LEGION OF THE DAMNED: Footage From France's HELLFEST Available - July 5, 2008
Fan-filmed video footage of the Dutch thrash metal band LEGION OF THE DAMNED performing the song "Werewolf Corpse" on June 21, 2008 at the Hellfest in Clisson, France can be viewed below (clip uploaded by Dave Ingham a.k.a. YouTube user "triptykon").

Massacre Records has set a December 19 release date for the new album from LEGION OF THE DAMNED, entitled "Cult of the Dead". Songtitles set to appear on the CD include "Solar Overlord", "Fire Angel", "Pray and Suffer" and "Cult of the Dead". "Expect LEGION OF THE DAMNED at its best and with songs that hit you right in the face even before you have heard more than two songs," the group previously stated.

"Feel the Blade", a reissue of LEGION OF THE DAMNED's "Elegy for the Weak" CD (originally released under the band's previous moniker OCCULT), entered the German Media Control chart at position No. 70. Released on January 4, 2008 via Massacre Records, the new version of the LP contains two new songs that didn't appear on the original "Elegy for the Weak" album, a new cover and a bonus DVD.

The band has been confirmed for the Christmas Metal Meeting 2008, set to take place December 19, 2008 at Matrix in Bochum, Germany. Also scheduled to appear is SODOM.

LEGION OF THE DAMNED's "Sons of the Jackal" album entered the German national album chart at position No. 54 back in January 2007. The follow-up to 2006's "Malevolent Rapture" was recorded at Stage One studio in Bühne, Germany with producer Andy Classen.

I have been a fan of the band since they were called Occult, I am especially fond of the era of the band when Racheal Hayzer was the co- vocalist, gave the band a Holy Moses like Vibe to them.

The new Exciter CD is from the same label as The Legion of the Damned, I heard the new Exciter is pretty killer, where the new lead singer has a style that is the vein of Attacker's Bobby Mitchell. See review at metalcrypt.com, no review posted over at voices from the darkside website as of yet

If money is tight, and you need "FEEL THE BLADE" CD, stateside it is available through Season of Mist/ Caroline in the SOM 900 catlalouge series.

COMMENT | Good band....
