RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE Guitarist's Performance With BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN Being Released - July 8, 2008
According to The Pulse of Radio, RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE guitarist Tom Morello's performance (see video below) with Bruce Springsteen during Springsteen's April 7 concert in Anaheim, California will be featured on a four-song digital EP called "Magic Tour Highlights". The July 15 release will feature both audio and video tracks recorded live in concert during the E STREET BAND's current Magic tour. Morello joined Springsteen onstage on both April 7 and April 8 for an electric version of the latter's "The Ghost of Tom Joad" and told The Pulse of Radio how it came about. "We've been friends for about 10 years and I just ran into him at a recording studio a couple of days before the show, and he said, you know, 'We need to get you up onstage, Tommy!'" he said. "Like, I don't get nervous for too much, I've, you know, I've rocked my share of arenas, but I was terrified (laughs). But it went great. His crowd couldn't have been more appreciative, and soloing over the rocking E STREET BAND while the Boss nods his approval is...those are a couple of nights that I'll remember forever."

The collection will be available at all digital download outlets including the iTunes store.

It also features a guest appearance by BYRDS founder Roger McGuinn, as well as a song from late E STREET keyboardist Danny Federici's final performance with the band.

RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE recorded its own version of "The Ghost of Tom Joad" for its 2000 covers album, "Renegades".

RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE is playing European festivals throughout the summer, but will return home to headline the second day of this year's Lollapalooza festival on August 2 in Chicago's Grant Park.

so much for being for the common man bruce. as a longtime fan I can gurantee the working class people like me who bought into your message in the 80's are not listening to it now.when you alighn yourself with beyond left wingers like that nut job you lose my support. shut up and rock! I like your music and that's it,when you start telling me who to vote for I stop listening. same thing with mellancamp,if you are not gonna stay with what made you famous then I will not buy it.it's great you wanna be socialy active that doesn't mean I want to hear it.the last thing I need is a rich rock star telling me how to vote.and if wanna hear one tell me what to do I will listen to Ted Nugent not some tree hugger who wants the government to fix everything. oh yea rage sucks major ass!

Notice how the vast majority of the biggest bands out there are pretty much socially aware, anti-conservative musicians.

And what does the Right have to show for - Ped Nugent? :-D hahahah, go ahead see him at your local ribfest or redneck county fair, knowing that the rest of the world laughs at you all.

dude all I want from my muscians is good music not tree hugging far left nonsense disguised as social activisim. the right wing is about doing the best you can with what you have and make yourself better. if you get rich and want to help other people fine if not that's your choice.it is not for the government to bail your ass out with my tax dollars because you have to many kids and can't them. just because you want what everybody else has does not mean you get them. if you can't afford it tough do with out. I would love to get a new car but can't afford it so have to make do with my old one.if i vote for obama will he get the government to buy me 1?or better yet how about paying off my credit card bills then I can get that new car and tv I want. and why do we the U.S. taxpayer continue to send trillions of dollars in foreign aid only to see the very people it goes to burn our flag and protest against us? if were up to me I would say fine you don't owe us a penny but you will also never get another dime in aid. wonder how long before the rest of world comes begging for more? so trust me when I say I will take Ted's advice over any liberal rocker any time.

CRTC be damned, but I'd have gone to see Springsteen on tour last year if RATM were the opening act instead of the Arcade Fire. And, like, if I hadn't been working on that same night either.
