VENOM: 'Hell' To Receive U.S. Release In August - July 3, 2008
Universal Music Enterprises has set an August 12 North American release date for "Hell", the new album from British black metal pioneers VENOM. A promotional video for the CD can be viewed at this location.

VENOM made "Hell" available in a digipack edition via Nuclear Blast's mailorder featuring two bonus tracks — "In League With Satan" and "Burn In Hell" — and an inverted cross. Limited to 333 copies, it can be ordered here.

A complete track from "Hell" has been made available for streaming on the band's official web site. Check out the song "Straight To Hell" at this location. Streaming audio samples of eight songs from "Hell" are available here.

A brand new VENOM band photo can be viewed at this location.

VENOM last year parted ways with guitarist Mykvs (a.k.a. Mike Hickey; ex-CARCASS, CATHEDRAL). "Personal unavoidable commitments in the U.S. have forced Mykvs to announce that he cannot commit 100% to VENOM's schedule," the band previously wrote in a statement. A new guitarist by the name of Rage has been drafted in to replace Mykvs.

About freakin' time! I actually went to my local record store (several of them) on the original release date and was pissed off to find that it hadn't been released domestically and the stores didn't pick it up as an import. Lookin’ forward to this one…!

Still very worthy now--all the best to this band. Much tighter now. Miss Mantas, thought--too bad he's not on the same page. As for Abaddon, he had the same problem Sodom's witchhunter (killer drummer anyway) had--weak timekeeping ability, and that's the one thing you can't have as a drummer!

I'll definitely get the new record, though.

Personally, even Slayer at their best can't match the original Venom in their prime--they started it all, and what unbelievable showmanship!

Hail Satan, and Hail Venom!

Universal need a kick up the ass, not having a US release until a month after Europe??? c'mon? Cronos should give Roadrunner or Nuclear Blast a call for their next album.
