SERJ TANKIAN Spills Truth About 'Lie Lie Lie' - June 30, 2008
The Pulse of Radio reports: Serj Tankian has issued "Lie Lie Lie" as the latest single from his 2007 debut solo album, "Elect the Dead". Although the song is just making its way onto radio stations now, you might have already heard it on TV as the opening theme for NBC's new horror series, "Fear Itself". Tankian told The Pulse of Radio that "Lie Lie Lie" started out as a different type of song altogether. "It was a serious song, and it wasn't working out in the studio. It was, you know, I was tracking that song with other lyrics, like really serious, heavy, potent lyrics, and I would go back to the control room and listen to it and go, 'Something's wrong with this song, like, I'm not getting the vibe, what's wrong with it?' And I realized that the music is so playful and so humorous and yet the lyrics were so serious and heavy, you know."

Tankian told The Pulse of Radio last week that the highlights of his last eight months on the road may soon be documented in a DVD featuring videos, live performances and behind-the-scenes footage.

The SYSTEM OF A DOWN singer is working with playwright Steven Sater on composing the score for a musical called "Prometheus Bound" and also plans to record a jazz album.

Tankian will perform a theatre show in Los Angeles on August 2, before heading to Dallas for an appearance at the single-day Ozzfest with OZZY OSBOURNE and METALLICA on August 9.

Am I the only person on the planet that doesn't think this guy is the genius everyone else makes him out to be? SOAD had some good tunes, but this guy's solo record was really, really annoying.

Haven't heard the album yet. I only know empty walls and sky is over and it's ok, but nothing that makes me wanna get the album.

System Of A Down was so much better than Serj solo. Too bad that they're not making music together at the moment... hopefully they'll reunite.

Excellent!

Lie Lie Lie is the best song on that album. Probably the best SOAD-related album ever btw. :)

Doesn't SOAD just hurry up their solo albums and touring, maybe take a little break after that, then reunite and take on the world??

SOAD were the first band to get me into prog metal, although they aren't really, they just use elements of it. Still, the lot of them are fucking amazing live. At one gig someone threw a bottle up on stage, Daron picked it up and started playing his guitar with a fucking beer bottle!!
