BUSH To Release DVD And Live CD In November
- Sep. 26, 2005
Launch Radio Networks reports: The first DVD and live CD from BUSH will come out on November 1, titled "Zen X Four". The DVD will feature all of the British band's videos, while the CD will include more than 50 minutes of previously unreleased live and acoustic material. An acoustic version of the band's 1995 hit, "Comedown", will be sent as a single to radio stations in late October.
BUSH emerged in 1994 with "Sixteen Stone", which immediately yielded several hit singles, including "Everything Zen", "Little Things", "Glycerine" and "Comedown". The group released three more albums before going on hiatus in 2002.
BUSH frontman Gavin Rossdale is currently leading a new band called INSTITUTE and told Launch that working with BUSH again isn't on his mind at the moment. "I'm in a seriously good band right now, and that's all that I can think of right now," he said. "I mean, any kind of thoughts of BUSH is so about the future and about, you know, possibilities and maybe this and potentially that. We can twist ourselves stupid by worrying about the past or worrying about the future, when really all we have is now. What I have now is INSTITUTE, so that's my main thrust."
INSTITUTE's debut album, "Distort Yourself", entered the Billboard Top 200 last week at Number 81 with first-week sales of just over 12,000.
INSTITUTE played a series of club dates during the summer but has so far announced only one new show, on October 23 in Dallas, Texas. More are expected to be announced soon.

KISS To Continue Touring Without Any Original Members?
- Sep. 26, 2005
Launch Radio Networks reports: Is an all-new KISS on the horizon, one that doesn't have any original members? It's possible, according to the band's manager. According to the New York Times, KISS manager Doc McGhee "has been toying with the idea of recruiting an entire band to...don the band's famous makeup." McGhee said, "KISS is more like Doritos or Pepsi, as far as a brand name is concerned. They're more characters than the individual person. I think (new members) have a legitimate chance to carry the franchise."
KISS singer-bassist Gene Simmons doesn't necessarily disagree with that idea. He told Launch that the concept of original members isn't widely held by fans, and it isn't really accurate anyway. "There's no question that there's a core of fans — five-10 percent, my sense is — who believe in original members," he said. "And yet, when you look at original members, THE BEATLES are not original members — Ringo is not an original member; the STONES — barely. You know, they've had so many members come and go, but it's the STONES; and AC/DC's aren't original members; and VAN HALEN; and JOURNEY...you go down the list of every — almost every band you can think of."
Florida's WYKKED WYTCH have uploaded two demo tracks that are set to be included on the band's forthcoming album, tentatively titled "The Awakening". Check out the songs "The Awakening" and "Beneath Our Skin" at www.myspace.com/wykkedwytch.
The tracks were recorded last month at Redroom Recorders in Tampa, FL with engineer Mark Prator (MORBID ANGEL, DEICIDE, OBITUARY) and mastered by Jim Morris (DEATH, ICED EARTH) at Morrisound.
"We are currently shopping the material to interested labels and CD samplers of the new songs will be available on our tour with DEICIDE in Europe next month," the band write in a press release.
"Our current plans are to finish out the year supporting our current album 'Nefret', which was released last year on Demolition Records, and then go into the studio in early 2006 to record our fourth album."

In addition, the disc will feature three behind-the-scenes vignettes, focusing on the making of the band's newest record, "Through the Ashes of Empires", life on the road with MACHINE HEAD, and an up-close and personal look at the greatest horde of lunatics in the world — MACHINE HEAD fans. SHARON OSBOURNE Still Fighting Bulimia
- Sep. 26, 2005
Sharon Osbourne is still battling bulimia after 35 years with the eating disorder, she revealed on Monday.
Sharon, 52, told the Sun newspaper she gorges on pasta and ice cream before forcing herself to be sick.
The mother of three has had her stomach stapled and spent £300,000 (approximately $532,000) on cosmetic surgery but said even this had not cured her of the condition.
She still has impulsive eating binges and makes herself sick once a week, although this is down from a staggering four times a day.
She said: "Some people do drink and drugs but for me it's food, food, food. It's about having low self-esteem. It's not socially acceptable to be fat — people take the piss out of you."
The petite star, who is only 5 ft 2 in, said she weighed 16 stone 5 lbs (227 pounds) years ago.
She said: "I literally had to lift the rolls of fat off my belly to wash under it, that's how fat I was. How bad is that? Ozzy loved me as I was — but I didn't."
She has since lost half her body weight by having her stomach stapled and then had eight operations including a tummy tuck, boob job and facelift.
But she revealed the disorder which started when she was a teenager is still a part of her life.
She said: "I'm still bulimic. It's bad but I'm really trying to get better. I stuff myself with food like ice cream and pasta then rush to the loo and make myself sick."

Priest Satisfied With Australian Black Metal Fan's Three-Year Sentence
- Sep. 26, 2005
Australia's News.com.au has issued the following report:
A priest whose century-old church was burned to the ground by a drunken teenage heavy metal fan said today he was satisfied with the three-year sentence the arsonist received.
Reverend Ron Rosinsky said a "lingering sadness" remained in his Melbourne congregation following the loss of the St Albans Uniting Church in August last year.
The damage bill for the 109-year-old church has been put at more than $3 million, but Mr Rosinsky said his congregation was focused on forgiveness.
He said parishioners also wanted to play a role in the rehabilitation of 19-year-old Novak Majstorovic (photo), of St Albans, who was sentenced today in Victoria's County Court.
He admitted to one count each of burglary and arson, which carry maximum terms of 10 and 15 years imprisonment.
Judge Jeanette Morrish instead imposed the maximum penalty of three years in a youth correctional facility on the arson charge plus a concurrent six-month term for the burglary.
"I am satisfied," Mr Rosinsky said noting that Judge Morrish had not imposed a term in an adult prison.
"My personal opinion is that it is the best sentence, given the circumstances, as the chances of rehabilitation are close to non-existent in prison."
The court heard today that Majstorovic had agreed to undergo counselling, and other treatment, if sent to a juvenile facility.
Mr Rosinsky said this would also give the church more options for communication with Majstorovic.
"We're very keen to do that, to develop a rapport with him ... we just feel he has been so disconnected," he said.
"There is a lingering sadness (about the loss of the church) but we're moving ahead and applying the ideals of rehabilitation and healing to the situation."
The court heard Majstorovic was the sole carer of his mother, who has schizophrenia, that he was an isolated and impressionable young man and he had taken on the anti-church beliefs espoused by the band BURZUM.
Majstorovic believed religion created "weak" people, he viewed churches as a symbol of many of society's problems and he also told a friend that he alone had "the balls" to act.
Shortly before the church fire, Majstorovic drunkenly told friends at a party that he was leaving to burn down a church.
Judge Morrish told Majstorovic today he was not being punished for his alternative views but for his crimes.
"You are being sentenced on the basis of unlawful conduct," she said.
"... You harboured thoughts about committing such a crime and you seized the opportunity to act on it while at the party."

NASUM: Details Of Split CD With NAPALM DEATH Revealed
- Sep. 26, 2005
NASUM drummer Anders Jakobson has posted the following message on the group's official web site:
"Someone asked about the NASUM/NAPALM DEATH split in the Q & A section the other day — will it come out or not?
"Well, I haven't got any real news about this. As far as I know it will come out one day, but when and how I do not know. No one does; it's another planed release that's all.
"Last time I spoke about it with Shane [Embury, NAPALM DEATH bassist] he said that he had gotten an OK from Earache to use their 'Earache songs' on the split and I guess they have to get a few more OK's before they can get working on a possible tracklist.
"I've spent some time today working with our part of the split. I did some adjustments to the edit I did a few months ago and also some EQ tweaking to improve the sound. It sounds pretty good right now and the edit has a good flow so overall it's possible finalized. I might tweak it some more when it's time to really finish it.
"The editing I've done is to exclude some songs that didn't sound so good due to either sloppy playing or problems with the sound. I've also moved around some of the songs, which was quite interesting. We used to combine our songs in 'blocks' and there are some completely new blocks in this edit, which at least entertains me.
"The tracklist is as follows:
01. Corrosion 02. Doombringer 03. Just Another Hog 04. Inhale/Exhale 05. Scoop 06. Bullshit 07. Relics 08. Löpandebandsprincipen 09. I Hate People 10. Masshypnosis 11. A Welcome Breeze Of Stinking Air 12. Fatal Search 13. This is... 14. The Masked Face 15. The Idiot Parade 16. Den Svarta Fanan
"I think it's about 21-22 minutes of music in total. Now just hope that you will hear this soon..."
