cell phone, but not her person. So there's been a missing person report filed and there's been a reward put out by the family and we decided to contribute to that reward, 'cause we would like to see — as parents and just of our own good nature — we would like to see her found and reunited with her family. It's a very sad thing to hear about. We're just trying to do what we can to help her and help her family out. It's a pretty intense, screwed up thing that's happened, and I really hope that she's found and that she's OK."

KORN Guitarist Says Recording With Producer ROSS ROBINSON Again Is 'So Much Fun' - Oct. 28, 2009
On September 12, 2009, Altitude TV spoke with KORN guitarist James "Munky" Shaffer about the songwriting and recording process for the band's next album. Watch the four-minute clip below.

On how the songwriting/recording process is coming along:

"Right now we are in the studio making another record. We are doing it with Ross Robinson; he's producing it. It's so much fun to be recording with him again, 'cause he has such a passion for what we did on the first two albums. That, for him and us, that kick-started our careers; for him as well. And he just keeps putting out platinum albums.

"We didn't drift apart, but we wanted to try other producers, we wanted to kind of experiment, but it just feels like we've been on a long journey and we've come home again."

"The whole record's all organic — it's all guitars, bass, drums and Jonathan's [Davis, vocals] raw emotion, and it's just... man. Some of the stuff that Ross is pulling out of Jonathan, it's just like, 'Wow!' You can feel the energy, the pain, whatever it might be he's singing about that day. It's cool 'cause we're in a room no bigger than this, and we're jamming. It's like a one-car garage and it's covered in carpet; it's a 15-year-old's bedroom or something. And you can hear it in the songs when you play it back. And we're going all analog to tape. It's cool."

On KORN's current label situation:

"We don't have a record label. [Laughs] We're unsigned. It's kind of cool because there's so many options. I don't know at this point. I don't know if we wanna sign with a record label. The good thing about signing with a record label is that they have money to put into promotion and tell people about it. There's talk about us releasing it three songs at a time in a period of over three months. And then there's talk about us releasing it on only a USB key — you know that little chip that goes in your computer. And maybe we'll do all three. But we're thinking about a February release."

On working with the band's newest addition, former ARMY OF ANYONE/DAVID LEE ROTH drummer Ray Luzier:

"When I come up with a riff, or Fieldy [bassist Reginald Arvizu] comes up with a riff, [we'll be like], 'It's OK.' And then Ross will say, 'Keep playing it. Try to develop it more.' And then when Ray steps in and puts his beats down, it could be the crappiest riff ever, but he starts playing to it, and it's like, 'Bam!' It turns it up on ten."

Regarding the new KORN album's lyrical concept — which singer Jonathan Davis previously identified as the five symbols he feels will be the downfall of man: drugs, religion, power, money and time — the frontman recently told AOL's Noisecreep, "It's turning into something else. I was going for that, and I was writing lyrics and stuff around that vibe. And other stuff started coming out, and I can't control what's coming out on my inside. So, the music's ... it always changes. I can start out with a plan, but it's just turning into different stuff. We've got 13 or 14 songs, and the guys are taking turns doing bass and guitars. The drums are all recorded. It's our most diverse record, and I think it's going to make all of our fans happy, and they'll all be very surprised."

PRONG Mainman On Next Studio Album - Oct. 28, 2009
Jerel Johnson of Target Audience magazine recently conducted an interview with PRONG mainman Tommy Victor. A few excerpts from the chat follow below.

Target Audience: In terms of the response of "Power of the Damager" as well as "Power of the Damn Mixxxer", and, of course, the recent tours that you guys have done over the past couple of years, would you say that you've had a greater response over here Stateside or over in Europe?

Tommy Victor: It's hard to say, man. I really don't know; it depends what time of year you go. I'm really not up on what's written online. All I can tell you is that there is room for improvement in the whole of people and awareness in the group. There is room for improvement when records are released. The whole thing needs to be sort of revamped, in a way. In other words, there are certain things I can't do and certain things I can so… I occasionally go on MySpace; I give feedback to some people, but for the most part I'm too concerned with other things in my life.

Target Audience: I know that PRONG was one of those bands in the early '90s that was really kind of ahead of their time in terms of the groove metal and, in some cases, industrial metal, and you guys had a peak of popularity in 1994, but due to certain circumstances and factors your group had the split. Do you feel, now, 15 years later with how the music industry has changed that PRONG may have an ability or chance to reach the success that they achieved in the mid-'90s?

Tommy Victor: No. There is no way. There would have to be a miracle, and I don't believe in miracles anymore. So it's completely different. We were on a major label back then, there was the ability to do more things… that's a good question because based on what I was just saying, maybe I'm just in that frame of mind where you can't do it. When you're on a major label you're spending their money or eventual money and fly in to do shows or this, that or the other thing. It was a widespread campaign in order to support you or promote you and then now it's fighting all those other baby bands now… record sales are completely miniscule.

Target Audience: So for, I guess, a metal band now you would say it would be harder to achieve a wider audience as opposed to 15, 20, 25 years ago due really to the major label support?

Tommy Victor: It depends, it all depends. There are bands that can get on the radio easier and that definitely helps once you get that exposure and everyone knows who you are because of one song. And the fans, ya know… what PRONG had to do initially for four years… just constantly touring in a van even though we were on Epic and it didn't seem like there was anything at the end of the tunnel, we just kept trudging along. Even back then on a major label we were playing in front of 40 or 50 people and then suddenly you get a song on "Headbangers Ball" or "Beavis and Butthead" and everyone knows who you are. Ya know, you never know, but if weren't on Epic Records, I don't think that would've happened. At that time, they had a lot of power to manipulate or get people to play your stuff; they had a very big augment of people working a record. But in order for them to do that back in the day, you had to show that you were willing to suffer a bit, and whether they could take to you and where you're spending your future royalty money and then tour support which inevitably the band has to recoup that, ya know?

Target Audience: I heard that you guys are finishing up on the next album that should be released in early 2010. Is there a tentative release date for the new PRONG record?

Tommy Victor: No. It's been pushed back for a numerous amount of reasons. So I can't really dial that in yet one time we were scheduled the record was supposed to be out now and due to scheduling it's impossible. Due to limitations and boundaries that I discussed earlier in the interview based on that.

Target Audience: Are the songs completed or there are still some tracks that still…

Tommy Victor: No (laughs) At one time I thought we were really close and it's typical of the way I wind up working. It's like, "Yeah, we got the songs" and then a couple of months go by and I'm like, "No, we do not have the songs." So it's...it seems to be different pockets of material that songs are chosen from and finally somewhere down the line we have all the material together.

Target Audience: How are the songs coming out so far? Are they pretty much in the same vein as "Power" or are you expanding musically? How are they sounding so far?

Tommy Victor: Like I said, it's different batches. The earlier batch was not like "Power of the Damager" material. Just to be more general, it was more of a reach towards the "Rude Awakening" or KILLING JOKE-type material. Then I came up with a couple of, like, you know, brutal thrash ideas and then some other ideas for, uh, total riff rock — like not like modern. I think they sort of go back into the "Cleansing" era where it was based on GODFLESH or something and then I'll have too see…I've started attacking the riffs again and seem to be in that vein of BLACK SABBATH-oriented or more than we've done. I think it's gonna be cool eventually. It's just like getting the right ideas finding out where we're out going and like throwin' 'em all together and taking a look at it. It's all about songs. I mean, PRONG is a songwriting band, ya know? That's why it takes so long, because we just don't go in and have this formula of patterns and, ya know, or just record some really heavy stuff and scream all over it; I have to figure out a lyrical concept and a lyrical line and the lyrics. And I gotta do all that and then, of course, solos and there's a lot on me on the whole thing, unfortunately.

Former AFTER FOREVER Singer Seeking Musicians For REVAMP - Oct. 28, 2009
Former AFTER FOREVER vocalist Floor Jansen's new project called REVAMP is currently seeking a drummer, bassist, guitarist and keyboard player.

If you are interested in auditioning for the group, you must:

* Be a skilled player on your instrument in the metal style (as well fast and brutal as groovy and melodic)
* A man (sorry, girls)
* Experienced on stage with a band and able to do a convincing performance
* Have your own equipment and knowhow of your instrument
* Have your own transportation
* Available for tours
* Understand the music industry and the position of an upcoming band
* Dutch or live near the border of The Netherlands in either Belgium or Germany
* Available for rehearsals in December until April and for shows starting in May

If you fit the profile and are interested in taking part in an audition, send an e-mail to floor@revampmusic.com with:

* A short CV (who you are, where you’re from, age, musical history, personal story/motivation)
* A recording of yourself playing your instrument (both audio and video is ok, I prefer video though)
* Links to web sites, YouTube, pictures

Auditions are planned for the last week of November. You will be contacted regarding dates and location.

After the breakup of AFTER FOREVER, Jansen decided she wanted to start over and present a new band to the public as soon as possible. To accomplish this, she joined forces with two additional songwriters to first compose, then record an album. A live band is soon to be formed after the CD's completion, which will get her back on stage where she belongs.

The first composer to join this new collaboration was found when Waldemar Sorychta (GRIP INC., ENEMY OF THE SUN) contacted her to inquire about her current activities and potential future cooperation. Being a fan of GRIP INC., Floor was honored by the possibility of working with Waldemar. Sorychta's unique style, combined with his experience as songwriter/producer, made Jansen's dream come closer to reality.

The second composer was found in AFTER FOREVER colleague Joost van den Broek. Asking Joost to join seemed logical because of his great keyboards and arrangements, and therefore his potentially valuable contribution. Despite his busy schedule, he wanted to join and get started immediately. With him on board, the songwriting team was complete!

The REVAMP sound will become a unique blend of the personal style listeners will recognize from these musicians.

Songs are currently being written and audio samples will soon be posted on the band's web site.

REVAMP's debut album is tentatively due in May 2010.

Jansen performed with the RED LIMO STRING QUARTET on the Dutch TV program "Podium" on August 30. Video footage of her appearance can be viewed below.

DELAIN Guitarist Quits - Oct. 28, 2009
DELAIN — the Dutch gothic rock/metal project founded by ex-WITHIN TEMPTATION keyboardist Martijn Westerholt (brother of WITHIN TEMPTATION's Robert Westerholt) — has issued the following update:

"We are sad to announce that Ronald [Landa, guitar] has decided to part ways with DELAIN.

"Ronald has been of great value to the band. We would like to thank him for his everlasting devotion for DELAIN! We will never forget all the great moments we have shared together and wish him the very best for the future!

"Ronald will still play our shows in Zwolle and Birmingham and besides that there is a big chance he will appear on stage now and then at one of our future shows. We hope to be able to announce his successor very soon and keep you updated on that!"

Commented Ronald: "Being a part of DELAIN has always been a tremendous privilege and honor for me. It was so awesome to play live and record albums for you [the fans], guys. You have been so great to us, and to me, and I want to thank you so much for that. However, the time has come to step away from the band, and to pursue a different dream.

"My musical taste has always been very wide, and I wanted to play in a band that plays a different kind of music for a long time. I could never do this because being in a band like DELAIN requires you to put all of your time and effort into that band. But the desire to play music with different people in different genres doesn't let go. Therefore I decided to continue my role in DELAIN as a dedicated fan and friend.

"I will follow DELAIN very closely, and do everything I can to still be of value to the band. Besides that, I hope that you'll check out what I'm doing once in a while, and that you will like my new musical endeavours.

"I want to thank Charly, Martijn, Rob and Sander so much for the fun we had, the great moments we shared, the hard times we conquered, and the beautiful music we played. I also want to thank all our fans so very much! You guys make it worthwhile!

"Thank you for coming to so many shows, and for making me feel good! I love you all!"

DELAIN bassist Rob van der Loo will sit out the band's European tour with SONATA ARCTICA due to other personal commitments. He will be temporarily replaced by Roel Vink. Rob will still play the tour's Dutch dates.

For a list of shows, go to this location.

"Stay Forever", the new video from DELAIN, can be viewed below. The song comes off the band's second album, "April Rain", which entered the German Media Control chart at position No. 96. The CD was released in North America on June 30 via Sensory Records (with U.S. distribution through Ryko and Canadian distribution through Sonic Unyon). The North American version of the album features a bonus track — "Come Closer" — which was previously only available on the limited-edition digipack version of the LP.

"April Rain" benefits from the return of NIGHTWISH bassist/vocalist Marco Hietala who sings male vocals on two tracks, as well as world-renowned cellist Maria Ahn.

DELAIN has been confirmed as one of the headliners of the Femme Metal Festival, set to take place November 7-8, 2009 at The Asylum (Saturday) in Birmingham and The Peel (Sunday) in London, United Kingdom.
