PRAYING MANTIS Working On New Album - July 23, 2008
UK rock veterans PRAYING MANTIS have commenced work on their long-awaited new studio album with the working title of "Touch the Rainbow". The CD will likely be recorded during the month of September in Atlanta, Georgia for an early 2009 release via Frontiers Records.

PRAYING MANTIS' current lineup includes founding members Tino and Chris Troy on guitar and bass, respectively; Benjamin Reid on drums; Andy Burgess on guitar; and Mike Freeland on vocals. This lineup has already played a number of festivals in Europe during 2008.

According to a press release, PRAYING MANTIS' new songs "once again present the familiar blend of the hard rock edge with very melodic 'hookline' choruses that have always been an essential trade mark of MANTIS since the 1980s." Chris Troy states, "This may well prove to be the best album MANTIS have ever written!"

Will get this one for sure. They've released some real gems after Time Tells No Lies. Check out Live at Last w. guest vocalist Paul Di'anno, To The Power of 10 w. guest vocalist Gary Barden of MSG fame, Live in Tokyo w. Barden, and their very latest with the incredible John Sloman. Although expensive, the Demorilia box set with Bernie Shaw (also of Uriah Heep) is quite good too. They've also released some real dogs though.
